Our latest round of fixes and improvements have gone live this morning.

The addition of Fantasy Premier League prices is the headline act – something that I know a good number of members have been requesting for some time.

Prices are updated daily and can be found as a sortable column in our player tables.

We’ve also added them as a global filter, allowing you to limit the players shown in a table by a maximum FPL price.

This filter is also available in custom tables, so now you can decide to build tables with a fixed maximum price in mind.

Elsewhere, we’ve added some new statistics in several areas.

Goalkeepers now have the Shots Faced and Shots on Target Faced statistics in their Goalkeeping table. We’ve also used these to calculate a Save Percentage stat. These are all useful numbers for assessing the worth of goalkeeper options.

Total shots conceded, along with total shots on target conceded, have also been added to the Team Stats Defending table. These are key indicators of team defensive form and are also added to team profiles and the team comparison tool.

We’ve also addressed some fixes in our BPS calculation. We’ve discovered that FPL does not register a save for a goalkeeper unless the shot was considered on target, so we’ve now addressed that. In addition, own goals were not factored into our Winning Goal statistic. That has been corrected.

We plan some further BPS work in the next update. We’re still not convinced on our Net Tackles calculation and will be sanity checking that against Gameweek 5 data – expect that to be tweaked in the next update.

Finally, we spotted a bug in our heatmaps display of chances created conceded. The positions were inverted when data was filtered for home or away matches only – we’ve now fixed this.

Oh, and before we go, we’ve also added a fix that should correct the auto scrolling issue that some users were suffering in Chrome. We recommend that you update to the new version if you’re still seeing this issue.

What’s coming next?

The big news is that we’re expecting to integrate both expected goals and expected assists on our test servers later this month.

We’re not sure if that’s going to make update six, but we would certainly be optimistic on update seven.

However, the main emphasis now and for the next two to three months will be HomeCrowd.

Mat will be getting up to speed with this code and our first step will be to optimise what we have, in preparation for some new features and tweaks.

I hope to bring you an update on that work, and expected goals, by the end of the month.

You can see our current task list and track our progress through the next update via this roadmap.

You can also send your feedback and requests to me at mark@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk

Our previous updates are detailed here, here, here and here.

A reminder that, if you want access to this update and other future additions to the members’ area, you can sign up now for £12.50. This is due to increase to £15 very, very soon, so get in quick if you’re wavering.

Existing registered users can upgrade via this link. New users, who are yet to get a registered account, can sign up via this link.

If you’re new to the benefits of Fantasy Football Scout membership, you can get full details, along with a series of movies previewing the content, via this page.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Long doesn't start, but low ownership means won't go down in price either

Is Alonso essential if on WC?

Seen quite a bit of promotion recently but trying to have him in my team is akin to Kane; looks unbalanced and damages my options badly.

Just because they didn't sign Alex Sandro doesn't mean he is rotation proof (Azpilicueta, Zappacosta, Rudiger can all fill in) and suspect they won't get as many clean sheets (17?) this season.

It appears the best way to get him in is to have Abraham as 3rd striker, if you don't want budget defenders and two cheap midfielders.

Anyone managed to assemble a good squad with Alonso in?

I don't think any player is really essential. However, and I know this has been said on here before but I basically treat him as a 5th mid in a 3-4-3 - at 7.0 I think he will pay that off and then some this season and when you compare him to 7.0 Mid or Fwd, he provides the best value.

Exactly. If he was a 7m midfielder those fixtures wouldn't faze you.

They aren't ideal. I'm find holding - Finding 7.0 to spend on a defender without a wildcard will be tough for most without a hit or two. I'd be really happy with any kind of return from 2 of 4 and I think that's possible.

currently on WC trying to shoe-horn him in. Its tricky but at present i have

That's similar to what I was looking at but it kills your defence, goalkeeper and midfield (to a small extent). That is a good line-up though.

I have no concerns. He is excellent value and on set pieces for a top team (oh, and he's deadly at them).

Also, with defender rotation, if he does get rested he's likely not to make the squad, or at least not come off the bench. This means if you have a decent bench you won't lose too many points if it does happen.

To Mark or any mod who's around : I'm afraid the update hasn't fixed the scrolling problem for me.

Tested on Windows 10, on Chrome (Version 61.0.3163.79 (Build officiel) (64 bits)), and Opera (47.0.2631.80 (PGO)). Just updated both to the latest build.

Anybody else still experiencing the issue?

I should note that, like before, the bug doesn't occur when I'm logged in, so it's really just a minor annoyance.

Like many of us i'm sure Coleen will be agonising over her international break WildCard options.
Cash in on Wayne's value now and get rid... or keep him and see if he comes good?
Upgrade him to Morata? Better hair and he doesn't score away from home as often. Home Captaincy option.

BDavies a good call on WC? Thinking to go without Kane (choice between him and Lukaku) so a double up with Eriksen is tempting. Would give me a back 5 of Alonso / Davies / Naughton / Mee or Lowe / Mbemba with Caroll and another 4.5 as 4th and 5th mid.

Other option is to get Atsu in and replace Davies with Cedric or Jones with a view to replacing with Maguire in due course if still looking good.

      Any thoughts? Cheers.
