The ultimate wildcard draft with Salah Halland Palmer, city n Liverpool defence, arsenal attack.

    Allison
    Lewis Konsa Robinson
    Salah Palmer Mbuemo Rogers
    Halland Havertz Pedro

    Fabianski Davis Winks Harwood

What do you think of this? Arsenal defence not required for next few gameweeks IMO.

I think locked in premiums are less likely to provide price increases than the glut of 6-8 mids etc

A lot have 1 or both. Go look at transfers sort by price rises and see who has risen. It's mostly cheaper players. I like to allow a couple of slots to cater for catching price rises

your point about the premium players not rising is what im debating.... obviously others will rise and obviously they will be the majority - we are only talking about the 3-5 premium players (haaland, saka, palmer, salah, de bruyne) who have also risen.

Why does his team value need to be built when he’s crammed in most of the big hitters? The point of building TV is to cram them in.

Over time people with better cash gen will fit more premiums in. That's a principle in other sports fantasy games, not just FPL

Well he seems to have the big attacking ones covered and even if you raised your TV, other premiums would also be more expensive so you just won’t have them all.

The same thing happens every year, people build more valuable squads but don’t factor in players rising in price when having there debates.

I could be proved wrong and will have to fix with WC later but I think people are overvaluing Palmer based on anomaly Wolves performance where Ait-Nouri was so bad he's been moved to

I agree, I’m swerving him and keeping Saka, Wolves spread their cheeks, he’ll score points but that was a freak game.

Spurs will play their gung ho high line, Saka will get opportunities.

Palmer was the top point scorer and top points per match scorer in FPL last season. Like many I was just waiting for him to show some form following his late return over the summer. He also looked good vs Palace.

      Haaland, Pedro

I’m worrying less about fixs for attacking players & more focussed on them for defences, take Pedro for example, scored against United & Arsenal, both would have been ‘red fixs’ teams that attack are worth backing over the colour coded fix list.

Last season there were a couple of hypothetical set and forget teams, one with Haaland no Salah, and one with Salah no Haaland, and each would have finished in the top 100. With the increased price tag for Haaland this season your strategy may be optimal.

I actually get this. The important aspect is just to have fun with how you play the game.

FPL can get too serious and stressful at times and there are times when the fun goes missing.

Between myself and two other friends, we've created a team where we can't pick any of the players we own in our individual teams. So no Haaland, Salah, or any of the popular premiums. And we're all having a lot more fun with this the we are with our own teams.

And as for the AI stuff, that's just sad

It's a bit ridiculous that anyone would let points on a screen affect them so much, that they need to let AI pick their team. No satisfaction from doing that at all and it's cheating

Playing devils advocate. It should just be points on a screen/a bit of fun.... but then this site wouldn't exist, the content creators wouldn't exist etc etc.... We all know that even though the first part is true there's a certain need in oneself to do well at FPL, badge of honour or whatever you want to call it. Its more than just a game and people do take it personally when they make mistakes which when you step away and think about it is nonsensical as we have no control over what actually happens on the pitch.

I also take FPL very seriously and it's a hobby of mine that I enjoy, but at the same time, if I have a bad week, I can live with it knowing I make my own decisions. Wasn't trying to belittle anyone who really enjoys this game but you have to make your own decisions, because letting an AI choose your team is cheating and a bit sad

I also have a problem with content creators bringing up mental health whenever they have a bad week, like fpl raptor did this week because he didn't own Haaland. It completely disregards people with serious mental health issues and is a ridiculous thing to bring up suddenly

All in all, people should learn to live with their decisions because it is just a game, it's a long season and if you have a bad one, there's always next season

yeah, it has become the norm to talk about this shizz in everyday topics, cool even. "hey, I have that too"

Horrible. I find nothing fun nor interesting using ai. I watch some of the videos mostly to learn about injuries that haven't posted yet plus just rational for some player choices I many not have thought of. As soon as I hear they are going to run teams through ai, I stop watching and move on. Simply have no interest in that.

Can’t believe so many are using it now and if it becomes very good, many more will start using it which will make the game worse

Don’t know how those promoting it’s usage can’t see that

True, it really would. There will be those that don't use it seeking out the same and ignoring those using. It will be common when getting a good score, cleanies will be asking, "Clean or ai? Show team"
Also 1 million rank will represent the new within ten thousand.

