    Morning... how's this looking?

    Leno - Iversen
    TAA - Gabriel - Konsa - Faes - Barco
    Salah - Son - Jota - Eze - Sangare
    Havertz - Isak - Solanke

    A) Good to go
    B) Havertz + Sangare out for J Pedro or Muniz + Rice to have a decent sub

I'm pretty set on not having Haaland, prefer having Son/Jota/Salah/Eze and 3 good forwards.

Not sure about Leno at 5m, better options at 4.5 IMO
Prefer Saliba to Gab but understand the pick

      A)

LIV and NFO fixtures are better than MCI (defence) and NEW over the first 6 GW

I've done a lot of tinkering but the main issue for me seems to come down to:
    A) Salah with cheaper defence and cheap bench
    B) Jota with premium defence and good bench
    C) Jota with cheaper defence, more money in midfield and 3rd forward

I'm unsure about the premium defenders. Will there be clean sheets? Will the bonus points affect them?
Do I prefer 7.5-8.5 million mids over them?
Or do I go for Saka/Son for even more reliability?!

Sorry, just a ramble, but I think these are the questions I need to answer rather than messing around with multiple drafts!

    Any thoughts would be welcome

There's a great article on the BPS changes just published earlier today

      https://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/2024/08/14/fpl-2024-25-bonus-points-changes-the-winners-and-losers

Shows that the impact is worse on Defenders, but the big premiums aren't affected too badly.

it was possibly even like 2002 or 2003 but the website in its current guise has been since 2006.

I think I was playing Yahoo fantasy football mainly back then, perhaps the budweiser official fpl one too, can't remember.

Barco/Robinson, Munoz & Henderson are going to have to do some heavy lifting Zoph when you consider most teams will have the rest.

Do you think they are strong enough to carry your team? One goal for Brentford & you’re having a bad week.

Warning for No Salah players to have a good captain GW5.

I'd say Solanke or Son could be good but having Salah that week is incredible.

There is a reality you may be comfortable captaining Jota or Trent too though.

I’m guessing all those will WC in 4 and bring him in.

There choice seems clear, go without for the first 3 weeks if you don’t plan to C him & make the call for GW4.

Saka & Son probably match him in the first 3

    Morning friends!

I think my team comes down to this (until another conundrum besets me). Which do you favour?

    A) Trent + Gvardiol + 6.5m mid
    B) Quansah + 5.0 def + Saka (would leave Munoz as my most expensive defender)

    Rest of the squad:
    Raya (4.0)
    xx xx Munoz Robinson Barco
    xx Jota Gordon Eze Winks
    Haaland Isak Solanke

    Cheers!

B could be Mykolenko to rotate well with the rest and leave 0.5ITB or, punty, Zinchenko if we get positive news from today's presser (doubt it).

Other way of raising funds for Gvardiol would be to downgrade Eze to Smith Rowe (leaving money to upgrade Winks to Rogers too) but money might be a bit spread then.

1 is a tough one. Gabriel the better asset if both sure of starting (which I think they are for now) but Calafiori might eat into his minutes. We don't know yet.

2 Porro could be great, could suffer from Spurs' porous defence. No obvious better 5.5 (but I like Munoz at 5)

here's where i am at, one day to go...

No Haaaland, but a free-hit plan for him in GW2

    Martinez (Vald)
    Gabriel, Gvardiol, Quansah (H-B, Blanco)
    Salah, Jota, Nkunku, Saka, Odegaard
    Isak, Solanke, (Joao Pedro)

still to decide whether Nkunku or Joao Pedro is 1st sub

    thoughts?

three thoughts behind the potential free hit

i am a notorious tinkerer/early wild carder....playing free hit will save the WC
if Haaland can't haul vs Ipswich, probably don't want him for now....looked pedestrian against MU
Southampton & Fulham also have tasty GW2 fixtures, Arsenal don't

Thinking of Paqueta as a differential - attacking load shared and on penalties yet haven’t seen him mentioned anywhere!

Unsure how to get the extra 0.5 to replace ESR for him, Muniz to Joao?

    Henderson (Vald)
    Gabriel Porro Munoz (Barco) (THB)
    Saka Jota Eze Gordon (ESR)

Eze to Kamada gets you there with change to spare.

Very decent preseason form and possible share of set pieces and very tidy record. Dubious that the 1.5 differential between the two is justifiable.
