The EA Sports PPI scores are now published and the Fantasy Premier League game bonus have been awarded, here’s how they map out for Gameweek Eleven. As far as we know, the goals, assists and bonus points have now been fully revised and the current points will now stand…

Arsenal 3 West Brom 0

Vermaelen 3, Van Persie & Arteta 2

With Gervinho judged to have got a touch on Robin Van Persie cross, the Arsenal skipper lost his initial assist for the Thomas Vermaelen’s goal and dropped to 32 PPI points as a result. He lost out on the maximum to the Belgian defender by just a single PPI point with Vermaelen recording 33 in the PPI. Mikel Arteta also recorded a PPI of 32 so he has now been promoted in the bonus reckoning, sharing the two bonus points with Van Persie. Alex Song and Theo Walcott were just outside the bonus reckoning.

Aston Villa 3 Norwich 2
Agbonlahor 3, Bent 2, Pilkington 1

The cast in our prediction were correct, but it was Gabby Agbonlahor who gained top billing by just a single EA PPI point from team-mate Darren Bent – it could not have been closer. Antony Pilkington came in for the single as predicted, courtesy of his fourth goal of the season. On 32 PPI points, Pilkington was a fully 20 behind both Bent and Agbonlahor. Pilkington nonetheless got the bonus, holding off team-mate Steve Morison by just 3 PPI points.

Blackburn 0 Chelsea 1

Lampard 3, Ivanovic 2, Cech 1

Our prediction in last night’s members article was spot on here. Frank Lampard gathered the bonus with a PPI score of 44, a full 19 points ahead of team-mate Branislav Ivanovic who, courtesy of his assist and some decent defensive stats, earned bonus on his return to the right-back berth. Petr Cech’s saves helped him secure just a second clean sheet of the season to help gather a PPI of 23, enough to see off Ashley Cole for the single bonus point.

Liverpool 0 Swansea 0

Dyer 3, Vorm 2, Johnson 1

Hands up, we got this one wrong in last night’s prediction. Despite Nathan Dyer’s ICT stats putting him second overall in this match behind Luis Suarez (who was never going to score well in PPI terms), we chose to ignore his claim for bonus and beef up the defensive players. Dyer did however prevail here, no doubt helped by an impressive set of all-round statistics that included tackles and efforts on goal. His 20 PPI points was the lowest total to earn 3 bonus this week but nonetheless proved enough, as Michel Vorm (17) and Liverpool’s Glen Johnson (15) came in next to also fetch bonus points.

Manchester United 1 Sunderland 0

Evra 3, Rooney 2, Vidic & Nani 1

Despite Patrice Evra coming out on top amongst our ICT ratings in the United defence, we opted to go with both Vidic and Ferdinand for the bonus in last night’s prediction, believing that their extra clearances would see them ahead in the PPI stakes. Evra’s all-round contribution, that included some decent attacking statistics, proved enough for him to record a PPI of 30 however, seeing off Wayne Rooney (26) and Vidic (19). Nani also totalled 19 PPI points to share the single bonus point with Vidic – we’ve had it confirmed that Nani is holding on to his assist for the winning goal – Danny Welbeck did not get a touch on his cross before Wes Brown nodded into his own net.

Newcastle 2 Everton 1

R Taylor 3, Rodwell 2, Simpson & Ba 1

Ryan Taylor gathered the maximum having scored what turned out to be the winning goal, converting his own long-throw via a Demba Ba flick, with an effort that dipped over Tim Howard. Ba shared a single bonus point having gained the assist for Taylor’s goal – his flick was cleared by an Everton defender within the penalty box, therefore, as the last attacker with a touch, Ba earned the assist. Danny Simpson, who provided the assist for the John Heitinga own goal, also fetched bonus here. Both Simpson and Ba recorded 21 EA PPI’s points, with Everton’s Jack Rodwell topping that on 25 courtesy of his consolation that offered Everton hope just before half-time, to earn the two bonus here.

QPR 2 Man City 3

Dzeko 3, Toure 2, Silva 1

Edin Dzeko came out on top as predicted with another powerful attacking display in City’s win at Loftus Road. The Bosnian just nudged out team-mate Yaya Toure by just a single PPI point, while David Silva’s goal helped him to a PPI haul of 29 – enough to see him earn a single bonus point. Jay Bothroyd was QPR’s top PPI performer on the day but was someway behind a host of City contenders as the victory heavily influenced the PPI outcome.

Wolves 3 Wigan 1

O’Hara 3, Ward 2, Edwards 1

Last night’s Members article correctly predicted the names amongst today’s bonus but it was Stephen Ward who sneaked in front of David Edwards to earn the two bonus points. Ward’s return of 30 PPI points was enough to see off Edwards who recorded 27, while Jamie O’Hara was a clear front runner here, amassing no less than 55 PPI points with a goal and two assists to his name. Kevin Doyle and Stephen Hunt also put in impressive PPI scores, with Ben Watson Wigan’s best performer on the day.

Bolton 5 Stoke City 0

Klasnic 3, Ealges, Wheater 1

Ivan Klasnic returned to the Bolton lineup and recorded the top overall PPI score of the gameweek with a haul of 68. That was more than enough to see him hold off team-mate Chris Eagles for the maximum bonus points. We predicted that David Wheater would sneak in for a single bonus, courtesy of some decent defensive stats and his assist, and so it proved. Wheater held off the claims of Kevin Davies and Paul Robinson who also fetched storng PPI returns from the Reebok rout.

