We delve into the members data this evening after the Gameweek came to its conclusion last night. Stoke, Southampton and Watford’s forwards all come under analysis, whilst Sergio Aguero and Alexis Sanchez make a strong claim for immediate investment on the back of their weekend showings.
Butland (Schmeichel)
Francis Azpi Mert (Saylor, Huth)
Hazard (v) Mane Ozil Mahrez (Wanyama)
Wilson Aguero (c) Benteke
Any suggestions for a move or G2G? Already used my FTs.Huth over francis and G2G for me
Thank you!
Looks good
Romero / Diouf
or
Myhill / Gomis?Myhill Diouf
So I like the look of Soton and Swans. Question is
A-Gomis and Mane
B-Pelle and Payetoo what have i done, B is Pelle and Ayew.
A imo
I've gone B, but also have Mane
Im getting close to Pelle, Payet and Ayew. Not sure I can justify a Soton double up but have considered a Swans double.
I am going to stay away from Soton, worry of the EL cursed.
you like the llok of those two but you list Payet?
That being the case why not Sakho and Ayew?yeah i made a mistake, too many thoughts in my head.
B was meant to be Pelle and Ayew.
sooooooooooo,
will Mané drop cause i can't be losing that 0.1He didn't drop, chill
sometime this week, maybe.
I DONT KNOW WHO TO BELIEVE.
you need to ask yourself "who would Jesus get?"
lol
I think he will but since I'm already on -8, I'm hanging tough.
Im in the exact same position
Who would you replace him with?
exactly i don't have enough for depay
Mane > Depay
After his performance tonight and his easy week vs Newcastle
Romero and Courtois (possibly Fabianski too) aside, I'm struggling between Myhill or Butland.
Butland, set and forget undisputed no. 1
Butland, the fixture are very nice, and he's the #1.
Kos->Williams for a hit worth it?
nope. I fancy MNF
probably not
Cheers all, thanks
no Arsenal were unlucky to concede. Ward scored a great goal from distance
So I'm not WCing and I have a fairly template GW1 team.
This week I've suffered my first drop with Sterling losing 0.1. Hardly the 0.5-1.0 worth of drops people were predicting earlier in the week.So I'm not WCing and I have a fairly template GW1 team -> so am I. Only lost 0.1 on Wally
on -8 though. The mantra earlier in the week was to WC because you'll lose tons of TV otherwise. This has so far been proven wrong.
This.
I might lose further value on Haz, Kos or Mane (or even Pelle), but I really think these guys will bounce back. A ht or two can fix your problem - simple.I'm not sure you will lose value on those players.
I really think Sterling should go.. It felt great dropping him on WC.
3 more price change days to go still, but yeah, nowhere near as manic as people have made out!
Just depends on who you want really
Silva, Aguero, Payet, Yaya, City defender, United defenders are all rising and if you want them you need to get them fast
If you are happy with your team then it isn't an issueYou also took a -8 hit you forgot to mention
-4. I had 2FT's
And I sold Coates which in hindsight I didn't need to by the looks of things.
It looks like he will drop soon though, not sure why he didn't tonight...it is still only Tuesday
WC transfers don't count. Still, he could yet drop but I have my doubts. He's hardly a priority to get out on a FT (I panicked on that one though I admit).
ahh I was looking at the wrong box!
-4 I believe
well done on holding your WC. Could be a master stroke to deploy it later in Nov or Dec
I blame the price change sites of course. People have put too much faith in them but should know that WC transfers are a different animal to FT's.
Also chasing TV can limit your ability to objectively make the right decisions
Yeah thats another thing altogether and I agree. However I think people were prepared to stick it out if it wasn't for the 'fact' they'd lose 0.5-1.0m in value. They have been fooled by the looks of things.
I wouldn't say I was fooled. I was cautious when I made the move on Sunday and we'll find out on Saturday whether that caution was warranted or not.
