→ The 2014/15 season was Sergio Aguero's best ever for Fantasy returns. Seven of his goals/assists and 36 of his FPL points came in two meetings with which club that year? Scout Betting

With a bag full of points from the Scout Picks last gameweek, it was a surprise to see our Paddy Power wallet containing nothing but a used train ticket and a couple of crumpled receipts. Robert Huth’s early red card set the tone, with Sergio Aguero’s goal and a win at 4/5 the only market to come in. With Talent and Watchlist figures Gylfi Sigurdsson and Yakubu Aiyegbeni the main course of this week’s Flutter, it’s sure to be a feeding frenzy of rich returns.

The Yak is back. Whilst serving his three-match ban for a red card against Fulham, Yakubu’s Blackburn have slipped from their manager-saving form, topped off by a trouncing by Arsenal last weekend. Seemingly a talisman for the Kean revival, the sorely-missed striker will be essential to their tactics against visiting QPR on Saturday. Paddy have priced up a goal and a win at 5/2 and a brace at 9/1 . Both are tempting, but £2 on the former opens our account for another game-week.

Gylfi Sigurdsson has been around a bit since his early loan spells at Shrewsbury and Crewe. A 16-goal season for Reading and subsequent sale to Hoffenheim have cultured the 22 year old into a real creative force for the Swansea midfield. A pound at 20/1 for him to score and assist against visiting Norwich is a long price and a bit of a risk, but one worth taking since he performed the same feat against West Brom last week on the road.

Clint Dempsey has been the mainstay for Fantasy line-ups for many seasons now, always commanding a decent performance to Fantasy point conversion. Not a cheap prospect, but neither the lavish cost of Silva or Nani, Dempsey’s price of 8.9 is likely to continue to rise with favourable home and away fixtures coming up. A visit from Stoke may well be one of the tougher clashes of the next few, but Paddy’s offering of 5/2 on a Dempsey goal and a Fulham win is not short on confidence. A £4 stake here should bring home £14; a decent wager considering suspended Robert Huth will only be able to track Dempsey’s runs from the sidelines.

Last week’s ‘Who Will Score the Most’ market turned in a respectable 5 goals, and although our pick Demba Ba was among those on the score sheet, Robin van Persie’s battering of Blackburn left us empty handed. This week Rooney, RVP and Aguero are in the mix, but perhaps facing off against tougher competition. Aguero at 15/8 is the longest price of the trio as City travel to Villa, but with only a couple of quid left from our tenner bank roll, it might be a risk worth taking.

Money Back Special

All eyes will be on Old Trafford for the early Gameweek 25 kick-off between Man United and Liverpool tomorrow lunchtime. No surprise, then, to see Paddy focus on this one for this week’s Money Back Special. If Luis Suarez scores a goal at any point in the match, Paddy Power will refund all losing 1st /last goalscorer, correct score & scorecast singles. Paddy have also turned their attentions to this weekend’s Six Nations Rugby. If a number 11 scores the first try in the Italy v England, France v Ireland or Wales v Scotland clashes, Paddy Power will refund all losing try scorer bets on that match.

    1. Really feel like I should have Dempsey in. Do I need him and, if so, for who?

Spurs had no VDV, Lennon or Defoe at Anfield and with Ade in lazy mode lately Bale was the only outlet for Spurs so he was fighting a losing battle. Plus WHL is a completely different proposition.

I'm not. As horrible as Stoke are they can be a really awkward team to play against and it could drag Fulham into a scrappy game so i'm going for the best option of an open attacking football match where Bale could flourish.

Fair point but I need to play catch up and I know Siggy will be popular in the higher echelons of my mini league (for a reason I hear you say). Tarrabt looks to be finding some form and with the full backing of his manager could do well against a Sambaless Blackburn.

It's full of uncertainty. There is the Chelsea back 4 that most of us would pick, then there is the one that AVB would pick but even then he has more options than he probably needs right now. Bosingwa is the worst out of that lot but is the only natural RB they have and is Portuguese (AVB's favourite). Luiz is a bit of a bombscare and is either brilliant or bollocks and Cahill is the most steady of the 3 but I still don't have a clue.

It funds Ba tfer next week. Or is Donovan at home a better hope for points his week. Then I could do Taraabt and Ba in next week with 2 free tfers. With the way i've got my team, happy with GKs, happy with defence, 3 of my midfield + McClean and attack - i can just swap my 5th midfielder for whichever sub 6.2 midfielder is the best punt that week.

So i'll have my season keepers and then be able to make a 1 week punt every week. Sound stupid or reckon it might work?

There will always be injuries, unexpected drops in form, rotation and everything else that will mean this will never work. Despite the fact that every time you WC you think - well I couldn't improve this team any more, in a couple of weeks there are always problems..

Henry's last game so I reckon RVP won't play anywhere near 90 mins so I'm going with Aguero.

Shotton to Kelly or Caulker is much better than Taiwo.

Play Krul for the save potential and sort out Lindegaard next week.

Right, looks like I'm gonna go:

    Huth > A Cole

    To leave me with:

    Mig
    Kompany/A Cole/Kelly
    Bale/Dempsey/Silva/Dyer
    RVP/Aguero/Ba

    Subs: Sorenson/McClean/Evans/Shawcross

    Looking good?

I don't think ACole is worth the price, but even short term he can easily end up scoring the same or less points as Evans on your bench.

Get Ivanovic if you must get a Chelsea defender, at least it's not such an extreme rip-off.

Ok my team is done, still not sure about Habsi vs Mignolet and I'm pretty unhappy about Taiwo bench, but I slightly prefer Evans.

    Habsi
    BAE - Evans - Richards
    Siggy - Demps (vc) - Bale (c) - Sess - Silva
    RVP - Dzeko

    Mig, Ba, Taiwo, Simpson

Taiwo very unlikely to get clean sheet points, Liverpool are poor upfront and Evans can even get a bonus if ManU keep it clean.

Have I selected the right starting 11 and any need to make transfers (1.1m in the bank)?

    Ruddy (Mignolet)
Richards – Kelly – Taiwo (Simpson, Caulker)
Dempsey (c) – Silva (vc) – Bale – Siggy (Sess)
    Ba – RVP – Aguero

I have Dzeko (bought him after Balo's suspension). I feel that if Dzeko lights it up this week, I cannot see Mancini starting Baloteli right away as he is already in his "dog house" for being un controllable. That said, if you do not have Dzeko now, i'd be hesitant to bring him in now.
After the next 2 game weeks, I will probably not keep a City striker in my squad.

Besides, Aguero looks to me like he is playing deeper on the paremeter last few games.
