Our latest round of fixes and improvements have gone live this morning.
The addition of Fantasy Premier League prices is the headline act – something that I know a good number of members have been requesting for some time.
Prices are updated daily and can be found as a sortable column in our player tables.
We’ve also added them as a global filter, allowing you to limit the players shown in a table by a maximum FPL price.
This filter is also available in custom tables, so now you can decide to build tables with a fixed maximum price in mind.
Elsewhere, we’ve added some new statistics in several areas.
Goalkeepers now have the Shots Faced and Shots on Target Faced statistics in their Goalkeeping table. We’ve also used these to calculate a Save Percentage stat. These are all useful numbers for assessing the worth of goalkeeper options.
Total shots conceded, along with total shots on target conceded, have also been added to the Team Stats Defending table. These are key indicators of team defensive form and are also added to team profiles and the team comparison tool.
We’ve also addressed some fixes in our BPS calculation. We’ve discovered that FPL does not register a save for a goalkeeper unless the shot was considered on target, so we’ve now addressed that. In addition, own goals were not factored into our Winning Goal statistic. That has been corrected.
We plan some further BPS work in the next update. We’re still not convinced on our Net Tackles calculation and will be sanity checking that against Gameweek 5 data – expect that to be tweaked in the next update.
Finally, we spotted a bug in our heatmaps display of chances created conceded. The positions were inverted when data was filtered for home or away matches only – we’ve now fixed this.
Oh, and before we go, we’ve also added a fix that should correct the auto scrolling issue that some users were suffering in Chrome. We recommend that you update to the new version if you’re still seeing this issue.
What’s coming next?
The big news is that we’re expecting to integrate both expected goals and expected assists on our test servers later this month.
We’re not sure if that’s going to make update six, but we would certainly be optimistic on update seven.
However, the main emphasis now and for the next two to three months will be HomeCrowd.
Mat will be getting up to speed with this code and our first step will be to optimise what we have, in preparation for some new features and tweaks.
I hope to bring you an update on that work, and expected goals, by the end of the month.