    A. Saka -> Salah

    Henderson
    Porro Lewis Robinson
    Saka ESR Jota Eze
    Haaland Isak Muniz

If it all goes wrong over the International then for some it will be wildcard time.

Something comes over people when they see what they could have. I had no intention of playing my WC, but was bored so have made some drafts. It does become tempting. But its just for a short lived endorphin release and something to tinker with. Its short-lived.

People set up their teams for 5/6 weeks. They knew Salah's fixtures. Going back on that now, chucking transfers at it, or even using WC is accepting defeat and rolling over. Its honestly better IMO to stick with the original plan unless you can transition easily without causing much damage.

In GW6 they will have no transfers or WC. IDK what their plan is then when people like Robinson, Rogers are no longer good options and people like Arsenal will be.

    Henderson (Fabianski)
    Gabriel Porro Robinson (Johnson Barco*)
    Saka Jota Gordon Eze (Winks)
    Haaland Isak Muniz

Would much rather get rid of Muniz than Isak, but does make it harder to get Salah in. Is Muniz + Gordon + Saka > Pedro + Mitoma + Salah (-4) a bit silly when I can just get to Salah for free by dropping Isak down to Pedro? WC6 probably.

His comments were actually very insightful:
      https://www.mancity.com/citytv/mens/pep-guardiola-post-west-ham-man-city-embargo-press-conference-63860808

And the boss believes the 19-year-old possesses special qualities on and off the ball, but stressed the importance of City’s squad depth when our schedule intensifies.

“Absolute, absolutely [he’s playing well]. Have you seen the minutes he played in the pocket? I said many times, Rico has one incredible ability that for many years, it was difficult to find,” he explained.

“Always he is free, always he is alone. When his mate has the ball. I don’t know what he does, but he’s free. You can pass the ball to him, and not just in positions where it’s comfortable, but in positions where the space is so tight, arriving in the third final.

“He is a good defender and can play in two or three positions. He’s playing good so he deserves to play. But every three days he cannot sustain that.

“We need Kyle [Walker] back, John [Stones] back, and all the players ready, because the schedule that comes from now on until the end of the season will be difficult.

“That’s what I said. Pre-season is over today. It’s over officially. The real season starts after the international break.

Reads very well for him, but clearly Walker will get some starts and Pep roulette will kick in post IB 🙂

This goes for all the City defenders by the way. Gvardiol doesn't go through the season playing all 38 games even if he's available for them all, history has taught us this with City under Pep. Very unfortunate for a 6.0m defender

I'd probably wait and see what occurs over the international break. He might not be your biggest fire by the eve of GW4. Its not a terrible fixture for Fulham but at the same time their better early fixtures have largely gone now. The fixtures would tell you to steer clear of Semenyo until 6 probably but he's in form so its that old debate, 4 isn't terrible but 5 is as bad as it gets. I'm not sure there's enough in Brighton's attack to justify the double up and Pedro is the much better of the pair for FPL.

Don't think I'd lose Saka before Spurs, but I've got him and Salah so easy to say that.

Of the options I'd be tempted by B.

But this is partly why I've wildcarded early. You've got a nice balanced team but getting Salah and Haaland (and in my case Saka and Palmer) means work needed to rebalance elsewhere.

I do feel bad for him. He was such a great prospect at Arsenal along with Saka. And he has had to watch as Arsenal have moved on and left him behind.

Looked at him in this video, you can tell he has been deeply affected: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a0Zz0n8GGPw&ab_channel=KamleshArsenalNewsUpdate

It won't be the shape of him physically but his stamina probably and durability to withstand 90 minutes week in week out in a tough league. He's basically never been expected to do it in his entire career. Surprised they did a club record fee on a player like this (the risks) who they potentially didn't need given they are struggling to accommodate him and Perreira when they are crying out for a centre forward.

Loads seem to be doing the Saka to Salah move in the week of the NLD, a game that’s traditionally full of goals.

He scored in both games last year, goal and assist at the Emirates and a goal at their ground (can’t remember if he got an assist or not) got a feeling this one could backfire.
