if nothing happens teams will walk, the premier league will be a complete laughing stock.

It already is by letting them (and Chelsea and Newcastle) get this far - they'll chuck out a fine at most and that will be it. People expecting points deducted, relegation, transfer bans, titles stripped, etc are living in a dreamland.

High, as Zinchenko and Kiwior aren't up to much. He is very tempting as long as Saliba and Gabriel are priced higher but if they sign Calafiori then I'll stick with Saliba

Well if you like TAA as a midfielder go ahead. One thing about Slot, that is completely different to Klopp, all those long balls TAA liked to play will be a big NO under Slot. He likes players to keep the ball at their feet and and build patiently.
No guarantee TAA will be used the same way Klopp did.

I think until we know there are budget options to enable Haaland, it would be better to start the season without him. I'm thinking first WC I could revert to a Haaland draft if there appears to be 5.5m/6m budget mids/fwds that are able to keep up with the mid-priced established ones.

Seems the logical place to start and Liverpool's strong opening fixtures also support this approach. Happy to take Palmer, Foden, Gvardiol type of drafts over Haaland, Burn, Bailey type of teams to start and then reevaluate.

    1. MJF

Yeah but it's fine. You pick Foden and cap him. Him being at 9.5m is quite generous and enables this line.

        1. MJF
          2 years, 7 days ago

Certainly presents a choice, making it more interesting than last season. Still think Haaland ownership will be very high but nowhere near the levels of last two campaigns.

I think I might feel safer with C Haaland gw2. Not sure if Foden even starts gw2. Pep roulette
/ rest after Euros is quite possible for Foden. Easy to ditch Haaland after gw2 when we have more info.

You know they’ve messed up the prices when you see people posting drafts with no attacker below £5.5 million.

    1. The Mentaculus
      • 5 Years
      2 years, 7 days ago

Because they have no Haaland and/or Salah.

Admittedly I had low expectations for the competitiveness of the pricing, but I actually think it's better than the last couple seasons & hopefully EO will be more spread

    4.5m 4.0m
    Saliba Gvardiol 4.5m 4m 4m
    Salah Foden Palmer Gordon 4.5m
    Watkins Havertz Pedro

If clean sheets are as rare as they were last season, this seems a solid draft with Salah included. Could downgrade and spread the funds but the first fixtures are very nice for Liverpool.

They are nice, but can we trust their defence, VvD after injury and TAA being form liability is little off putting for me. Gakpo looked good on Euros and might be decent idea, but I still fear rotation and minutes with their attackers. Having both Salah and Haaland is probably not viable strategy.

Something like this to start the tinkering.

    Verbruggen
    Munoz Quansah Hall Senesi
    Salah Saka Bowen
    Haaland Isak Muniz

    4.0 Castagne Okoli Doyle

Smith Rowe to Crystal Palace to replace Olise could be interesting - price dependant

Mostly youth players in United's friendly today, so not really useful FPL-wise if anybody is wondering (or even knew it was on)

Load of U19s with wacky lineups and subs in their first friendly of the season away to a full-strength team who are already halfway through their season?

Totally understand that but suppose to be the new crop of players to break through you would expect more.
It was in my day preseason you used to get into the starting squad at least .:)

This is the result of years of under investment in the playing squad from the Glazers. Need less stingy owners