Fulham 1 Tottenham 3

Bale 3, Lennon 2, Adebayor 1

Gareth Bale and Aaron Lennon provided the major attacking threat for Spurs and subsequently dominated the PPI scores in this match. Bale edged out his team-mate by just a single PPI point to fetch the maximum on offer, while Emmanuel Adebayor did enough to pick up the single point, surprisingly surpassing the PPI total of Brad Friedel, who kept Fulham at bay with a string of saves. Friedel recorded a PPI score of 20 with Adebayor amassing 26 to claim the single bonus.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Opinions please people:

    Am I over reacting?

    Current team is as follows:

    Given

    Kompany, Bosingwa, Enrique, Simpson

    Silva, Murphy, Walters

    RVP, Rooney, Suarez

    Ruddy, Wilkinson, Petrov, Tiote

Petrov to Sess was planned for this week but now I am thinking Rooney, Given, Bosingwa and Suarez all need to go - anyone think I'm over reacting and should hold the faith?

Is it too much to have VDV & Bale, and maybe BAE too? Enjoy this wc business, but wary of punts. Thinking of Bendtner and Drenthe, nice run of fixtures for both, Howard & Vorm seem to rotate pretty well til next wc. Any thoughts appreciated.

Spurs defenders are an expensive no go area for me.

If Bale was nearer the 6 range then I think he'd be worth it but I reckon there is better FPL value out there.

Drenthe and Bendtner seem a sound combo and I would get Hibbertmeister as your Ev defensive coverage.

Brought him in last night just in case he rose. It's Drenthe I'm most doubtful about, Everton ain't known for scoring too many, Ramsey's a little more expensive but could be more involved in the goals. Maybe. 2 weeks to sort it out 😉

Completely and utterly stumped. If Van Persie's 3 bonus points get removed, I'll have my first red arrow in 7 weeks. I was convinced that I was making the correct decisions, but clearly not. I NEED your help. My team is linked but I'll post it here anyway.

    Vorm - Given

    Kompany - Ward - Jose Enrique - Brown - N Taylor

Silva - Van Der Vaart - Cabaye - Ramsey - Moses

Van Persie - Suarez - Sturridge

1.5 mill in bank and 2 free transfers. If I had to confirm my transfers right now, I'd probably do Cabaye to Drenthe and Suarez to Bendtner. Would that be a gargantuan mistake?

    Given, Ruddy
    Komapny, Bosingwa, Wilkinson, Simpson, Boyata
    Mata, Silva, vDV, Moses, Dyer
    Sturridge, Suarez, RvP

    Have 2 free transfers.

    Want to do....

    Bosingwa > Assou-Ekotto
    Suarez > Bendtner

But it leaves me 4.3 in the bank, which i feel is too much. Want to get Drenthe in who rotates well with Dyer but it means i need to get rid of Moses who i still think will come good.

Delivered big for the first time against Arsenal. He just has taken the customary time to adjust to the PL, Silva went through exactly the same thing. I will be going VDV > Mata later in the season if VDV doesn't keep up his hot form. It's not changed my mind yet, but he did look very dead last night for Spurs.

Yeah there's no point sticking with a player through a bad patch when others are outperforming him. But that has to be counterbalanced with the possibility of having him when his good patch starts and you get maximum differential. Also, there's a tendency when you select obviously talented players like Mata, Suarez, Torres etc. to tolerate bad games because you think such a good player cannot ultimately fail to score. The next score "has to be round the corner". Sometimes this is true, sometimes it isn't. So far, I think most of the time it isn't.

I may look to Klasnic as a 3rd striker instead of Hoilett and Sturridge to partner Roo and RVP.

    Richards, Jones, Ward (Simpson, Gabbidon)

    Silva, Petrov, VDV, Moses (dyer)

I have one free transfer and 0.2m in the bank.

What do you think I should do?

I was thinking of doing one of the following:

    1. Given to Westwood

    2. Given to Westwood AND petrov to either Ramsey, drenthe or sessegnon (-4)

    3. Ward to brown AND petrov to drenthe (-4)

"Cakes are given to students at the end of each day..."

How many cakes do students get each week? (Answer: 7)

"assists are reviewed before the points are updated at the end of each day.”

How many reviews can be made each week? (Answer: Apparently 1, according to some angry RVP owners on here.)

I think the main problem is the assist rule (I.e. it should be a meaningful touch to be an assist)

If this was the focus of people's objections I'd agree. Don't know why people are focussing on the timing of the decision.

Yes, but then the problem becomes what constitutes a 'meaningful' assist. The line draewn there is very blurry. The line drawn on the rule as it is makes it very clear: last touch, no dispute.

The only assist rule that sucks is the into-the-box-defender-deflection-out-of-the-box-goal rule. Honestly, the most controversial assist of this week is clearly Demba ba's.

Wasn't there some criterion for goals like if the shot was on target before the defender touched it, the striker always gets it, but if the shot was off target but knocked on target by the defender, it's an own goal?

I agree - the 'meaningful' assist is as open to interpretation as the old bonus point rule. There will always be some daft assists given but, if the rules say 'last touch', then last touch it is. Clarity is better.

If you have the tendency to get annoyed by your rivals gaining points for dodgy assist, you just have to console yourself with the fact that FPL, much as we love it, is nothing more than a glorified version of Bingo. A version where the prizes aren't as good..

I love the new bonus system. People can hate on the shots-off-target thing all they want ,but at least we have a clear indication of what to look for. Rarely are we ever surprised by bonus, except in 0-0 games.

If you hate the shots-off-target thing....then you can easily factor it into your selection by NOT getting people with lots of shots of target, ie Carrol, Suarez, Torres.

      Simples.
