With just one Gameweek remaining, the community is on the hunt for differentials for a last-ditch attempt at glory. Our community writers take a look at some of the final Gameweek’s best punts, while our hot topics posters also look ahead to the weekend’s fixtures as well as the next season. Strikers are among the subjects looked at in our Members Tables section this week, while we also catch up on the latest standings in our community tournaments.

The Community Articles

James Milner rarely excites our community but, according to JK, we are perhaps being too hasty to dismiss the Manchester City man. His article, complete with tables for Members, shows that Milner is in the form of his life. Dare you consider him as the ultimate dullard differential for Gameweek 38?

If Milner does not appeal as a punt then perhaps The Puntmaster’s final trio of differentials of the season will offer something for those who fancy taking a risk. To mark his final selection he has also launched a competition with the chance to win a £10 Amazon voucher.

The dangers of ignoring punts, such as Sadio Mane were laid bare in Gameweek 37, according to our latest Rough with the Smooth round up of your tales of Fantasy Football woe and joy. This also features one of the highest bench scores we have ever seen.

Don’t forget, if you’ve got some analysis, scout reports or features brewing, be sure to visit our community section to submit your article.

The Hottest Topics

The final Gameweek of the season can be a happy hunting ground for those who like to take a risk. To help assess the key matches where point hauls may be found, Twisted Saltergater penned this excellent final-day preview. Crystal Palace, Leicester, Everton and Stoke players are among those he looks at.

Among those players that may make way is Harry Kane, who has scored just once in his last seven matches. In our look at possible replacements Andy85wsm favours Newcastle man Papiss Cisse, while PurpleCobra’s likes the look of Romelu Lukaku for those with cash in the bank.

Midfield is another area where many in the community are looking to make a Gameweek 38 change. While Jafalad is considering Crystal Palace’s Jason Puncheon, AZ thinks Stewart Downing could be back to his early season form for the final match of the season.

Jinswick is among those paying close attention to potential differentials. He lies in fourth in FPL and is looking to put in place some audacious transfers to catch current number one Dufflinks, who lies 43 points ahead of him.

With the final Gameweek approaching, the community has been in reflective mood, looking back across the 37 Gameweeks gone by to find some common themes that will define 2014/15. For many it was the season where budget strikers such as Harry Kane dominated.

For Enzo the Baker, catching a handful of explosive points hauls from popular strikers, such as Kane and Sergio Aguero, in particular his Gameweek 8 hat-trick, defined the season and played a part in where Fantasy managers will finish in the overall rankings.

One striker that has failed to help the community rise in the rankings has been Manchester United’s misfiring striker Radamel Falcao. But JK wonders if we are being too hasty to dismiss him, should he remain at Manchester United next season.

When the final rankings are revealed on Sunday the long wait for August and the start of the new season begins. For those still needing a football fix over summer, The Sarjeant was on hand to look at some of the key matches and tournaments taking place.

Scordelario also popped by with news of a new FPL focused gadget that helps managers pick over the bones of the season and their key successes and failures.

Looking ahead to next season, D1sable has been pondering potential positional switches for some of this year’s out of position players, such as Aston Villa’s Gabby Agbonlahor.

Finally, Krickey is for Kinnear is continuing his mission to create 2014/15’s best cult XI. His latest plea for votes looks at some of this season’s surprise midfield stars.

The Members Tables

For those looking to take a punt on an attacker Granville has been taking a look at those with the most threat. This has a global filter but he advises using the Gameweek range filter to look from Gameweek 30 onwards.

Crystal Palace could be a good source of transfer prospects, with Ludo taking a close look at the underlying statistics of their players under the management of Alan Pardew.

Meanwhile, the focus of nuttman88’s latest table is sharp shooting strikers. This, too, has a global filter to help find the most up to date hot shot forwards.

If you’re a member and are yet to get to grips with the custom statistics tables, you can view this movie for an explanation of how they work. Also, remember to tag them so that people can find the tables with ease.

The Community Leagues

Mark has narrowed the gap on Greenwindmill in the hunt for first place in the FFScout Moderators and Contributors league to just nine points going into Gameweek 38. Although Greenwindmill looks more secure in first in the Long and Winding Road main league, where second and third placed Dispicable Michu and Simon Walsh both need to bridge a 23 gap to beat him.

In TorresMagic’s Last Man Standing competition, Mark K. has been crowned the 2014/15 winner, with his score of 69 outlasting 1783 others.

Davis gets injured. Brings in Pants for DGW. Pants get injured. Throws computer at wall.

In January I telling everyone to get a back up keeper for the 2nd half of the season, ready for DGW season. I deserve this.

