No Gylfi pleasure for me, Dempsey heartbreak more like. A trip to the Cottage inspired the decision to throw my FPL armband the way of Captain America, only for Sigurdsson to steal the thunder and banish me to a miserable tube ride home.

Mark lends an (un)sympathetic ear in this latest episode, as we roll through the regulars whilst discussing how we’re all heading back to the drawing board for our third striker solution.

        Huh. I don't think Baines is fixture proof. Everton aren't offering much going forward, nor do they look assured of a cleanie.

        Andrews played 11 minutes at the end of the last game and got a couple of decent shots in. He's a bit of a punt, but West Brom are on form.

        If Cahill doesn't start he's unlikely to feature. And yeah, I fancy Andrews prospects over Simpson's in WBA-Newcastle...

    Do I have the right bench? I don’t like the fact Caulker is on my bench with a home fixture against Everton and Ba away at WBA but I have a feeling Surman may do well against Wolves.

        I get tour thinking that he may not do too well away at Swansea BUT surely there is not point having baines at 7.8m and not playing him? Always a chance (even if less this year) of attacking returns?

          Which is my reason never to own him, since you always feel compelled to play him even in difficult away games. Also you have Siggy in direct opposition to Baines.

            Fair point about baines. Although I disagree about Siggy vs Baines as surely you cant pin all your hope on Siggy/Swansea scoring but at least 1 out of the two could do well. Would you bench Bale this week if you had Cahill/ or other Chels def in? Or Bench Evans if playing Dempsey or bench Hart if playing Walters or Zamora if playing mignolet?

          The 7.8M price tag shouldn't stop you from benching him - but what would make me uneasy is having a guy who takes penalites on the bench.

              If it was me, I'd be playing Baines over Surman - But odds on Surman to score with PP are 10/3, whereas Baines is 15/2, so Paddy thinks Surman is twice as likely to score. Factor in Baines 3 extra CS points and a better chance of assisting and it's a little closer - but Surman probably still edges it. But it looks like a couple of 2-pointers to me anyway, so a good chance that it won't really matter which one you choose.

        Morning Granville. I trust all well on your side. Listened to the scout cast.Sounds like you are happy with Yak as 3rd striker. I would be too. at least he is outscoring the more expensive Ba!

        Frustrating though If one has Ba, like me. I'm holding just because I don't know where else to look. Every week I'm hoping the answer will be "blowin in the wind"...

    Please excuse re-post but put this on earlier when it seems 99% of the world was asleep-

    Morning all, feel like we are hitting a vital point of the season be it if we are chasing or leading.

    I have so many half plans but cant seem to make any decisions.

    Krul/ Ruddy
    Kompany/ Evans/ McAulaey/ Williamson/Kelly
    Valencia/Bale/Dempsey/Miyachi/Moses
    RVP/Rooney/Ba

    Some future ideas were-
    Krul to Bogdan- better fixtures and a double to come
    Kelly to Wilkinson- better fixtures and rotates well with Williamson
    Moses to Y Toure
    Ba to Graham (if done Moses cld become Walcott)

    Are any of these ideas sound/idiotic or can any of you see a beter way of improving my team.

    No free transfer left this week and 1.9 in the bank.

      I'd be inclined to play Miyaichi instead of Silva or Ba.

      Thats just me probably, but Bolton need something out of this game and they need to drag Blackburn back into the dogfight at the bottom.

      The events of last week will either galvanise them now or it will finish them off for good.

      Either way though, I'd be inclined to gamble on Miyaichi this weekend over those 2 who are currently not punching their weight in FPL terms.

        I would agree looking at the fixtures. ManU and Bolton have 3 good fixtures coming up, but Bolton dont really score much.

        Dont forget though that Arsenal, Fulham and Stoke have 2 good games in the next 3, so could get decent hauls in those two games.

        That said, you would expect Evans and Valencia/Nani/Young to have the best chance of scoring big points.

      Probably just me, but I'd play Caulker over McClean

      Looks good SZ. I'd be slightly wary about Caulker on the bench. Given how easy Liverpool imploded against QPR, i'd be tempted to not risk the double up and play Caulker for Enrique(hardly any attacking threat). I know it's only Wigan but they're fighting for survival, and do look dangerous when attacking. They have a good record over Liverpool in recent seasons too. Swansea are notoriously strong at home, and Caulker is a bp magnet.

      That would be my only qualm. Who's the captain?

      After wednesday night I'm not too sure about doubling on Liverpool defence. I know it's Wigan, but I would be tempted to spread the risk and play Caulker instead.
