I keep coming back to something like this...

    Henderson | Sa
    Gvardiol | Maatsen | Quansah | Robinson | Barco
    Salah | Gordon | Nkunku | Smith-Rowe | Rogers
    Haaland | Isak | Wood

Was on Hudson-Odoi/Muniz previously, may yet choose Murphy and go Jota over Gordon, may yet change my 6.5 mid, but I think the structure's set.

Maatsen has a few left backs tonight with right ? And Europe. Could be one to avoid to start

And I think Jota will be first choice forward so I’d go for him

You make a fair point, but the size of the fee makes me think he'll be starting. I have started wondering whether to donwgrade him and Rogers to be able to move Wood up to Solanke though.

Maatsen didn't start their last game and the defence seems a bit shaky. Muñoz!

ESR Wood looks better to me than CHO Muniz. Also, I prefer to start with Bobb over Rogers.

Definitely wouldn't start Maatsen. There's enough uncertainty and first two games are whu ARS.

Very similar to mine - bottom of page 1

      You have:
Sa, Maatsen, Barco, Nkunku and 0.5 IB

      I have
Fab, Mykolenko, H-B, Eze and 1.0 IB

Thoughts on the below? 1.0m ITB and easy to move off Salah/Haaland for flexibility

    Pickford (Virginia)
    Porro Munoz Robinson (Faes Johnson)
    Salah Eze MGW ESR (Winks)
    Haaland Isak Solanke

Also considering Henderson (is he nailed?) or Areola over Pickford, Hall over Munoz or one of the cheapies, CHO over MGW… ta!

Henderson is nailed as far as I'm aware, yes. I'd personally go Hudson-Odoi over Gibbs-White, but he's not a bad pick by any stretch.

Don't like MGW, has he even had an assist in all pre season?

Not really. Gakpo, Diaz and Nunez will all be rotated. Not to mention Jota’s injury troubles. I do think he could start GW1 but he is usually better as an impact sub.

            1. boombaba

Gakpo and Diaz will be left
Darwin still needs to work out what a goal is
Jota will start and if he scores a few will remain
              Darwin impact sub then

Klopp signing and price tag so Slot can do as he pleases

After this weekend its clear Jota will start CF. He will be subbed though ; 60 or 70 for either Gakpo or Nunez depending on the game. Either long term are a threat.

    Hi guys!

I play a draft league and would welcome some wisdom from those that have been closer to preseason action and chatter.

Who do you reckon is a better punt over the season as a long term hold:

    A) Jebbison
    B) Doku
    C) Trossard
    D) Jesus
    E) Adam Amstrong
    F) Ben Brereton Diaz
    G) Vardy

    Thanks!!

    1. x.jim.x
      • 11 Years

Trossard best of a bad bunch I reckon

    2. F4L
      • 11 Years

would narrow it down to trossard, armstrong or diaz

you're relying on martinelli to keep underperforming, so thats a risk

armstrong was decent in championship last season and has pens, but has never done it in the prem

diaz would be no.1 from for me, shown what he can do with sheff united and very much doubt he isn't first choice all season

    3. WVA
      • 9 Years

      Diaz the only nailed one

    4. The Mentaculus
      • 4 Years
      1 year, 4 months ago

A will be pretty useless once Unal is fit and/or they sign a new striker.

I think I like Trossard the most there. Although Martinelli has featured a lot preseason he hasn't really convinced imo and I imagine Trossard could get plenty of starts at LW. Jesus could be ok, probably a lot of rotation/cameos but given the paucity of good forwards in larger draft leagues I wouldn't mind him.

Not a massive Doku fan tbh, and expect Southampton to really struggle.

    A. Havertz + Gordon/L. Diaz + 5m mid (8th attacker)
    Or
    B. Pedro + Saka + 5m mid (8th attacker)
    Or
    C. Wood/Muniz + Saka + 4.5m mid (8th attacker)

    Choose 1.

He was involved in everything even though he didn't score or assist. Mitchell and Munoz also stood out as being really decent FPL assets. Kamada could be handy at 5.5m as well but Eze is the clear talisman.

like Bright said in the commentary, if Mitchell could develop that attacker's instinct to get in at the back post from crosses on the other side he could be the new Alonso.

You'll need to monitor the Team News to see if he'll start GW1.

If he does get the role, Garnacho's underlying stats the last half of the year were great & with Utd schedule he's being over looked at that price.

I feel I know the consensus but which do you prefer? I really want Son so on A

    A) Quansah Zinchenkoz Son 352
    B) Gabriel Gvardiol Solanke 343

B, largely because don’t rate Zinchenko

I think he will start the season left back though and has some potential attacking threat. Some times hooked around 65/70 minute mark which could be good if they concede after this point

      B) Gabriel Gvardiol Solanke 343 because, I feel Zinchenko loses his spot before Gabriel does.

I'm on A but no Zinchenko. Would rather get a sturdy 4.5m or if you really want the money there - Munoz.

    First draft, how's she looking?

    Onana
    TAA, Gvardiol, VDV
    Palmer, Jota, Garnacho, ESR
    Haaland, Isak, Solanke

    (Turner, Barco, Winks, Harwood-Bellis)

    Cheers!

Looking at xGI/90 over the last half of the season Palmer's the leader.

But, when you save 0.5mil on Saka just coin flip IMO.

As for Son & KDB their best seasons are behind them & so I prefer younger ascending players.

Rogers because I think he starts long term & AVL have some decent figures.

I am like Murphy for GW1 if no Gordon but longer term CHO/Minteh is prob better

Minteh longterm. Murphy for first 3 GWs is a fun punt.

Bobb feels like a too short of a punt for me... Foden will be back for GW2 and Bilva is already up and running.

Yeah he is just a bandwagon. Everybody will be dying to get rid after the first GW or two and his price will drop massively. I am avoiding.

    Pope, 4m
    Saliba, Burn, Quansah, Barco, Robinson
    Salah, Jota, ESR, Hwang, Lavia
    Haaland, Solanke, Isak

This is my team as it stands. A few differentials and I am generally pleased with it. However, I want to get rid of Burn as double Newcastle defence is probably too much and it blocks a move to Gordon. I am also 50-50 about Robinson. I am unsure if I would prefer Jota or Gordon (but would need to get rid of Burn for Gordon) but I am concerned Gordon will not be match fit in time and so won't start.

Looks nice. You could also make room for Gordon by downgrading Saliba and upgrading Pope to Raya.

Good thinking, especially in light of Arteta's defence rotation comments. Thanks!

Any thoughts on a Burn replacement? He is too risky for inclusion I think, even putting the Gordon question to one side.

    Luis Diaz or Gordon?

    Have Jota and Isak

Diaz could be good for a GW1 punt but Gordon if you want to keep for longer

Early on LIV have better fixtures than NEW. So I'm going double Jota & Diaz.

      Longer term, different story.

Jota and Diaz could be worth a go if Gordon's not playing
