Gameweek 28 enters it’s second day of action, which sees the top two sides in the country play simultaneously before the televised Norwich City versus Wigan Athletic game. Despite no TV coverage for either of the Manchester clubs’ games (in this country at least), the Dugout Discussion opens nonetheless to follow the events at the top.

The teams sheets from both our 2pm games are in and, starting at Old Trafford, are as follows…

Man Utd XI: De Gea, Jones, Ferdinand, Evans, Evra, Young, Carrick, Scholes, Welbeck, Rooney, Hernandez.

West Brom XI: Foster, Tamas, McAuley, Olsson, Ridgewell, Odemwingie, Andrews, Morrison, Mulumbu, Brunt, Fortune.

Having been turned over by Athletic Bilbao on Thursday, Sir Alex makes several changes with Rio Ferdinand, Michael Carrick, Paul Scholes and Danny Welbeck all returning the the starting eleven. West Brom make a couple of alterations, with Gabriel Tamas and Chris Brunt installed in the starting line-up.

Swansea XI: Vorm, Rangel, Williams, Caulker, Taylor, Allen, Britton, Sinclair, Sigurdsson, Routledge, Graham.

Man City XI: Hart, Richards, Savic, Toure, Clichy, Barry, De Jong, Nasri, Toure Yaya, Silva, Balotelli.

The home side are without the suspended Nathan Dyer, so in comes Wayne Routledge in what is their only change from their previous outing. The league-leaders are much changed following their midweek defeat in Portugal. Roberto Mancini takes another gamble away from home by starting Mario Balotelli on his own, leaving Sergio Aguero on the substitutes bench.

    This has been an awful GW for me so far, but all this horror will be beautifully swept away if Arsenal - Newcastle turns out to be a repeat of Chelsea, Spurs, or Milan. RVP(C) - I TRUST YOU

    1. Started Schwarzer and benched Vorm
    2. Switched armband from Rooney to Suarez

    Hope Suarez will do something to compensate these (seem to be) poor decisions in the 2nd game.. 🙁

          And it is good reason. I mean you do have to weigh these things up. I was told to go for Pilk instead of Drenthe. While Drenthe hasn't done brilliant this week, he at least started. At the same time, I was thinking of getting Kuyt in and a lot of people were very against it. So I didn't, got Drenthe and used the funds to do Ba -> Rooney which has paid off. It is a tough call at times, if I had been in your position I would have done it just to get Rooney in.

    Lost on last page

    Should I get rid of silva? Any other player I would have ages ago but silva had this aurora that he was essential. I dnt think he is anymore, good point total start of the season but poor returns for a while now

    Last season he wasn’t the point machine either so maybe his bubble fpl wise has burst?

      I think that, between now and the end of the season, he'll be out-pointed by Dempsey, Bale, Lampard or Mata, and 1 of the MU boys... just impossible to tell which. But yes, I see no reason not to ship him out, he's just been like a comfort blanket this whole season, but look at his recent point history. Very poor for 3 DAMN MONTHS.

    For some reason FPL seem to think Joe Hart only played 72 minutes and thus kept his clean sheet. Didn't watch the game, but that didn't happen right? They have him on 11 pts, which would distress me no end if it stands...

      That is why i've gone for 3 cheap/mid priced mids and one big uptop and in defence. Cheap mids are performing, less expectation and a lot easier to get rid of.

        Lol, I know it is only a game, but its no fun when things constantly go wrong
        If I knew Lescott was out I would have sold Richards, and probably played Caulker to be honest, if Jol hadnt lied I would have sold Senderos instead of Kelly, saving money and gaining a CS too

        Plan for the last two weeks was Rooney and Evans in, but the Bloomin' DGW threw me

      You same to be quite emotionally invested in what is only a free game on a website... It's fun and frustrating at times but no need to lose the head over it, I've had a dire season and have had to spend it clawing my way back up. Still enjoy it every week.

    Two things:

    - I take it Yaya Toure played in a deeper role after Aguero came on? And what are his chances of playing higher next game? I'm considering axing Silva.

    - Thoughts on Drogba? Obviously this would require waiting two or three weeks to see if he's going to start consistently under RDM, but if so, could he be a 3rd striker after Rooney and RVP? He could be a great differential in the later weeks.

      If he starts consistently then definitely an option, I wouldn't go too far out of your way to get him in though as he isnt up to his best and I doubt he will for the reason of the season either along with the general form of chelsea, they've got some important games now thought and theyre must wins

    its strange

    on paper Norwich is a dream budget team, but somehow none of their players are interesting

    defenders cant keep cleans

    midfield is a rotation nightmare

    and striker spots are just too precious
