Doesn't sound great..."“A large number of first-team players and staff returned positive tests after being routinely tested on Monday and immediately went into isolation,” the club said in a statement. “A second round of testing was carried out immediately and produced more positive results today.”

    A) Lowton - Poor defence but plays in blank and double. Hard fixtures.
    B) Holding - Decent Value but no double.
    C) Fernandez - Easy fixture Shef utd, but no double
    D) B Davies - Not sure if nailed.

Planning to go Salah > Rashford and then FH instead if some of the gw18 games are postponed, allowing me to get Salah back in for gw19 instead. Good idea?

I have Salah at the moment but if I transfer in Rashford previous to FHing the same gameweek, do I not get Salah back automatically for gw19? Of course if theres no postponements and I don’t FH I’ll just continue with Rashford.

I think they need to start enforcing this rule that if you can field 14 players you have to play. Should help put a stop to players flouting the rules that apply to everyone else

Some teams will still bend the rules if they are forced to play a weak team e.g. telling the league that their team has been exposed to one person with covid so they have to isolate them all as a precaution. It may sound far fetched but I think it's kind of already happened this season (Fulham).

It won't stop players from anything, they are living in their privileged own world since very early age and vast majority of them simply thinks that are better and can get away with more than great unwashed.

If football is suspended they will have wasted their chip or there may be so many games called off it's not worth using it.

Yeah I can see your point, but if the Spurs vs Villa game gets called off, I think it's a great advantage to FHers. Any more games than that, will suck for them

You think professional football clubs are submitting tests using... other people's saliva? A bizarre and low-reward conspiracy that would likely see them expelled from the premier league if this was turned up with some fairly simple laboratory analysis. So how did this work, did City tell several players they were Covid positive when they were not, or were all these players trusted to be part of this conspiracy, for... A few days off. This is dumb even by your standards

Two randy people can't even keep a bonk at the Christmas party on the down low and this guy thinks manchester city have defrauded the government's testing programme in the hope they get a couple of days off (before a more congested schedule later down the line) and at the risk of basically being eliminated from the football league with catastrophic consequences for investers.

If Villa play a scratch team in the Cup then presumably the Spurs game will be played even if Villa have to put a weak team out.

The rules for the FA cup and the league are different. If tomorrow nights game was a league game it wouldn't be going ahead.

Yeah Villa may decide they can’t deal with their ever-increasing list of rearrangements so just try and get these games sorted as best as they can? Who knows.

If game goes ahead then the matchday squad should give some indications as to the severity of spread.

Previously in cup we have played the second string (Hause, Taylor, Elmo, Hourihane, Davis et al) and first team on bench, so matchday squad will be very telling

Here's hoping its nothing to serious for both my club and my 3 villa players for 18 & 19

Only if the scenario that plays out across the next few week benefits the chip they played & they specific players they had, with any COVID postponements being favourable to them.

Those three things combined drastically lower the percentage chance of it being happening to a person.

You can't know what's going to happen in 3 weeks (it's even more unpredictable than in a non-pandemic state) - so it's a roll of the dice.

Many people will lose out. A small number will get lucky. Which strategy that is? Anyone's guess.

Sorry, I did think you meant played early -this- week and on a re-read that's a wrong assumption.

However apply what I've said to a favourable outcome to their earlier played chips and its basically the same.

It’s best to wait, at the end of the day weather you play it not you could be punished either way by a cancellation or 2, it’s just luck

Just wait till day of deadline IMO. The only upside to early FH is maybe 1.0-2.0m in your team for that one week. You’ve missed prob nearly half of that already at this point. Just get a coufal instead of a Dias and have the same team otherwise that you would have anyway. With every chance of further cancellations the FH may not end up being the best play so I would just wait and see. Good luck

    Worth taking a -8 hit for gw18?
    1. Taylor to cancelo/stones
    2. Adams to wilson

    I will be FHing DGW19

1 seems justified as will likely yield at least 2 extra pts
2 is my dilemma. I might be -2 down if wilson does nothing but I also feel wilson has better fixtures than adams gw20+

    Thoughts ?

If Villa Spurs is off I think Free hit is a huge advantage. That game was to be avoided on FH anyway and non FH teams probably well stocked on Martinez. Jack. Son. Kane etc

If Burnley v United off then a different story. Probably worth hibernating GW18 (problem if you have already done transfers or launched FH)

A team of 3 City, 3 united, Neto, James, tierney, Auba. Would be a very template FH. But would batter non free hitters for about 50 points

Villa will probably have to either forfeit their FA Cup against Liverpool or move it to R4 weekend.

AVL vs TOT could be postponed in BGW18, and then it would make sense to move TOT vs FUL to GW18 instead as Spurs can't afford another postponement.

There's already precedent for what happens in this scenario, and you only need to look back to last season.

Gameweeks continue as-is, yet contain no fixtures. FPL adds Gameweeks beyond GW38.
