Gameweek 13 of Fantasy Premier League could prove the most difficult for the captaincy this season.

Both Manchester City and Liverpool are on the road this weekend which robs us of the opportunity to back a Salah or Aguero home captaincy.

Meanwhile, Chelsea travel to Spurs leaving the door open for a differential to prove the most popular. But is he the right option to go with?…

Captain Poll

Gameweek 13 sees a surprise leader emerge at the top of the poll in Everton’s Richarlison (£7.0m). No player has garnered more than the Brazilian’s 33.47% backing in the vote so far and when we dig a little deeper, it’s easy to see why. The makeshift centre-forward has three goals and one assist since Gameweek 8, recording an average of 6.6 points per match in his last five league outings. This weekend he goes up against a Cardiff City side conceding 2.2 goals per away match this season.

Below Richarlison is a selection of captaincy household names that have not quite earned the usual support from their owners. Mohamed Salah (£13.0m) and Sergio Aguero (£11.5m) have rotated home fixtures quite nicely so far this season but both of them are away this weekend. For that reason, just 22.53% of our voters think Salah is worth captaining at Watford with even fewer (16.89%) supporting Aguero at West Ham.

The last time the pair were ruled out of the captaincy (when they faced each other in Gameweek 8) we were fortunate enough to see Eden Hazard (£11.3m) present a favourable trip to Southampton. This week Chelsea are away at Tottenham, pulling the Belgian out of widespread consideration. Accordingly, he looks set for a 10th-place finish in the captain poll with just 1.59% of the votes.

Raheem Sterling (£11.2m) heads up the best of the rest outside of the this week’s top three with 4.73% backing, after two goals and three assists in the last three Gameweeks.

He is followed by Anthony Martial (£7.6m), whose six goals in five matches has convinced 3.93% of you that he is the optimum captain for Gameweek 13 when Manchester United host Crystal Palace.

After that, it’s Salah’s Liverpool colleague Sadio Mané (£9.9m) with a 1.94% share.

Matt Doherty‘s (£4.9m) potential for big returns against Huddersfield has convinced 1.68% of our voters to back him for the armband, no defender has more backing for Gameweek 13.

Despite boasting more encouraging underlying statistics than team-mate Richarlison, Gylfi Sigurdsson (£7.5m) sits way down in ninth on the captain poll. That is almost certainly as a result of his current fitness issues, although his price does mean that his ownership is 20.6% lower than his Brazilian colleague.

Get that Martial flag off! It's an utter disgrace that it's still on.

Take a chill. Why do you care so much about it? If you know forfor a fact he is fit, whats the problem?

because I suspect his flag hasnt come off so quickly because he's not owned by a certain somebody, whereas Doherty is owned by the same person and his flag was removed!

I dont want Martial dropping in price because people think he's still flagged, when he quite clearly shouldnt be

      Genuine question.
Is it easier for a player to rise in price if he has a flag?
I know the opposite is true, so would make sense.

    Hi!

Tempted by taking a hit with Maddison --> Richarlison. 0,3 ITB atm. I could go with Fraser/Maddison but think Richarlison could have a big haul this weekend. What do you think?

    Alisson - Hamer
    Alonso - Robertson - Laporte - Doherty
    Hazard - Mané - Maddison - Martial
    Arna - Aguero

Bench: Fraser - Success - AWB

    Cheers!

Robbo has doubts over his participation, Klopp might bench him after two IB fixtures and PSG next in CL, so I'd bench him instead of Alonso in case Robbo makes a cameo appearance.

I'd bench Fabianski, Robbo, Hoj, Arnie. Or sub Bellerin in favour of Robbo then if Robbo misses the game you have Arnie/Bellerin to come on.

Too fuzzy at the moment, I'd like Dele Alli, Ozil, Kane etc but none are showing form.

      Monitoring over next few GW's

Probably Trippier, mayby Alli or Lacazette.

Bellerin, Kane, and looking at Schurrle or Sess as an enabler if Ranieri looks like sorting Fulham out.

So much disorder in teams means a hit this week should be well cushioned so pulled the trigger on Martial. Despite fixtures I just can't tolerate Maddison any more

    PAT
    ROBBO, ALONSO, DIGNE, DOCH
    SALAH, MANE, RICH, MARTIAL
    AGUERO WILSON

    (ARNIE, HOIJ, AWB) (LOSSL)

    seem sane?

Seeing loads of people on here saying they're captaining Doherty this week. Absolutely pathetic individuals that are looking for attention. You're not smart. You're not clever. You're not a maverick. Salah vs Watford and Agüero vs West Ham are the obvious choices. Grow up and learn how to play or go back to your Facebook groups like the rest of the casuals.

It's not pathetic at all imo, many have captained Alonso in the past.

It is as good as any week to take a punt. Because others don't play it the way you do, that's up to them Bro

Agreed, it's not a sensible choice. But some people don't like to play too sensibly and like to have a bit more fun.

This place must have shares in Aguero and Salah or something... get's soo boring!

If people want to captain someone else then it's down to them. And if that proves to be clever and smart then good on them.

    Good to go?

    Fabianski
    Doherty Alonso Robbo Digne
    Hazard Salah(c) Richarlison Martial
    Aguero Arnautovic

    Hamer, Success, Hojbjerg, AWB.

    Correct bench order?
    1.5 ITB 0 FT.

    A. Good to go
    B. Jimenez in for Success, for a hit, and put Arnie first on bench (or Robbo?)

Where would you invest gathered funds? I'm reluctatnt to take another hit this week, so this transfers will be made from GW 14 onwards.

Now, to start Arnie or try Shaqiri?

I cannot see him starting away in Paris midweek, so might get a run out this weekend do we think? I read Klopps comments, but doesnt really give you much..

I don't have any City defenders now Mendy has gone, so maybe I should just stick the talisman in.

      Surely you must start both.

I'm starting both Arnie and Shaqiri, but if I had to choose it's easily Shaqiri. As you said they have a tough midweek CL match, and Shaqiri has been in form lately. Shaqiri will start.

I'd rather start Shaquiri. Better fixture and form.
