Eden Hazard continues his fine recent form with a fourth goal in as many league outings. Lamine Kone scores twice and Patrick van Aanholt bags a sixth of the season as Sunderland pull off another great escape, whilst Nathan Redmond and Dieumerci Mbokani bring in the points as relegated Norwich put four past Watford.

Hazard nets again

Chelsea lay claim to just one win in six following their draw on Merseyside.

Eden Hazard opened the scoring (Baba Rahman assist) for the visitors with his fourth goal in as many appearances. Shifted into a central support role as the fit-again Pedro took over on the left, the 10.9-priced Belgian has played with renewed confidence in recent weeks but next faces a Leicester City defence that’s conceded just 10 goals since Gameweek 20.

In the absence of Diego Costa (hamstring injury) and Branislav Ivanovic (groin), Bertrand Traore spearheaded Chelsea’s attack and John Obi Mikel filled in at centre-back. Costa is not expected to be passed fit for the Foxes match-up, which shines a spotlight on Traore’s out-of-position potential at the 5.4 mark in Guus Hiddink’s final match in charge before Antonio Conte takes over in the summer.

Benteke salvages point for Reds

Liverpool named a full-strength XI that left it late to rescue a point at Anfield.

True to his word, Jurgen Klopp recalled his first-teamers for the Blues’ visit. The manager’s assertion that fresh legs will be deployed at West Bromwich Albion this weekend is likely to trigger significant sales of his regulars prior to Sunday’s deadline.

Christian Benteke equalised (Sheyi Ojo assist) for the Reds in stoppage time, marking the third time in as many appearances that he’s produced attacking returns (two goals, one assist). The big Belgian looks in line to be unleashed from the off at the Hawthorns this weekend, with Klopp clearly intent on keeping last night’s starters fresh for next Wednesday’s Europa League final against Sevilla.

Kone brace secure Black Cats’ survival

Sunderland secured their top-flight survival with a resounding 3-0 victory over a hapless Everton unit.

The Wearsiders’ defence caused the damage, with Patrick van Aanholt’s sixth goal of the campaign satisfying his 65,000 new backers. Lamine Kone then opened his Premier League account with a brace at the Stadium of Light – the winter signing ended as the highest-scoring player in double Gameweek 37 after racking up 21 points. Both men profited from Sunderland’s fourth shut-out in seven outings, which holds them in good stead against an inconsistent Watford attack.

Jermain Defoe and Yann M’Vila bagged an assist apiece. The former registered 10 points across the double and has now produced attacking returns in four of his last five starts, encouraging owners to retain his services for Sunday’s trip to Vicarage Road.

Canaries drop into Championship

Despite recovering from their slump and recording a 4-2 home win over Watford, Norwich were consigned to relegation by way of Sunderland’s victory.

Alex Neil made four changes for the Hornets’ visit, with Sebastien Bassong and Robbie Brady dropping to the bench. Dieumerci Mbokani reclaimed a starting berth up top and netted a brace, meaning he’s bagged three goals in his previous quartet of starts. Considering that Everton – who shipped 11 goals in their last four outings – are next on the Canaries’ agenda, the DR Congo international harbours differential appeal in the final Gameweek.

The same can be said of Nathan Redmond, who rewarded over 7,000 new suitors with a goal and two assists last night – indeed, he ended up as the highest scoring midfielder over the double with a total of 17 points. Wes Hoolahan and Steven Naismith also turned provider for a goal apiece.

Deeney in the points again

Watford fell to their third successive road defeat after being picked apart at Carrow Road.

Troy Deeney notched a goal and assist, gratifying 42,000 Fantasy managers that acquired him prior to Watford’s double Gameweek. Given that the Hornets welcome Sunderland on the final day, his 7% ownership will likely feel inclined to retain the in-form marksman.

Odion Ighalo scored his 16th goal of the season to arrest a 12-match barren streak. Nonetheless, he chalked up three fewer shots on target (four compared to seven) than Deeney across their previous four fixtures, underlining his slide down the hierarchy.

Craig Cathcart’s 6,400 new owners were left exasperated by the Northern Ireland international’s own goal. Watford recorded a solitary clean sheet in their last 10 match-ups, negating the attraction of their budget defenders.

30 points ML leader. We both have Sanchez, and I think he will captain Sanchez.

Final GW38 games are on Sunday at 15:00.

    - Will we get pressers on Saturday, rather than Friday?
    - Any chances of getting accurate team news in the Sunday papers? For example, whether Martinez is going to play some youth players, or whether Ozil is fit.

    1. HamezMace
      • 11 Years
      9 years, 7 months ago

Martinez shouldn't play youth players - the atmosphere in the ground will be toxic.

But more generally, I doubt we'll get any more reliable information than usual, 5 press conferences today, the rest will be tomorrow as usual.

          Southampton player
          Tadic, Mane or Long
No use captaining Aguero even if he scores 2. That's only 13 points difference. You need to catch up 30

      2. Essrick
        • 11 Years
        9 years, 7 months ago

This is what I need to do. I'm 29 behind, I might bring in Long and captain him or do I bring in Long but captain Aguero (he doesn't have Aguero but does has £5.5m in the bank and 1 FT...)

        1. Fowler23

If I were him I would bring in Kun.
See above. If he does that, very hard to catch up if u captain Kun Have to think on another level. Buy someone he doesn't have.

If OR rank doesn't mean and winning ML matters, you must take a risk at the chance u fall further behind. Simple maths

Just make sure you make a transfer after him. If that value of 5.5m doesn't go down too much he won't have gotten Aguero. And then you armband Aguero all day long.

