Chris Brunt is out of West Brom’s home clash with Arsenal. Theo Walcott faces a late fitness test for the Baggies showdown. Jonny Evans may require surgery on an injured foot. David Luiz is making good progress from a hamstring injury, Steve Kean’s injury worries mount up, while Ledley King is set for further knee surgery this summer:

Chris Brunt has been ruled out of Roy Hodgson’s final match in charge of West Brom this Sunday. The midfielder, who has been in decent Fantasy form of late with a goal and 5 bonus points in his last two games, has undergone surgery to have his tonsils removed – he has been struggling with tonsillitis for the past six weeks now, according to Baggies assistant boss Keith Downing. Peter Odemwingie is still battling to overcome the hamstring injury that kept him out of last week’s trip to Bolton, while Jerome Thomas is also a doubt for the visit of Arsenal with flu.

Theo Walcott may be set for a return for the Hawthorns trip. Arsene Wenger revealed this afternoon that the winger is set for a fitness test tomorrow ahead of Sunday’s vital clash. With a win enough to secure third place, the Gunners boss is desperate for Walcott to be available, with Gervinho failing to impress on the right as a recent replacement.

Reports suggest that Jonny Evans’ foot injury may be more serious than first thought. The United centre-half has missed out on his side’s last two matches after sustaining the injury in the 4-4 draw against Everton in Gameweek 35 – he is thought to be unlikely to feature at Sunderland this weekend. While the club had initially thought a rest would help the injury heal naturally, Evans is showing little sign of making progress, with surgery over the summer now a possibility.

David Luiz is making good progress from a hamstring problem ahead of Chelsea’s game against Blackburn. While the centre-half is unlikely to feature from the start, he is said to be in contention for a possible sub appearance against the relegated outfit – he hasn’t played since the middle of last month and Roberto Di Matteo is keen to afford him some game time, with the Champions League Final against Bayern Munich just over a week away. Luiz is thought to have missed training today, along with Gary Cahill and John Obi Mikel – the latter was unavailable for Tuesday’s trip to Liverpool due to injury.

Steve Kean is sweating on the fitness of a couple of key players for the Chelsea encounter. Paul Robinson and David Dunn are both nursing ankle problems and remain doubts for the match, while the Blackburn boss also revealed Bradley Orr is out – the defender has undergone Achilles surgery. Kean is hoping Gael Givet will be ready for the weekend; the defender was taken off at half-time against Wigan on Monday with hamstring and groin problems.

Ledley King could be set to feature for Spurs in Sunday’s crucial home game with Fulham. The centre-half has missed the last three Gameweeks with his ongoing knee problem after a training ground collision worsened his condition – Harry Redknapp admitted King is set to go under the knife again after the season comes to an end:

For the sake of the club and the team, he has tried to play on, but he has been playing in pain and his movement’s not been as good. Hopefully, we’ll get his knee cleared out in the summer and he will be right again. I’m sure the chairman respects everything he has done for the club and we’d love to keep him around.

Owen Coyle has admitted he is considering how to utilise Chung-Yong Lee for Bolton’s vital trip to Stoke this weekend. A victory for the Trotters and a defeat for QPR at City would ensure the Lancashire outfit’s survival and, with the Korean impressing as a sub in last week’s draw with West Brom, Coyle is keeping his options open:

He came through 70 minutes the other day in a practice match and he’s fit. Whether he’s at the point where he can start games is difficult because we wouldn’t want to do anything that could harm his long term well-being. But for that brief period against West Brom you could see his quality and if he continues to improve as he has done then we’ll have to see what can happen against Stoke.

The Bolton boss is also checking on the fitness of Nigel Reo-Coker and Martin Petrov; the latter limped off with ten minutes left against the Baggies but is thought to be nursing no more than a knock.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

If you look at the UCL format scores defenders scored better than midfielders in general, mainly due to the recovered balls rule.

So I don't think planning 2 at the back is a great way forwards, 4-3-3 for me.

Attacking midfielders often end up with only 2 points, whereas good defenders can get 4+ even without a clean sheet.

So while midfielders have a higher ceiling you want to be able to sub them out if they come home with 1-2 pointers for defenders who should do better unless they're up against a top team

so i wanted to do these trades before their prices went up, and i wanted to end the season strong so i took a -8 hit to get in some city players

    rooney -> aguero
    dempsey -> silva
    jags -> kompany

thats gives me this team for gw38:

    vorm
    kompany, verm, walker
    silva, bale, valencia, sig
    aguero, rvp, jelavic
    bench: mig, pienaar, caulker, evans

    what do you think?

