Morning Gents any thoughts on this draft would be greatly appreciated

    Kinsky/Dovin

    Jacqeut/Mosquera/Neco/Shaw/Diop'

    Bruno/Manzambi/Sarr/Cunha/Szob

    Haaland/Dcl/Brobby

    Some Thoughts,

1 I think Manzambi will play in a more attacking role for Villa like he did in the world cup and for 6 mil I think he is wort a punt
2 As a Liverpool fan I see Jacquet to be pretty nailed on this season so for 5 mill I dont see why more people arent on him
    Any thought apreciated

Pretty good draft. Have you looked at rotation for your 8th attacker? If not, you’re giving yourself a bit of bench headache every week.

Could drop to £4.5m fodder striker and do a couple of upgrades elsewhere.

I’m personally going for J Pedro as second striker as not keen on £6m crop. If Isak goes off, it’s a long jump from £6m to £9m unless early WC in mind

Personally dont get Jacquet (unless somebody says he's nailed)

Does anyone know how to change the name of your team once you have set up an account? Went for a low id number when it launched nd it gave me a auto generated name which is a bit unfortunate

Will Toure start straight away for Newcastle? I want to tap into Newcastle because they always seem to score goals, especially at home.

I agree, I have gone Elanga as I predict he will have a good season and Howe will play to his strengths. Was impressed with Elanga’s World Cup appearances too. Limited competition on the wing at the moment with Gordon leaving and Murphy out of favour.

      1. Mother Farke

Cheers for the reply, matey. I've considered Elanga, too. Whoever is more assured of minutes at the start of the season in all honesty. That's how much I trust in Newcastle to score goals.

You’d think Barnes and Elanga. Whichever side Toure can play, go with the other winger.

Yarmoluik - nailed down a starting place, manager told him to go forward more 2nd half of season. I expect a few more goals and assists as a result. Defcon well over 50% hit rate. Henderson as 6 means he should play more times as the 8

Rogers minutes may be managed at start. Monitor how City set-up now and Semenyo’s role.

Shaw looks a bargain but does up get up and down much these days for assist potential and his DC’s aren’t great. Maguire is better if you can stretch

for variety, KDH - he's instrumental to everything Everton do well going forward, and chips in with the odd defensive shift, I'd probably go Sarr over Ndiaye too

Bugger all hopefully. But then our defence is not akin to our early 2000s defence. I worry.

Saying that - I have Palmer / JP (worried about mins) in my team.

Going NOWHERE NEAR our defence now Cucs has left (bastardo)

          1. Malcolm Tucker
            • 5 Years
            1 month, 2 days ago

I'm on Palmer at the minute, think he's on for a big season again

Who's taking minutes of JP? Surely Delap's in for another season of cooling his heels on the touchline?

also on Palestra, why I asked about James, I assumed Reece would be starting but sounds like the young whipper snapper might be favoured instead?

think your defence looks alright, colwill lacroix chalobah is nowt to sniff at (though admittedly its nowhere near your early 2000's wall of steel, will it be Hato on the left in the bastardo's absence?

he'll do well, boro fan myself so glad to see him living it up (and the few pennies we pocketed)

if alsonso does opt for the two 10's approach him and palmer could be dancing all over the place, lots made of them being friends and it sometimes gets ahead of itself, but I do think there is something to be said for the chemistry they must feel in each others game, two tricky dribblers who can both finish and are on the same wavelength, sounds good to me!

Is it just me, or has the fixture ticker got home and away fixture difficulties reversed? Forest have got Leeds at home GW1, which is apparently more difficult than Brentford's trip to Elland Road GW2. Similarly, Liverpool at St James' is greener than Spurs playing Newcastle at home, and Coventry away at Arsenal is less red than Villa playing them at home. I haven't checked every team, but it seems that the ticker is saying away matches are easier than home ones.

Is it wrong, or am I just really missing something?

I think Cunha can be much better than Mbeumo but he does lack consistency and tends to get subbed early. I'd probably go cunha out of those two but unless Bruno has his minutes reduced in favour of europe then I think he is the best choice even at 4.0m more.

As a newcastle fan I am trying to have a player in my team all season so been thinking the same. Osula 6.0 and likely on penalties looks the best shout. Jaouen could end up #1 but at 4.5 not much point in starting with him. Otherwise Hall or Elanga

Midfield and forwards look great, but it’s unbalanced and defence stinks as you say.

If you’re sticking with £4.5m defenders, I’d include a few Defcon guys like Rodon, Ajer to grind some extra points per week. Not many clean sheets otherwise and teams with Arsenal defenders will start to rack them up.

I don't actually mind the defence, they are all capable points scorers. If you love the attack, go for it

    Bruno Palmer Semenyo Rogers
    Watkins Thiago Pedro

    Dubravka Mitchell Diop Hughes

    Palmer could be Saka

Check out how FPL General went on last year with his no Haaland strategy. And he’s elite at this game.

Why would you do it to yourself?

Team looks way stronger all over without, but is a risk around captaincy

Watkins and Thiago aren't that much better than the £6m options imo, and wouldn't have Rogers and Palmer. Could quite easily get Haaland in there and save yourself a headache

40-50 points better seems quite notable

I don't think Thiago is gonna do as well this season but if Watkins stays at Villa then he might be worth it

People not feeling Isak? Not seeing in many drafts. I have him but fearing not having Pedro now due to ownership levels!!

he's the one I don't have that I'm worried about, I've opted for Palmer as the third biggish budget player after Bruno / Haaland, it's tough to fit in another one

Thoughts on Mcginn as an fpl option? I thought he ended the season very well and also looked good in the world cup. Haven't actually logged into the app yet to see how he is priced
