June discount on Scout Membership nearly over

The June discount for 2019/20 Fantasy Football Scout memberships for 2019/20 is coming to an end soon.

This year the cheaper price of £12.50 runs only until June 30.

From July 1 onwards the cost of Scout Membership for the new campaign will be £17.50.

This is a £2.50 increase on the usual price of full season Memberships.

Over the years we have made steady improvements to what our Members can enjoy and we will be re-investing back into the site to enhance it further in 2019/20.

However, we recognise the support of our loyal members which is why we ran the usual discounted rate of £12.50 until July 1.

If you’re new to the benefits of Fantasy Football Scout membership, you can get full details, along with a series of movies previewing the content, via this page.

In 2018/19 we published more Members articles than ever before, and plan to produce at least 150 in the 2019/20 campaign.

We also introduced Members only comments and Hot Topics to allow for detailed discussions of content behind the pay-wall.

Our projections and Rate My Team tool have both been tweaked with the former updated more often than in previous seasons.

We are also hugely excited to introduce the brand new Flat-Track Bully feature which allows Members to conduct research in greater detail.

Using this new feature you can customise which matches form part of your tables and comparisons and which do not, based on the opposing team.

This will help you identify players who perhaps perform better against weaker opposition, Flat-Track Bullies, or maybe those who thrive against the top teams like Raúl Jiménez did in 2018/19.

We will be releasing other new features when the June discount expires on July 1 so stay tuned on that front.

Last season, we helped Adam Levy to become the reigning Fantasy Premier League champion.

In his recent interview, he said: “I always sign up pre-season for £12.50 as I think that’s good value for the members’ content.”

In previous seasons we’ve helped FPL winners Tom Fenley and Simon March, while in 2015/16 we were thrilled to see Ed Masters – the winner of that year’s Members League – finish third in the overall rankings.

In 2017/18, Paul Gee went one better. He won our members’ league and finished second, losing out to champion Yusuf Sheikh by just eight points.

We are hugely grateful to those who show their support by signing up as a member each season. This continues to enable us to maintain the site, grow the FFS team and develop more ideas.

Members can switch between competitions to mine the data using an array of tables. Our comparison tools for players and teams can also be used to make head-to-head comparisons.

Filters can be applied to take into account only the last two, four and six matches played by a team or player.

Meanwhile, the match dashboard offers analysis of each match, together with charts which plot average positions and our collection of heatmaps for touches, shots, chances created among other statistics.

Members can also create custom tables based on the data and share them with other members.

The most famous of these is Joe’s Goals Imminent table which has a hugely successful rate for accurately predicting which underperforming assets will find the net next.

We will be producing a new preview movie highlighting what is available next week.

Our pre-season features begin with access to our members season ticker tool on or around June 13 with the announcement of the Premier League fixtures, with our Rate My Team tool and Player Projections to follow once the Fantasy Premier League player list is confirmed.

Having added new features over the last year – including Expected Goals data and Heatmaps – we’ll also be bringing back our Development Squad updates as we gear up to realise more ideas and bring you more tools to help enhance your Fantasy campaigns.

If you’ve any feedback or suggestions of content that you’d like to see added to the members offering, then please feel free to drop us a line at support@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk.

Here is one last reminder that memberships are available for just £12.50 during the month of June, but will increase to £17.50 on July 1.

Be sure to check out all the other benefits of signing up as a member here. A full FAQ on our Members area is also available here.

Existing registered users can upgrade via this link. New users, who are yet to get a registered account, can sign up via this link.

Payments can be made through Paypal or via Stripe using debit or credit cards.

Even at 5 there's gotta be better picks than Rice.

Andone, one to watch for preseason. I think his style of play fits Potter, but I'm not sure until I see some matches.
Rice as a DM . . Has a bit of goal threat, but overall, its a pass. Would rather get O.Norwod from Shefffield who is on se t pieces.

This is how the re-classified players would have scored in 2018/19, if they had been given their 2019/20 positions:

    Diogo Jota (Midfielder > Forward)
    -9 Goal Points
    -10 Clean Sheet Points
    +6 Bonus Points
    139 Points (4.2 PPG) > 126 Points (3.8 PPG)

    Gerard Deulofeu (Midfielder > Forward)
    -10 Goal Points
    -9 Clean Sheet Points
    +2 Bonus Points
    133 Points (4.4 PPG) > 116 Points (3.9 PPG)

    Ayoze Pérez (Forward > Midfielder)
    +12 Goal Points
    +11 Clean Sheet Points
    -7 Bonus Points
    141 Points (3.8 PPG) > 157 Points (4.2 PPG)

    Wilfried Zaha (Forward > Midfielder)
    +10 Goal Points

    Declan Rice (Defender > Midfielder)
    -2 Goal Points

    +27 Clean Sheet Points
    +9 Bonus Points

But remember you need to adjust the defenders for the -1 each time 2 or more goals conceded - this would have knocked another 12 points off Ritchie for example

Oops, good catch. Updated below - Zinchenko never conceded 2 or more.

The effect of the position change on the Diogo Jota and Raúl Jiménez comparison is quite interesting. They started up front together for Wolves in a 3-5-2 or 5-3-2 in 18 matches last season.