You have to transfer in someone he doesn't have and armband him. If he ends up picking the same player then thats just unfortunate.

I'd suggest maybe Deeney, Long or Mane.. I think there'd be more of a chance he'd get Tadic so would ignore him.

Did post this on last page but was right near the bottom...

Right chaps, this is where I really need some help!

    I'm sitting 2nd in my ML 29 points behind the leader, he has no chips I only have AOA. This is his team;

    Hart, Mignolet
    Bellerin, Moreno, Monreal, Cresswell, Alderweireld
    Barkley, Lanzini, Payet, Blind, Sanchez
    Lukaku, Defoe, Martial

He has £5.5m ITB and 1 FT.

    This is my team;

    Hennessey, Darlow
    Bellerin, PVA, Azpi, Clyne, Clichy
    Coutinho, Barkley, Lennon, Redmond, Ozil
    Aguero, Lukaku, Welbeck

I have nothing ITB and 1FT.

Obviously I have to remove Welbeck and replace with a punt, I'm thinking maybe Deeney? But then do I take point hits with other players that won't be playing.

I'm really struggling! Any help would be massively appreciated, just need to make up 30 points somewhere...

    Cheers,

    1. HamezMace
      • 11 Years
      9 years, 7 months ago

I'm sorry to say this but you're going to need a small miracle here, I think there is a good chance Coutinho and Ozil won't start this weekend, obviously Welbeck won't either, Lennon didn't start last night for Everton, and Barkley is also looking dead on his feet, so AOA would be somewhat wasted here.

You need to captain Aguero and hope he gets 3-4 goals.

But your rival has a stronger defence, and more nailed on players, plus a 29 point lead....I hope you didn't put too much money down!

      1. Essrick
        • 11 Years
        9 years, 7 months ago

Hahaha I agree but I now believe in miracles after what Leicester achieved!

I'm going to check when his transfer budget goes down to see if he has bought Aguero with his £5.5m or not. If he hasn't I'll swap Welbeck for someone like Long or Deeney and captain Aguero.

If he has clearly bought Aguero, I'll captain the player I bring in!

Should I take -4 or -8 to get those players that won't start/play out or just 1FT and cross my fingers?

ok lads, a bit of advice please

chasing a 7 point, but he is either taking a hit or going without Kun so

    a) Carroll to Long, play Townsend, gets the gap to 3 or leaves it a 7 but with Kun as a differntial
    b) do that move but do Firmino to Tadic for -4 and bench Townsend

set on selling Carroll as he has him so have nothing to gain.

    Hart, Mignolet
    Bellerin, Moreno, Monreal, Cresswell, Alderweireld
    Barkley, Lanzini, Payet, Blind, Sanchez
    Lukaku, Defoe, Martial

He's got £5.5m ITB and 1 FT and knows I have Aguero.

What are the chances he buys Aguero?

I either put the armband on Aguero and bring in Long/Deeney for Welbeck or I put the armband on either of those two that I bring in for ultimate differential points.

If you are 29 points ahead than just slap it Sanchez / Kun and bring in Long. Thats enough of a differential and you should be set.

If he is leading by 29 points i would bring in Long and C him.

    Darlow
    Gabriel Bellerin PVA

Would playing Townsend and having aguero be better than having kdb and giroud for example?

Good question. I'm super scared by not having him.

      Rashford+Hazard vs
      Aguero + play Morgan (-4pts) ?

    Chasing 4pts in ML

    Front 8
Sanchez (C), Payet, Hazard, Mahrez, Townsend
    Sturridge, Carroll, Deeney

    A) Sturridge --> Kane/GIru/Kun
    B) Townsend --> Tadic
    C) A and B for a hit

    Thankx in advance

12 points ahead in my ML.

Opponent has used all chips (as have I) and I rate my team as much superior to his. That said, 12 points is not a massive swing and with luck on his side I'm still a little edgy. With that in mind, is a -4 to bring Giroud in for Carroll justified?

12 Green arrows in a row took me from 602k to 59k, couldn't ask for any better considering my disastrous 1st half for the season.

After 37 rounds I 6 points behind my rival in my ML. * indicates that we have the same(ish) players

    My team:
    DDG*
    Bellerin* - PVA* - Gabriel
    Sanchez* - Payet* - Mahrez* - Hazard
    Aguero* - Kane* - Carroll

    His assumed team:
    Mignolet
    Koscielny* - Smalling* - PVA*/Cresswell/Moreno
    Sanchez* - Payet* - Mahrez* - Firmino/Townsend
    Aguero* - Kane* - Defoe

For my transfer, should I do ...
    1. Mahrez - Mane
    2. Mahrez - Tadic
    4. Hazard - Mane
    5. Hazard - Tadic
    6. Carroll - Long
    7. Other?

He's probably captaining Sanchez. Should I captain ...
    A. Sanchez
    B. Aguero
    C. New signing (Mane/Tadic/Long)
    D. Hazard
    E. Kane

Can you do your 5th mid to Mane/Tadic and bench Carroll? Captain Sanchez

I see I forgot to add my bench. Sadly no, my 5th mid is Lanzini and I only have 0.5 ITB.

Keep hazard. He's a differential for you
      Get Long

      Captain Kun

I agree with this, apart from Captain Sanchez instead. just go for the player who's likely to score the most points.

6 points is such a small margin.
So I think Hazard over Firmino/Townsend is a favorable differential.
so my recommended change would be Carroll to Long.
Leaving you with 2/3 differentials where i believe you have the best of it.