I think you're in trouble if QPR play very well. But they probably won't, so otherwise, looks pretty strong. I'm personally not sure about ARS CS potential this week, could be quite open given what's at stake (CL spot, Woy's last game etc), and I'm seriously considering benching my GIbbs pick this GW.

rotation risk was my fear. almost impossible to know whether RDM will rest his players for CL final, or field a decent team to recover from the liverpool game.

It's a good question as very few teams are in need of him as I see it. WBA maybe if Foster gos back to Brum. QPR could do with a keeper but not sure Chelsea would loan to them. My money would be on one of the newly promoted sides.

Options are basically Sneijder, Ribery, Iniesta, Gerrard, Young, Dzagoev.

I'm not sure many of the expensive mids are actually worth it, not sold on English players, Sneijder out of form, Iniesta/Xavi/Fabs hard to predict points from.

Basically I think if you have Robben then get Ribery, if not then get Sneijder.

Maybe you're right then. And also Netherlands always play a formation to suit him, in the hole behind RVP/Huntelaar so that should bring out his best too, he's been misused for Inter for some of this season.

Though VDV would love to play there he gets shifted out elsewhere to make room.

    Szczęsny. Pletikosa.
    Kadlec. Debuchy. Papadapoulos. Olsson. Ward.
    Ozil. Shirokov. Iniesta. Mandzukic. DeJong.
    Van Persie. Lewandowski. Cristiano Ronaldo.

Anyone you would rather have instead of the above. Got nothing in the bank.

        Kadlec. Debuchy. ALBA. Papadopoulos. Olsson
        Ozil. Shirokov. Iniesta. Mandzukic. ANDREWS.
        IBRA. Lewandowski. Van Persie.

Better? I fancy RVP to be honest. With the form he's in, I dont think the Dutch can play him anywhere but central.

There is a mighty big difference in squad depth between holland and Arsenal.

Huntelaar will play centrally, RVP on the wing, with Robben on the other, with Schneider just behind. VDV is on the bench probably.

At Arsenal RVP has Walcott on one side when he's fit, Gervinho on the other no one in the hole and some kid from Southampton popping into the side occassionally.

It's like comparing Real Madrid and Accrington Stanley. 😉

Akinfeev is in the same group as Szczesny, you want two keepers from different groups.

Huntelaar did get 12 goals in 8 qualifiers, which is why he's such big competition for RVP, though I think 5 of those came against San Marino.
I think RVP is a better option, but we'll see in the friendlies who is first choice. Maybe they'll be rotated though?

Yeah I think so, they have a tough group, he and Van Bommel will play in the Germany and Portugal games at least.

Against Denmark they could play a little more attacking and drop one of their holding mids for VDV as they have done against weaker sides before, but de Jong should play a part in every game I reckon.

I think that forward line is awesome. Though Ibra will drop after GW1 probably for Benzema. Am tempted by Muller but would have to dump Hummels/Badstuber.

The main issue may be finding funds to get Hart and Benzema in GW2, may have to dump Iniesta, but hopefully will get an idea if Mata is gonna start

As all the games are at the same time the first update at the end of the games will do your auto-subs/captain.The joke won't last all that long.

I won't do it anyways, just thought it looked quite nice. If Evans somehow appeared for a cameo I'd never forgive myself.

Srna is a good pick for Euro fanatsy as well

He is 100% starter,he is our C and he will play as winger

he is aslo taking free kicks, corrners and penalty kicks

though that he could be opposite OOP But Bilic confirmed that he wont play in back line

yeah but doubling with him and Madzukic seems like a risk, you do have Spain AND Italy.

But surely Pranjic is still an attacking full back starter? 8 games in qualifying.

Corluka on the left. I'm no Croatia expert but I've never, ever seen Charlie pay on the left in all my days at Spurs. This sounds dubious.

it was shock for everyone when Bilic put Corluka at LB against Turkey

Corluka has been fanatstic that game and he provide assist for 1st goal

I was wondering about him, but Forca said he's unlikely to play. He is 30 now I guess..

Schildenfeld, Simunic, Corluka, Vida back line then?

Vida only has 8 caps so far..