With Jota listed as a Midfielder, they were very evenly matched in those games. Jota scored 101 Points (5.6 PPG), and Jiménez scored 102 Points (5.7 PPG). After the recalculation, though, Jiménez has the slight edge:

      Diogo Jota - 8 Goals, 6 Assists, 16 Bonus Points, 7 Yellow Cards, 92 Points (5.1 PPG)

      Raúl Jiménez - 9 Goals, 4 Assists, 20 Bonus Points, 3 Yellow Cards, 100 Points (5.6 PPG)

Big news from out on the South Coast, as sources are saying that Che Adams has bid goodbye to his teammates after Birmingham have accepted a £16m bid from Southampton.
In the opposite direction, young left back Matt Targett (4.5m in FPL) is set to move to the midlands, as Southampton have accepted a £14m (which could rise to £17m in add-ons) from Aston Villa.
Brilliant business, this. Getting two deals done with net gain. I've had my doubts about the board in the past, but this is top class.

It's between Sterling or Kane for me. There are so many players I'm 100% on that it's just a case of working in one of these. My gut instinct is it will be more scary when City are winning games 5-0 and you haven't got a City attacker.

Thoughts on this type of scenario?

For me it depends on what Spurs do in the transfer window. There attack was hampered by the lack of midfield options which meant Dele and Eriksen were restrictive creatively. Spurs spent most of the season bypassing the midfield.

I think Dele could be a bargain if he starts playing further forward again.

Repost bc u guys are missing something special

What do u think of this VARy good team

I think VAR = more penalties as it is a high pressure tournament like the world cups we have just seen meaning refs feel under pressure to give them. Also a couple of big CBs in there as they will be targeted in the box from set pieces which can equal assists from penalties. This could be nice what do u think.

    Pope (SOU)

Smith (SHU) Stones/Maguire (whu) VVD (NOR) Ritchie (ARS)

Salah (NOR) Mili (EVE) Siggy (cry)

King (SHU) Aguero (whu) Vardy (WOL)

It’s a popular hypothesis - Personally though don’t think the World Cup can be used as a comparison - not only is it a tiny sample size (equivalent to about a month’s worth of the premier league) but over 50% of that tiny sample is contaminated with dumpster fire teams (e.g. Iran, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Costa Rica, Peru, Panama, Tunisia etc etc) International football in general is so far behind club football it’s quite sad to see

Use La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A VAR data instead - the sample is around 20x times as large as the World Cup (over 1,000 VAR games vs. 64 in the World Cup) and the quality is much more comparable imo

The handball rule however will be interesting observe, and also that’s not to say there won’t be more penalties next year of course (there were 103 this season, the highest ever premier league count has been 106, twice, in 2009/10 and 2016/17 and lowest ever was 52 in 2001/02 so we can have wild swings in quantity of pens without VAR)

I hear you but no guarantee that they will significantly outscore the other two for the opening two fixtures (which is what I'm looking at tbh). Feel Fraser might be overpriced and although Wilson might not be, King might well be underestimated by FPL towers this season...time will tell.

Here's a thought, approx 5/6m people play FPL every year, but 3 days after the game is launched only 250K people have logged in and at the very least set an auto-pick team. Does that suggest there are at least 4.7m+ casuals a year?

Brooks/Perez/Redmond depending on whom their clubs sign. Find the extra 0.5m and their is plenty at 7m

I’d say Brooks is your best shout for 6.5, maybe Perez or a cheeky punt on Fornals.

      Zaha/Milo for 7.0

Only Brooks interests me at the price atm! Ayoze Perez might be decent value if he stays at toon and nails his place (big if though)!
It's down to 5.0 or up to 7.0 apart from those two for me.

I'm considering Brooks, he had a fairly decent return last season but he'd have to be completely nailed to be of interest personally. Any Bournemouth fans with any insight into this?

Gros is another one that should be mentioned. If he can find the form he had in 17/18 then he could be fantastic value.

Not keen on either of them. I'd honestly choose Gros over them both. Keep an eye on Che Adams though, he's all but confirmed at Saints - and it will be interesting what he's priced at.

I like it, I think all of your midfielders are fairly similarly priced so you might find it harder to adjust if a big hitter starts scoring big. But it's a solid, balanced team.

      1. The Yorkshire Pirlo
        • 7 Years

Yeah, it’s gonna be hard for anyone to jump onto a big hitter the way it’s set up this year, got to go weak in one section of the pitch.

Seen loads going light up top, so it’ll be hard jumping on a Aguero/Kane/Auba bandwagon.

Can someone explain all the DCL love? He played poorly last year and again in the U21. It seems to me that 6.5 is the minimum to get a decent forward

    1. jomikijiq
      • 8 Years
      4 years, 9 months ago

he got one FPL point every 19 minutes last season. That's really good for 6.0 if he keeps his place in the starting line-up

    2. diesel001
      • 7 Years
      4 years, 9 months ago

I also don't understand the DCL love.

But at £6.0m or below the only striker worth considering IMO is the starter out of Locadia and Andone. Murray is old and you can see him playing a reduced role this season. But if Brighton don't buy a striker then one of Locadia and Andone will profit from getting starts.

Locadia is the better player IMO given his pedigree from PSV. But will be interesting to see what Potter does.
