With the fixture ticker shifting in favour of Everton, Southampton and Manchester United, there was plenty of advice in our community articles and hot topics about the best options to draft in. We also take a look back in the mists of time to see Fantasy Football Scout’s first ever conversation. Back in the present day, we feature some of the most eye-catching recent stats in our latest Members tables and catch up on some of those benefiting from both form and fixtures at the summit of our community leagues.

The Community Articles

Rakkhi has used this weekend’s fixture shift to take an in-depth look at the next few Gameweeks to assess whether fixture-proof is a myth and analyse just how good the immediate schedule for the likes of Everton really is.

Meanwhile, Daily Fantasy Football PI looks at three teams with strong fixtures from this weekend onwards, while Iafarrell’s latest article looks at the best captaincy candidates for this weekend and beyond.

Rodellegabomb has a trio of bandwagons to cast your eyes over and Your Mum’s Athletic has popped down the bookies to get inspiration for his regular predictions on the Gameweek ahead.

If you are a form over fixtures brand of Fantasy manager, there will be a lot to like in The Sarjeant’s latest article on the teams that are excelling regardless of opposition so far.

Don’t forget, if you’ve got some analysis, scout reports or features brewing, be sure to visit our community section to submit your article.

The Hottest Topics

Despite a kind run of matches for Manchester United on the horizon, Fantasy managers are queuing up to ditch Anthony Martial, who hasn’t scored since Gameweek 6. Already more than 70,000 Fantasy Premier League managers have drafted him out, with Spurs man Harry Kane the new centre of attention for many, according to Hooperman’s discussion on strikers. The England international was also one of a trio of key striker options we focused on in this hot topic on the best forward to draft in this week.

There was further chat about frontmen in Gruffyboy’s discussion on the best three striker options over the next few Gameweeeks. Heels over Head was also in fine voice on the issue of centre forwards, with this musical ode to football’s most notable goal scorers.

Jamie Vardy continues to attract interest after scoring in the seventh consecutive Premier League match in Gameweek 10. Davies asked will Leicester’s unstoppable force finally meet his match when he encounters the immovable object that is a well-drilled Tony Pulis defence at the Hawthorns this weekend?

Leicester’s other star this season has been Riyad Mahrez, who has five goals and as many assists to his name already. But, wondered Jaffilicious, with so many good options in attack and midfield is the 6.5m player now effectively a fifth midfielder that can be safely benched during tough matches?

Also falling down the pecking order shortly is West Brom’s defence, which after Leicester this weekend faces Manchester United and Arsenal. Could it be time to bail on the Baggies, asked Demi.

The fate of Boaz Myhill in the community’s sides is also now under threat due to West Brom’s turn for the worst in the fixture list, according to Dino’s look at the fate of rotation.

We also ask whether form trumps fixtures as the key guide for our forthcoming transfer moves. Elsewhere, Zasa was on hand this week to offer some advice on the best times to consider using our wildcards before it runs out at the end of 2015.

Jarvish has been looking even further ahead in the fixture list now that the quarter final draw has been made in the Capital One Cup. He offered a reminder that the finalists in this competition are set for a blank fixture and double Gameweek in the second half of the season, with Manchester City and Everton amongst the favourites to reach Wembley.

The community has also been looking back on the season so far, with Ryan starting a discussion on the most underrated and overrated Fantasy Premier League players so far this season. Looking further back, Kings of Lyon has unearthed what may well be Fantasy Football Scout’s first ever discussion and first ever Rate My Team.

In the more immediate past our Rough with the Smooth takes a look back at the best and worst transfer and captaincy decisions by the community in Gameweek 10 with one of our own writers proving amongst the smoothest operators when it comes to armband decisions.

Due to a technical issue with this week’s live Scoutcast the first ten minutes have been lost in the ether. Despite this setback, the remaining 50 minutes plus our run down of what you were missing out on during those first few minutes can be found here.

The Members Tables

For those hoping Manchester United can take advantage of their kind fixture run, I’ve created this look at their most attacking players. This has a global filter and is sorted by shots in the box.

Meanwhile, Jaffalicious has found some surprising names at the top of his latest table looking at the Premier League’s most attacking defenders over the last four Gameweeks.

The Community Tournaments

Round one of Balders’s Grand Play Offs competition continues this weekend. The latest standings can be found here. Balders was back again later in the week with this update on the latest preparations for the FIFFSA 5-a-side World Cup tournament.

In TorresMagic’s Last Man Standing the safety score was 32, which saw 150 players depart and 1726 remain.

Jaffalicious also popped by with an update from the FFS UEFA Champions League competition.

Finally, congratulations to Fantasy Football Scout moderators and contributors league leader Andy, who thanks to Harry Kane is now 149th overall.

