Fantasy Football Scout Community Trials open again

The dawning of a new year brings fresh opportunities, different perspectives and, of course, a brand new FPL wildcard to tempt us! In this spirit of renewal, Fantasy Football Scout are delighted to be re-opening our Community Trials in order to discover and celebrate upcoming writing talent.

Alongside the Pro PunditsScout Network and Scout Academy, the Trials are part of our continuing mission to support the wider world of FPL content creators and expand the extent of FFS’s own coverage.

Specifically, the Community Trials offer an opportunity for budding writers to submit an article with a view to getting a paid commission, raising their profile and generally furthering their editorial career.

We ran the inaugural version of this enterprise back in the Autumn and, after much deliberation of MANY articles, ultimately picked four winners: DomWatts23GreyheadKroos Kontrol and RubberDucky.

We handed each of these writers a chance to work alongside the Fantasy Football Scout editorial team on a commissioned article that will feature in the main editorial flow. The first of these was published last week, as mindfulness coach DomWatts23 revealed his thoughts on how to balance FPL with our mental health in an unpredictable season. You can READ IT HERE.

If you fancy an opportunity to follow in their footsteps then now is the time to get your thinking cap on and start sharing your ideas.

The Community Trials window will be open for four weeks, between today and Sunday, February 7. During this period, we will monitor everything submitted, provide a little feedback here and there and then reward the best and most interesting new writers with paid commissions to contribute to the main site.

We think this is a great opportunity to test out new ideas and angles, flex your creative muscles and get attention from our editorial teams. Even if you don’t get picked first time round, don’t worry, we’ll be running more trials throughout the year.

The second Community Trials are now officially open and run through to February 7, so start submitting using this link.

Crazy thought but if sterling is a doubt and I downgrade on free hit to gundogan

It means that I may have cash to upgrade saka to auba!!

Despite his total lack of form and value for money as a one off surely auba much more explosive!!

Wrong. Stats wise Saka is doing just as well as Auba. Buying him is purely because you have budget not because he's better.

Think Stones and KDB are safe options. Considering gambling with doubling up on attack with Sterling or Bilva for bgw, then get Salah back for dgw. WC GW 18

Dias looks pretty nailed on if you ask me. Cancelo too but would’nt be a surprise if he is rested in 1 of the next 3.

Currently not playing FH but that'd be my thinking too, Auba has scored over 20 league goals in the last two seasons, he's currently on 3, he's gonna start scoring again at some point and I'd gamble on that being against Palace.

Assuming Spurs Villa is off, I have 7 players (incl. Taylor/Burke) so effectively 5. However, i have 2FTs so that will take me to 7 decent players which is in the middle category of whether to FH or not.

    Martinez -- Forster
Taylor Cancelo Stones -- Coufal Dallas
Bruno Kdb Burke -- Salah Son
    DCL -- Watkins Bamford

A: Salah + Watkins >> Rashford + Laca...gets me to 7 decent players then just hope they dont get benched. However, will have to take a hit (or two) to get salah back in gw19 depending on the situation.

B: FH but my issue is that apart from sterling, my transfers in A allows me all big hitters (attacking wise) so is it worth using the FT?

    1. Is Smith Rowe good pick?

I don’t really understand calling them out just yet. You asked about your FH not about a cup game. If it comes off that great but Silva scoring in this game still doesn’t mean he’s a good pick for your FH.

      No.

      If it's a weak-ish lineup it's because it's Marine.

If it's a decent strength lineup it's because Mourinho genuinely respects the cup (almost always has).

  17. The Train Driver

A bit unfair to Spurs not to find out yet if the AV game is postponed or not. Having that info surely affects what lineup Jose would choose in the FA Cup, right?

Villa/FA should have had time enough to come up with A decision by now if the game should be cancelled. No reason to continue to wait until match day to cancel. So Think the game will be on.

They will be waiting to see how many negative tests they can confirm as close the game as possible - so we prob won't hear till close to the game.

All those positives from last week can easily turn into far fewer by Wednesday morning.

KDB is surely nailed, Stones is rested and Pep might say that Sterling is fully fit. If Sterling isn't fit, Dias should be nailed anyway. 4 strong options and at least 3 of them should start.

Not unless we get positive news ahead of the deadline. Bruno/Sterling/KDB/Rashford/Saka/Lacazette are good enough to beat Son/Grealish/El Ghazi/Kane even if the game goes ahead, and it's an awkward fixture for both teams in any event.

Found some Aguero news, if it wasn't already doing the rounds. Seems someone in his circle came into contact with someone who later tested positive, so is in quarantine while tests are run. Fully expected to be ready for the next league game, at which point it's entirely up to Pep Roulette.