My team is 26 and 23 points behind the first 2. Have to risk with some differentials, so I am about to do

    Alexis + Wickham + Fab -> Walcott + Costa + 7.4 mid (-8). Which is better?

    A) Mirallas
    B) Sigurdsson
    C) Puncheon
    D) Mahrez
    E) Mane
    Or anything else

    Any help appreciated.

If you take a double hit you will be 31 and 34 points behind. I would go for a captain punt instead. Good luck!

Is there any website/way of knowing the amount of transfers done this week already for each player?

Ulloa (or Vardy) for me as Leicester could quite possibly score a few in that game. If I didn't already have three of them (goalie, Schlup & Cambiasso) I'd be buying one or the other.

Chasing 21 pts in one league, everyone is very close...

My defence is in shambles and my bench is almost non-existent.

    Ospina/Myhill
    Terry, PVA, Schlupp, (Yun, Upson)
    Haz, Sanchez, Silva, Hendo, (Ameobi)
    Kun, Giroud, Benteke

Am open to any suggestions. Probably taking a hit.

Sitting on a lead, 56 points in my league so not too worried about that, but we have a manager of the month where I am only up by 8, so not chasing, thinking safety, only one transfer available, 1.2 in the bank:

    I have Schmeichel
Koscielny, Schulpp, Ryan Taylor, Van Aanholt, Zouma
    Erickson, Sanchez, Silva, Phillips, Hendo
    Aguero, Kane, Giroud

Do I send out: Giroud or Kane for........? Maybe Ulloa or Lukaku?
Or Get rid of Hendo or Erickson, maybe even Phillips for........? Totally clueless and stuck here I just don't like my options of punting on someone like Mahrez when I have the lead, but Hendo and Erickson have been awful, and who knows if QPR will even show up.

Haven't been this indecisive since my last trip to Dairy Queen.

League over month. I have a 40 pt, but I'm still cautious about my rivals differentials.

Leave Erikson. Maybe follow Sanchez closer, I think he will for sure be rested, the guy has be buzzing around all season. Silva is obviously a keep, I brought him in for Haz last night. I think Hendo could have a decent night. Haven't followed Phillips too much but I think he could replace Hendo since Stoke away is black horse game. Keep Aguero. Kane and Giroud are the players I'm stuck on. I think if you feel the need to drop either, it will be Giroud, maybe.

If Sanchez will be rested > Yaya Toure.
Kane/Giroud > Lukaku or Costa if you have the funding.

Not enough funds for Costa or we probably wouldn't be having this dilemma. Do you think it would be Sanchez rotated? I was thinking it might be Cazorla. or Ramsey sat, worried a bit about Giroud too. Stuck with all the arsenal double game week leftovers. Yes, I think you are right not to worry about the month.

Yeah, I'm worried about Sanchez and Caz more so. If they play, they will not play more than 60 minutes. I really think it'd be wise for Arsenal to bench Sanchez, at least I hope so because my rival has Sanchez. I have Ozil, really want to transfer him but he is a sure starter and I don't want to take a hit on a getting him out. Giroud's place is honestly up in the air at this point. With Welbeck not being 100% I think Wenger will play Giroud. A) because he doesn't have a decent backup striker. B) Giroud needs to up his confidence with a goal before the cup.

Yes, I guess with 3rd more or less in the bag unless things go south, its hard to predict, but punting away Sanchez opens me up to perhaps more risk than keeping him does, what if he plays and goes off? Nearly everyone else has him.

wait until tmrw. If there is not talk of rest, then you should keep. Transfer Giroud to Lukaku

He could always bench Giroud and give Sanchez another go upfront, nothing to play for now, if it works it could save him a lot of money in the Summer.

            Sanchez doesn't do rest.

Yes, it would seem a gamble is in order. Lots of options. Schmeichel is a cheap keeper, with Sanchez a potential rotation risk, maybe Toure?

I'm 23 pts behind my mini-league leader, the prize being a football shirt of choice with name and number so i really want to win it!

    My current team:

    Schemeichel
    Terry Schlupp Stones
    Ramsey Sanchez Sterling Hazard
    Benteke Giroud Aguero
    Bench: Myhill, Yoshida, McShane, Ki

    His team:

    Ospina
    Bertrand Bellerín Clyne
    Hazard Chadli Silva Fábregas
    Austin Aguero Kane

    Bench: Myhill, Azpi, Cambiasso, McShane

I'm looking for differentials, and so far my options are:

    a) Yaya + Lukaku for Hazard and Giroud (-4)
    b) Yaya + Bolasie/Milner for Sterling and Hazard (-4)
    c) Yaya + Costa + Bolasie/Milner for Sterling, Hazard and Giroud (-8)

    Some other combination??

    Thanks for the help!!