We will Diva we will. Still, its been underwhelming so far to say the least.
It was last year too when large numbers wildcarded in the first international break.
International breaks are always fools gold for price changes. The only advantage I see in it is the extra time to think and the ability to adjust to international injuries.
I agree. But I think the first international break last year was the closest example last season to what is going on this week - so many wildcarded in that break that it actually was counter productive to those who were wildcarding to gain value.
Just to be clear, I wasn't fearing a couple of my players experiencing multiple price drops, but a large number, who were already in negative NTI after GW1, suffering 0.1 drops. That's why I won't know until Saturday whether I was right to be cautious or not.
As another note, if we were playing by last season's wildcard rules my thinking would have been very different. I went into the season with a default position of holding it until close to Christmas, but being open to the possibility of playing it earlier. My poor start plus the strong performance of teams about to come into a good run of fixtures created a fertile ground for using the wildcard. Nevertheless, I would have still liked to hold it until later - but the potential widespread price drops pushed me over the edge. If I could have held my first wildcard over into the second half of the season, I'm not sure I would have jumped on the wildcard because the possible benefit of having it for a DGW might well have outweighed the potential team value impact and other factors now.
Don't blame them, thank them. It's forced a lot to wildcard when they don't want to handing a sizeable competitive advantage to the rest of us
Well thats one way to look at it. However I'm not so cold hearted, I do feel sorry for people if they feel they were duped expecting huge price swings.
I don't see how you think it is an automatic advantage that you get to use your wild card between now and GW 19 and others who used it this week won't get any advantage
Totally agree Just A Hat. Abit arrogant to assume so.
I don't think the sites are the problem, so much as the fog. We can't tell what is an effective transfer and what isn't and they are struggling too. I think the sites are trying to predict the volume of wildcards being played and adjust according, but in the fog they can't tell which players are more subject to effective transfers and which are more subject to non-effective transfers. The popular picks on here are probably disproportionately affected by wildcard transfers because so many of the community are wildcarding.
Nevertheless, if, like me, you owned players like Cedric and Coates, I don't think it was unreasonable to think that they could be sold by non-wildcarding owners as much as wildcarders.Good point regarding the disparity between FFS bandwagons and rest. Cedric and Coates are being traded out almost exclusively by FFS WCers.
*the rest
True - so far. I'm happy to admit I was one of those fearing that outcome for my team and have transferred 10 players out as a precaution on my wildcard (a couple may return when the danger is past). The volume of wildcards, particularly among FFS players (who probably selecting from a smaller pool of players than the wider FPL masses) has been so great it is negating some of the effect.
That being said, we still have three more nights of changes to go and the market will pick up towards the end of the week, particularly among non-wildcarders who have be more cautious about their transfer(s).Its the FFS bandwagons I'm interested in. Some are being transferred out on mass by FFS WCers and it will count for nothing. Same can be said for some players coming in.
Indeed. Clearly though there are picks like Yaya, Aguero, Darmian, Kompany, Mahrez and Gomez that are - or were - moving in the the non-wildcarders market.
Almost I told you so. Since Monday I have been posting that risers and fallers are slow. DO NOT WC.
Top transferred out D, M and F are Ivan Haz and Roon. None have even dropped 0.1...I'd be concerned if people were only WCing for price changes. That certainly factored into my thinking but I possibly would have done so regardless. Personally some of my picks weren't looking so good anymore and with City coming into form with a good run of fixtures getting 3 in was high on my list of priorities. Also with player such as Sanchez coming back I saw an opportunity to get a head a bit by getting all those players in a couple of weeks or so before others.
Going on many of the posts price changes were certainly a massive factor in pushing people over the edge.
The fear of price changes have forced many to wildcard when they wouldn't have normally
Yep, it appears such a position was ill founded. Still, 3 days to go so we'll see.
