With the fixture ticker shifting in favour of Everton, Southampton and Manchester United, there was plenty of advice in our community articles and hot topics about the best options to draft in. We also take a look back in the mists of time to see Fantasy Football Scout’s first ever conversation. Back in the present day, we feature some of the most eye-catching recent stats in our latest Members tables and catch up on some of those benefiting from both form and fixtures at the summit of our community leagues.

The Community Articles

Rakkhi has used this weekend’s fixture shift to take an in-depth look at the next few Gameweeks to assess whether fixture-proof is a myth and analyse just how good the immediate schedule for the likes of Everton really is.

Meanwhile, Daily Fantasy Football PI looks at three teams with strong fixtures from this weekend onwards, while Iafarrell’s latest article looks at the best captaincy candidates for this weekend and beyond.

Rodellegabomb has a trio of bandwagons to cast your eyes over and Your Mum’s Athletic has popped down the bookies to get inspiration for his regular predictions on the Gameweek ahead.

If you are a form over fixtures brand of Fantasy manager, there will be a lot to like in The Sarjeant’s latest article on the teams that are excelling regardless of opposition so far.

Don’t forget, if you’ve got some analysis, scout reports or features brewing, be sure to visit our community section to submit your article.

The Hottest Topics

Despite a kind run of matches for Manchester United on the horizon, Fantasy managers are queuing up to ditch Anthony Martial, who hasn’t scored since Gameweek 6. Already more than 70,000 Fantasy Premier League managers have drafted him out, with Spurs man Harry Kane the new centre of attention for many, according to Hooperman’s discussion on strikers. The England international was also one of a trio of key striker options we focused on in this hot topic on the best forward to draft in this week.

There was further chat about frontmen in Gruffyboy’s discussion on the best three striker options over the next few Gameweeeks. Heels over Head was also in fine voice on the issue of centre forwards, with this musical ode to football’s most notable goal scorers.

Jamie Vardy continues to attract interest after scoring in the seventh consecutive Premier League match in Gameweek 10. Davies asked will Leicester’s unstoppable force finally meet his match when he encounters the immovable object that is a well-drilled Tony Pulis defence at the Hawthorns this weekend?

Leicester’s other star this season has been Riyad Mahrez, who has five goals and as many assists to his name already. But, wondered Jaffilicious, with so many good options in attack and midfield is the 6.5m player now effectively a fifth midfielder that can be safely benched during tough matches?

Also falling down the pecking order shortly is West Brom’s defence, which after Leicester this weekend faces Manchester United and Arsenal. Could it be time to bail on the Baggies, asked Demi.

The fate of Boaz Myhill in the community’s sides is also now under threat due to West Brom’s turn for the worst in the fixture list, according to Dino’s look at the fate of rotation.

We also ask whether form trumps fixtures as the key guide for our forthcoming transfer moves. Elsewhere, Zasa was on hand this week to offer some advice on the best times to consider using our wildcards before it runs out at the end of 2015.

Jarvish has been looking even further ahead in the fixture list now that the quarter final draw has been made in the Capital One Cup. He offered a reminder that the finalists in this competition are set for a blank fixture and double Gameweek in the second half of the season, with Manchester City and Everton amongst the favourites to reach Wembley.

The community has also been looking back on the season so far, with Ryan starting a discussion on the most underrated and overrated Fantasy Premier League players so far this season. Looking further back, Kings of Lyon has unearthed what may well be Fantasy Football Scout’s first ever discussion and first ever Rate My Team.

In the more immediate past our Rough with the Smooth takes a look back at the best and worst transfer and captaincy decisions by the community in Gameweek 10 with one of our own writers proving amongst the smoothest operators when it comes to armband decisions.

Due to a technical issue with this week’s live Scoutcast the first ten minutes have been lost in the ether. Despite this setback, the remaining 50 minutes plus our run down of what you were missing out on during those first few minutes can be found here.

The Members Tables

For those hoping Manchester United can take advantage of their kind fixture run, I’ve created this look at their most attacking players. This has a global filter and is sorted by shots in the box.

Meanwhile, Jaffalicious has found some surprising names at the top of his latest table looking at the Premier League’s most attacking defenders over the last four Gameweeks.

The Community Tournaments

Round one of Balders’s Grand Play Offs competition continues this weekend. The latest standings can be found here. Balders was back again later in the week with this update on the latest preparations for the FIFFSA 5-a-side World Cup tournament.

In TorresMagic’s Last Man Standing the safety score was 32, which saw 150 players depart and 1726 remain.

Jaffalicious also popped by with an update from the FFS UEFA Champions League competition.

Finally, congratulations to Fantasy Football Scout moderators and contributors league leader Andy, who thanks to Harry Kane is now 149th overall.

