Captains

Vote in the Double Gameweek 32 captain poll

Manchester City are expected to dominate the Double Gameweek 32 captaincy as they prepare to face Fulham and host Cardiff City.

You can now vote in the latest poll embedded in the article below or in the sidebar of the website.

The Cottagers have the worse defence in the Premier League having conceded 70 goals this season, while only the Cottagers themselves and Huddersfield have fewer points away from home than the Bluebirds in 2018/19.

Sergio Aguero (£11.8m) and Raheem Sterling (£11.6m) are the obvious go-to options, but some Fantasy managers may want to assess whether they will start in both matches of the Double Gameweek. We’ve done some research into that already, incidentally.

David Silva (£8.5m) and Bernardo Silva (£7.5m) will probably be the most considered in midfield with Leroy Sané (£9.3m) looking very much out of favour right now.

However, with Free Hit chips looking popular this week, there are expected to be a number of premium-priced candidates in all positions. For example, it’s not just Manchester City’s attacking assets that are worth considering in Gameweek 32 though. Aymeric Laporte (£5.9m), Ederson (£5.6m) and Kyle Walker (£6.4m) can offer fairly secure routes into a defence that has kept four clean sheets in the last five Premier League matches.

Rivals Manchester United also have a few options worth looking at as they host Watford and travel to Molineux to face Wolves.

Paul Pogba (£8.9m) has been a reliable asset for most of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s time at Manchester United, although has admittedly dropped in recent weeks.

Romelu Lukaku (£10.8m) has rediscovered his form while Marcus Rashford (£7.6m) can still offer value.

Eden Hazard (£10.9m) is also part of the conversation with some incredible fixtures for Chelsea.

The Blues travel to Cardiff at the weekend before hosting Brighton midweek.

Defensive options such as David Luiz (£5.9m), Marcos Alonso (£6.4m) and Kepa Arrizabalaga (£5.4m) might also end up on the captaincy radar with neither of Chelsea’s opponents offering much goal threat.

Two fixtures for Harry Kane (£12.4m) and his Spurs colleagues might put himself into the conversation as an alternative captain option.

His first fixture is against Liverpool, which might put some off, but after that, it’s a home match against Crystal Palace.

Interesting most people think Aguero is the better captain option

His performance in the last dgw was out of character in terms of this seasons performances

His performance wasnt even great. Take away his long shot vs Chelsea they were all easy goals to score that were offered to him by some atrocious defending

Unbelievable luck for his owners at the time

And prior to arsenal he’d had only 2 double digit hauls all season - his average was more like 7 points

Sterling on the other hand has now had 8 double digit hauls compared to Agueros 4

That's his style of play mate. Kun just knows where to position himself. Positional awareness is the most important element for a striker and its either you have it or not.
Does the name Pipo Inzaghi ring a bell to you?

          Hated him.

I know what you mean but for two of his 6 goals, 2 had nrh to do with positional awareness. They were just gifts coming out the blue.
Another one was offside, I think

Yes I hated Milano and Juve growing up. Always winning, often awarded dubious pens and stuff, so I obviously hated that guy with his scrappy goals he always celebrated like it was a World Cup fina winning goal. Hated his face, hated him.

But he was a great player of course. Which doesnt mean I had to like him does it?

Schlupp Dunk Deulofeu not nailed on to start both.

Schlupp, you know it; Deulofeu because of FA Cup semi. Dunk same (more likely to start both because relegation fight but it’s not a given).

I thought Hudson-Odoi looked lively for England last night, Sancho played well, and of course Sterling played very well. Kane was ponderous and his weak penalty covered up an average game and I wasn't overly impressed with Dele. Barkley looked strong and the midfield played well.

It got me thinking about the summer transfer market, with many England players in transfer rumours including Trippier this morning.

Which England players do you think will be moving and where do you think they'll go? Trippier to Everton? Sancho to the PL? Will Maguire move?

Which England players need, or deserve a move to get to the next level?

I guess anyone not playing enough needs to move. Although Hudson-Odoi being called up by England is shameful. Sends the wrong message. Next Foden will be in the Euro 2020 squad.

Chelsea should be funny with Hazard wanting to go and the transfer ban. Maybe they'll have to actually play Hudson-Odoi.