39 price drops today alone!!! including Faber and Sterling... personally I had too many people in my team all heading for at least an 0.1 drop so wild carding was the only way forward given the bad 1st two gameweeks for points as well
7 of my original team from last week still on course for 0.1 drop by the end of the week and Aguero will be at least 0.2 up from last week...so wild carding was the only way forward.. good luck to those who still have emSterling and Fabregas were the only players of significance to us. The vast majority were non starters none of us own. This 39 drops etc is just fear mongering.
Mane, Haz, Rooney, Cedric are all still likely to drop this week.. no fear mongering there...
Likely? I think not
I previously scored high from fellow colleagues on my 343 team but now I've decided on a 343/352 rotation. can you guys give my team a rating out of 10 please and tell me who should be dropped. On WC.
I had Diout McCarthy and Westwood but I've decided to bring in Kone Butland and Januzaj
Myhill Butland
Darmian Kolarov Williams Gomez Martin
Sanchez Silva Depay Mahrez Januzaj
Aguero Gomis Koneso cold
Ayew or Payet?
Payet
Pie
Payet for me
Thanks all
I picked Ayew. Goal attempts much higher, basically all in the box. Payet is all class and i'll bring him soon in but as i already has Sakho i wanted to get in on the quality Swansea attack
Payet. Stats
how important do we think owning AGUERO this week is?
Quite. Simply because there are few captaincy alternatives. It wouldn't surprise me to see Everton turn it on at home though.
sakho hazard, plenty i think
Bit punty those two now though aren't they?
Depends who he would replace in your lineup.
not extremely but if you're following then maybe more so
I picked him over Alexis, so as long as you have one these two i belive you are going to be okay over the next week or 2
What's the reason most people choose Williams over naughton? Is he more nailed on? I'm sure naughton has more attacking potential so that's why I ask.
Bonus points
^^
This. He is a BAPS magnet so far
between the two, Wiliams is more likely to outscore Nau with bonus points than Nau getting assists/goals
Thought as much. Thanks all. Still feel very tempted to choose nuaghton. I am probably letting my love for attacking defenders cloud my judgement
Disastrous opening two weeks, languishing in around 2.7 millionth place...
WC time.
Romero
Mangala Yoshida Martin
Chadli Sanchez Toure Mahrez Hazard
Diouf Aguero
(McCarthy Gomez Oxford Watmore)
Any thoughts v much appreciated!who to captain?
Diouf (nor)
Aguero (eve)
silva (eve)
Sakho (bou)
payet (bou)
mane (wat)
sanchez (liv)be real.
agueroooooooooo
Sanchez
7Has to be kun.
Kun. Dont mess around
Any of the above.
I'm on PayetKun would be the popular pick. Payet and Sanchez good shouts as well. Mane if you fancy a gamble
Kolarov for
Clyne or Bellerìn
???you're bringing him in? I wouldn't want a Liverpool defender for the next 3 games
Yeah and why
arsenal west ham utd and who else cause as a liverpool fan i dont have the faithI'm bringing in Kolarov but I like Clyne more than Bellerin
I wanna make a parks and rec reference but i can't think of anything relevant
If you mean who you take out for Kolarov, I'd go Clyne. Pool fixtures turn around GW6
Start Courtois(wba) or McCarthy(AVL)
seriously?
are all your replys like this?
why don't you read my history if you're so curious.
yea, you seriously need to treat yourself.
meow.
Villa are lacking teeth and Mou does have a bad history with Pulis. But why would you spend 5.5 on a goalkeeper if you were planning on benching him
5.4 is his price and I agree why on earth would you even have a premium keeper if you didnt plan on playing him every week
😀
courtois
Courtois
Courtois, easy choice
I wonder who posts the @premierleague tweets...they are posting at a strange time, UK wise
Probably an american then
Likely some intern
What would you rather for GW4, already have Kun
a) Sannchez for free (Gives me Sanchez/Ozil double up for new)
b) Sanchez/SIlva for -4
If I do a, will still bring in SIlva for Ozil in GW5c) silva for free
Yeah SIlva/Ozil for free in GW4 is an option as well. Thanks
hmm for me silva but with are good picks sanchez makes enough of an impact for arsenal imo
If you can get Alexis for free do it without any hesitation
Cheers

I think I'll end up with something like this come Friday:
Butland / Ruddy
Kolarov / Shaw / Gomez / Richards / Targett
Depay / Mahrez / Sanchéz / Hoolahan / Yaya Touré
Aguero / Pellé / GomisGood. Pretty light down back but capable.