If you are running a community tournament and would like the latest scores included in future Community Round Ups please email me a brief summary of the current leaders and a link to your league, spread sheet or head to head competition, at jonty@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk.

    I don't own KDB.

This week isn't going to end well is it 🙁

Opted for Mane in the end.

Really scared not having Mane or Kane this week.

On another note, who would you bench Mahrez or Ayew?

I have 4 players playing in that match.
          Myhill, Dawson, Mahrez, Vardy.

Doesn't matter, the option is between attackers. I'd bench Ayew over Mahrez.

Is Kolarov worth the extra 0.7m over Sagna?

Sounds like both Clichy and Zaba will be back soon so presumably both Kolarov and Sagna will be at risk of rotation soon (Sagna arguably more so). Factoring in Kolarov's additional attacking threat, set pieces and pens if Yaya is off the pitch, perhaps he is worth the extra money....

    1. Acquafresca
      • 14 Years

      Yes, get Kolarov. First choice.

      One press conference per game.

He mentioned Silva was expected to be fit for the weekend at League Cup conference, then amended that at press conference for the PL game.

All managers in both competitions did two press conferences this week.

Yes, and with some kind fixtures coming up I hope he can deliver. The lack of goals from Man Utd as a team is worrying, but when they do score I think there's a high chance it'll be Martial. I'll probably drop him when Aguero is back.

KDB (C) because Man City will run riot against Norwich at home like they've done against Newcastle and Bournemouth already.

Pelle (C) because Bournemouth have conceded 11 goals in their last three games and Pelle will be targeted by crosses all day long.

or Kane (C) because his explosion will give him the confidence to replicate last season's form against Aston Villa who are looking very shaky right now

Kane does look a great option this week. I'm just put off by his next 4 games

ars, WHU, CHE, wba doesn't scream goals to me.

Would also have to do one of these downgrades to afford

        Kolarov -> Sagna
        DDG -> Howard
        VVD -> Cedric

Given the above it doesn't feel like it's worth it

Vardy is still great value, I just see MCY putting way more goals past NOR, avl than I do LEI putting them past wba, WAT.

Fair enough. Vardy is one of the best value players in the game IMO. I personally think he will outscore Bony over the next two, and you have KDB anyway

Vardy for Bony and upgrade Mahrez to Ozil imo.. would rather Ozil + Vardy every week

No SIlva has made me change captain from Mane to KDB(c) as lesser people to steal points

Right decision or go with Mane as had thought that UCL midweek will force KDB to play 60-70 mins...

That's what's keeping me from captaining KDB, last time he played 61 minutes before a CL game.

What are your reasoning's behind your captain?

I'm incredibly torn between Pelle and KdB.

I'm having slight doubts over KDB and Bony's gametime...on Pelle atm.

      I'm considering going Lukaku because I figure that;
      A) Sunderland have been woeful
      B) He will likely play the full 90minutes
      C) He is on penalties
      D) He is a differential, especially as captain
      E) I see Everton really wanting a win after their tough run of fixtures
      F) Everton are the early match on Sunday 🙂

      Kdb

I would expect KDB minimum return to be a goal, assist, clean sheet and a bonus point (I.e. 12 points). If you think Pelle will score at least 2 and out-bonus point KDB then go with him. KDB for me.

    Armband then..?
    KDB, Sanchez, Pelle, Kolorov..

Stuck it on Pelle last time round and was laughed out of it later.
    Not explosive enough apparently.

      Pelle

    Myhill
    Lolarov Darmian Monreal
    Sanchez KDB (c) Mahrez Payet
    Lukaku Pelle Vardy

    Schwarzer Francis Targett Bentaleb

Gtg? Or should I use a FT to do Darmian -> Van Dijk?

Lukaku has the fixtures but he's so spotty. I'm monitoring him and Pelle. If they continue to draw blanks im looking elsewhere.

Done Gomez & Martial > VVD & Bony for -4 last night.

Feeling confident this morning now. Last decision who to captain out of Bony, KDB & Pelle.

Currently own Kolarov, Janmaat, Ward Richards and Prodl
Did my free transfer to get Lukaku instead of Gomis, yet I'm considering a hit since my AoA isn't of use this week and I might struggle to play 11 if I don't as Prodl seems to have lost his place whilst Richards and Ward play for dodgy backlines.
Not willing to pay more than 5.4-5.3 for a defender as Aguero in will be a priority later on.
    1) Would you take a hit?
    A) Yes
    B) No

2)Who would you get rid of first if yes?
    A) Richards
    B) Ward
    C)Prodl

3)Which 5.4 and below defender do you think will score the most over the next 5-7 weeks?

    Cheers all

if your not going to be able to field 11 players than I would say take a hit if you can find a suitable replacement