Sancho has shown the way now for all the Chelsea, Man U, Arsenal, Liverpool and City benchwarmers.

Why is calling up Hudson-Odoi shameful, apart from showing up his club manager who thinks he won't be ready to start till he's 23?

It's not ridiculous like it was when Fabio Capello included Theo Walcott in his World Cup squad.

RLC the obvious one who needs to move on. The other forgotten 'wonderkid' of English football Ryan Sessegnon has a decision to make this summer as to where he plays next season.

The top clubs will have to be looking at English players as they all need to fill their homegrown quotas (City are maxed out with their 17 foreign players and Jesus will no longer be U21 next season, Chelsea are maxed out and Cahill/Drinkwater will leave, Arsenal are maxed out and are losing Ramsey/Welbeck).

Some good options for players with a single match:
    - Vardy vs. a leaky Bournemouth defence
    - Mane on fire at the moment
    - Arsenal at home to Newcastle, who have have let in six goals in their last three

Yea it’s bound to happen, Mane, Vardy, Wilson/King could all easily get double digit hauls. The problem is the odds favour the DGWer so you don’t know who to drop, or which of them to keep ahead of time. Hopefully with 11 DGWs your GW score would be high enough that a Mane brace for the few playing him this week wouldn’t effect your OR much

Going absolutely insane choosing between these two teams. Bit of help appreciated, please!

    A)

    De Gea, Hamer
    Rudiger, Luiz, Doherty, Laporte, Connolly
Sterling, Hazard, Pogba, Ward Prowse, Puncheon
    Jimenez, Aguero, Rashy

    B)

    Kepa, Hamer
    Luiz, Schlupp, Laporte, Connolly, Smalling
Sterling, Hazard, Oriol Romeu, Pogba, McDonald
    Aguero, Kane, Quaner.

Definitely not B that is almost a 4-3-2.

A is better but I’d do:
      DDG - Kepa,
      Rudiger - Smalling,
Doherty - Dunk (for bench cover), then upgrade JWP to Milivojevic

Ah well it’s not a huge sacrifice to go Dunk. I like that team. Tbh either Deeney or delu is a good punt but delu has a higher pts ceiling

    I'm torn between:

    A) Sane, Pereyra, WanBissaka
    B) Alli, Knockaert, Laporte

Basically triple city attack or a city defender?

I've thought about both aswell as could then go Son or something over Pogba. Just feel he's essential as so many will have him and on pens plus good form

I’d veer towards Jota or Delu then. They have shown the ability to get 20pt hauls, and (though unlikely again), maybe opt for the higher ceiling if looking to climb.

The guys form this season has been amazing.

Yes there is a chance he may be rested, perhaps for the Man United game but I think it's worth the gamble.

I'm considering him, Deeney or Delu atm. All viable options imo and could haul in the favoured game even if rested the 2nd. High risk high reward. Defo would've kept Jimi if I hadn't sold last week

Slowly getting there... Lukaku or Rash injury news will help, be a shame if they both only started 1 though.

    A) Lukaku, Azpi, AWB
    B) Rash, Son, Smalling

    1. Alpharius
      • 5 Years

      I like A
If fit Watford and Wolves are the type of games Lukaku scores in. Azpi better chance of cleanies than Smalling I think and Son is a rotation risk with not great fixtures imo

Looks like Kane is eating too much value in your team. Maybe downgrade to Lukaku and improve defence or get another attacker.

      1. Red Rock
        • 6 Years
        5 years, 8 days ago

I agree, i'm not 100% convinced with Spurs this season, but at the same time not having Kane in a double is scary.

Downgrading to Lukaku allows me to get David Luiz instead of double Palace def, i may run with that

      2. Red Rock
        • 6 Years
        5 years, 8 days ago

Or do Kane, Hudson-Odoi, Lindelof, Ederson -> Rashford, B.Silva, Luiz, De Gea

        And go 4-4-2

        1. Miguel Sanchez
          • Fantasy Football Scout Member
          • 7 Years

That second option could work. I don't quite get the love for B.Silva over a City defender/GK personally. If Lukaku has foot problems as is being reported and Rashford returns you could suddenly make huge changes.

We're all ignoring arsenal, rightly so I guess given the odds favour DGW players. Just have a feeling we'll all be wondering why none of even gave them a second thought once the GW completes