Thibault (McCarthy)
Vinny Cesar Oxford 4.5 4.5
Rambo Silva Payet Mahrez Fletch
Kun Graziano Christian
The idea is that if you're going to captain Aguero every week then whats the point of unbalancing the rest of your team with heavy hitters that you wont captain. Thats my theory anywaywest ham fans, whats oxfords job security like? will he start this weekend?
my team has silva and kun but no arsneal
Yaya or Ozil?
id like sanchez but it means ripping my team apart.Ozil, as you already have SIlva.
This^
Sanchez or no Arsenal attack imo
Currently on this too.

Hi Troops – WC Activated! – 54pts total and work needed to be done.
New team:
Butland / Ruddy
Kolorov / Williams / Darmian (Richards/Huth)
Silva / Sanchez / Payet / Mahrez (Westwood)
Aguero / Gomis / Diouf
Any words of advice would be appreciated. I have room for HAZ when he’s back in form.
Should I Diouf > Benteke and downgrade a Def or two?Sound team. Diouf vs Sakho would be a toss up for me but no clear favorite
Oh, u got Payet. Nice team
Looks fine. Surprised at the faith still shown in Rutland
right. Rutland and Myhill is better
Butland***
Myhill looks a good option. Butland is alright
Thanks everyone. Yes Rutland is just holding the 9.0m value for now. I may change it before the deadline. Any suggestions?
Get Myhill and that 4.0 Palace GKer
Extremely similar to mine. I went Myhill over Ruddy. Even tho the fixtures are harder I think chance of return is greater.
Obviously I think it's a good teamcheers all...
I have the exact same team except Myhill for Ruddy. Solid.
Now I have Myhill for Ruddy!

Appreciate any feedback!Did Ivanovic to Gomez to free up funds for Sanchez and because I thought Ivan was gonna fall today and Gomez to rise. Sanchez would come in for Cazorla. Good transfer or not?
I think so

who would you put in instead?
7.5
Top transferred out D, M and F are Ivan Haz and Roon. None have even dropped 0.1...
A little counter-intuitive but is it correct to say that if you choose 4.0 or 4.5 bench fodder, go for the highest ownership because they are more drop resistant?I would be happy to have transferred them out due to their lack of output, disregard the prices drops or lack thereof
There haven't been that many price drops full stop. Not many from significant players anyway.
Meanwhile lower ownership players like Mitrovic Remy Walcott had double drops.
They weren't starters. Thats why they dropped, nobody keeps players that don't play
not really because the higher ownership will mean high transfers out and it will lead to a drop eventually....the only reason not many have dropped so far is because the ownership of 4.0 and 4.5 is more varied than the big well known hitters. But Courtois was 5.5 and when he got his red he had an influx of outs and went down straight away. The only reason I'd assume they;ll be resistant is if the high ownership was not transferred out because many of the high ownerships wouldn't be serious players or more cautious, but without that and assuming everyone have the same rationality and seriousness of the game, it won't be any different between big or small.
Reading far too much into ownership. Has nothing to do with it. The players that are dropping are being sold on mass because they aren't playing
I'm coming round to that view although I cannot reconcile the lack of price drops so far of say Rooney.
216k transfers out 35% ownership x 3.2m players = 1.1m
that's over 20% transferred out. By any measure he should have dropped.WC's
Who to sell to fund aguero move ??