If you are running a community tournament and would like the latest scores included in future Community Round Ups please email me a brief summary of the current leaders and a link to your league, spread sheet or head to head competition, at jonty@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk.

Now then. I've had a few beers and feel that transferring my cheap fifth mid to Mane and benching Mahrez is a good idea.

Someone talk me out of it!

Mane is a better option than Mahrez this week so in the absence of other info seems like a good move. Whether it's right for you really depends on your future plans and how you intend roman age a strong 8 each week

Afternoon all. Got a few precious moments whilst both kids are asleep. Tidy the house of waste time online?

Would anyone like any help with their fpl team whilst I consider this question?

If I don't reply it's more likely because one of the little buggers woke up than I actually serioudly considered tidying the house.

      1. Amateur Pundit Zan
        • 12 Years
        10 years, 1 month ago

Definitely a risk that key city players come off early if game going comfortably but they could be 2,3, or 4 goals up by then.

I've actually just got sterling over Kdb as a short term differential punt, a risk for sure but sterling better stats per the captain sensible article convinced me. I feel Kdb has out performed his goal threat though admittedly his shots out the box are more likely to go in than a lot of sterlings from in the box.

I'd captain if I had him still

      Hey AZR...

Ditch Martin, his goal threat is unsustainable where as Francis assist potential should keep going.

Sagan slightly better this week but vvd better going forward. I'd get him now as you may need to spend a transfer elsewhere next week.

Type out your differentials time(differential on here.. not in the "real" fpl world)

Mane(C) Ozil Yaya Ighalo Bertrand DDG(most have a sub 5.0 keeper)

Quietly confident with em.. no payet/mahrez and benching vardy (though he may end up in my starting 11 for ighalo by deadline 🙂 )

I don't know, it's been really annoying me. Someone said kdb might not start, Bony might not, they could get rested.. I don't know what the hell is going on. Realistically, they don't have much of a bench and so I'm assuming that both will play a part, maybe Bony off at 70

Yeah, i'm increasingly convinced by Pelle (C). Especially against the Bournemouth defence....

        Viper thanks for the reply.

I think Wijnaldum is a solid differential this week. He loves playing at home with 6 goals in his 6 hope appearances. Personally feel that if there was no red card vs Sunderland, Newcastle would have gone onto win the match.

I am hoping for someone to say "yeah it will be ok dropping Mahrez" ha.

Hey DZ'ers... Which one tickles your fancy?

Richards -> Sagna (already have Kolorov)
Targett -> Moreno (keep Richards..? :-/)
Bolassie -> KDB (no City attacking cover)

    Current Team:

    Begovic
    Evans Alderwield Kolorov
    Bolassie Sanchez Mane(c) Mahrez
    Vardy Pelle(vc) Lukaku

    Subs: Gosling Richards Targett

Not particularly. It may be the case when you have 2 attackers but I view the defenders separately. For example if the game finished 0-0 at least you gained something from it.

The more I think about this I am not sure why it's best to save the bench boost for a DGW?

In a DGW your obviously going to start everyone that has 2 matches, right? So what's the advantage then?

Triple captain on a DGW makes sense obviously!

    1. Bolivian Seaman

I understand this but your going to have all your DGW players in the starting 11 anyway. You planning on having 12 or 13 DGW players?

          • 16 Years

I remember once having to bench a DGW player as I already had 11 starting. That normally does require a bumper DGW from bad weather cancellations.

You will bench players like Sanchez if they don't have a DGW.

In that week you might have a situation where Ayew for example has a double and you're only non dgwk option to bench is Sanchez. Also likely to be the case if you are starting defenders you wouldn't normally start in place of someone like Bellerin

    2. Chrissy Waddle - 2025/26

But you would populate your bench with DGW players too. Makes perfect sense to me.

Hey TM....it seems like it's hard to get 6 or 7 DGW players in. Do you really think more then 11 will be possible with out a ton of hits? The only way this could possibly work would be a wild card before a DGW. Just can't see getting more then 8 players with a DGW. Maybe I'm missing something!

If you can fill your squad with DGWers in advance then you could get maybe 25 matches out of your squad (unlikely for that many, in reality). However, that could be a lot of 2 + 1 players.

I also have thought of dropping Mahrez, everyone around me has him which is giving me the fear. The big question is, how much will Leicester score against WBA.

Normally I would reckon WBA keeping a tight ship at home but Leicester are such an attacking team I am unsure.

If Leicester are going to score its a pretty safe assumption its going to include mahrez or Vardy.

Are Cedric owners tempted by Van Dijk's superior goal threat or is the extra 0.6 ITB convincing you to stick with Cedric?

I would have done Cedric > Van Dijk next week, but his price rise is putting me off now.
