    Which combo would you prefer?

    Rashford, Mitoma & Mbuemo
    OR
    Bruno, Martinelli & Enciso/another 5.5 MID

Is that mid 3rd bench fodder? I wouldn't be happy with either tbh. 1st one with gun on my head.

Sadly not fodder, could upgrade to a 6.0 MID but don’t see anyone incredibly appealing until you get to 6.5

I currently have Jesus but that's mostly bc I'll want a spot for the potential Watkins/Wilson/Nkunku swap.

    A- Will have him
    Or
    B- Won’t have him

    Thoughts welcomed!!

Jesus has been in virtually all my drafts but Nkunku is turning me eye

    Cheers everyone!!

But I’ve lost all trust atm, so I’ve no idea, he’s a great player mate, versatile too, comfortable on the ball and progressing the play upfield, goal threat, tho lot really!!

Pep changes everyone plays football in the Premier league

False number nine - everyone tries to copy

Now last season playing sometimes two up but with the inverted full back into mid-field

Arsenal with possible this season Oleksandr Zinchenko with possibility of this season Jurrien Timber & last season Liverpool with TAA how many other Premier Teams do you think will copy & whom?

    1. George Sillett
      • 10 Years
      2 years, 4 months ago

If Arsenal try it with Zinc they will concede as he can't defend . Timber is potentially interesting , TAA could well prosper with the new midfield. Chilwell is one to watch

    Johnstone | Areola
TAA Gabriel Estupinian Henry/Pinnock | Beyer
Salah Saka Mitoma Mbeumo | Nakamba
    Haaland Jesus | Mubama

Thoughts on this TAA + Salah draft? Who is better: Pinnock or Henry and is it too risky to have one of them starting?

Pinnock and Henry are both good options. Based on last season, they were both first choice and Brentford had a stong defense. Will that mean they're both good picks this season? We don't know.

Given the opening fixtures I think its fine to have Pinnock/Henry starting every week (if you afford to rotate them for TOT new even better)

        You've probably noticed below but

I have worked in the gambling industry for bookmakers and as a betting advisor under The British Champions Series . My wife worked as Credit Marketing Manager for a major UK Bookmaker . Thanks for the compliment , I do know my eggs . It serves as a constant source of annoyance to me that if this site wishes to endorse the promotion of gambling at bare minimum they should have someone commenting who knows what they're talking about. This patently doesn't happen.

I didn't care about them as gambling is like alcohol and no one bats an eyelid when alcohol is promoted, albeit, not on here. It was when I read the affiliation terms I was in shock. They need their base to lose money to make more money. No one should be paying for this site.

      1. George Sillett

It's more about the kick back TBH . The original article was purely a money making scheme my comment is very different , certainly not "holier than thou".
My roles in the gambling industry were more involved with responsible gambling and people who knew what they were doing as opposed to parasitic advertising. Things have changed

        1. Alan The Llama
          • 16 Years
          2 years, 4 months ago

Not sure they have changed. It doesn't take a genius to spot that those in-the-middle-of-the-night tv ads that tell people to gamble responsibility are clearly still adverts for bookmakers.

A veneer of responsibility is not the same as being responsible.

          *I'm a gambler, btw.

            • 10 Years

Advertising targeting is very different now . The gambling public is a very complex mix and whereas traditionally bookmakers used to focus on "big hitters" betting on traditionally sports the landscape has changed. I am no longer on the industry and the online gaming emphasis is very unhealthy imo. For an industry that wishes to promote responsible gambling the landscape is getting decidedly more murky

      1. House Frey Wedding Planner
        • 7 Years
        2 years, 4 months ago

Not 100% sold on Porro. Big Ange will play 4-3-3 and Porro is a wingback who isn't great at defending. Do want to wait a few games before throwing my lot in on Porro. He may even be more effective playing as a right winger in place of Kulu which could actually be more effective. Will wait and see.

Want to have a defender at the 4.5 price point as well so to not tie up more money in defence.

Do also prefer Stones over Ake though I probably would say Ake is slightly more nailed (only just though). Stones offers a bit more attacking threat and plays more advanced

        1. Sure You Did

I genuinely think Stones will be the most nailed defender for City.

    4. Nanook

      2 years, 4 months ago

Naturally, I think it looks great as it’s my current starting XI plus Areola and the 4.5 forward. In place of Chillwell/Udogie I have a 4.5 Villa defender (covers/rotates well with Stones) and a 4.0 Bell/Beyer who may gain a little value for me sitting on the end of the bench. Leaves me 1.5 million itb.

I can switch Estupinan to Chillwell in GW3. If I like the look of Nkunku I can switch Mitoma/Jesus to Martinelli/Nkunku. Would be 3 Man U, 3 Arsenal, 2 City, 2 Chelsea plus Mbeumo and a Villa defender as my 12th. Can evaluate Pool and Tot attacking assets with the ability to easily switch among all the mids and forwards bar Salah. Flexible and balanced.

Yeah I'm not sure he is a proper trusted option

Rotation heavy in those forward roles for Brighton. Pedro complicates it too

Very few teams appear to have Salah. I wonder whether that’ll prove to be a mistake. It’ll be hard to get to him from five mid-priced mids and a strong bench too.

I have him in my draft atm. As you say it would take three transfers to move to him from the template midfield.

I'm guessing left 3.5itb with possible no TAA for first game away to Chelsea

That is correct. As much as I would love TAA, he takes up too much budget early on and there are cheaper defenders elsewhere with better initial fixtures.

Think I’m going without. Aside from GW 2 unlikely to captain until GW 9. Spread the cash for a strong, balanced, flexible side. Think I’ll skip TAA too. First 8 matches don’t look like easy CS which is where his defender status derives a bunch of his bonus. Reevaluate both in GW9?

    TAA - Shaw - Gabriel - Estupinan
    Salah - Saka - Enciso
    Haaland - Jesus - Wissa

Downsides: no Rashford, and only having 3 midfielders. Maybe I should do Jesus to Martinelli or Bruno? Concerned though how Mount impacts Bruno and I'm only considering Bruno to try and cover Rashford..

7.5, I'd expect a Rashford in a non-Salah team. If I had to downgrade anyone, it would be Maddison. You could get Bowen for him, then do Bruno to Rash, or get Eze or Mitoma for an extra mill spare.

Mitro isn't benched, he's not in the squad. And Vinicius will play the second half, starting line up here has no bearing on competitive games.

Brentford were one of the best defences last season, after Tottenham they have three brilliant fixtures, Everton also have good fixtures but their defence wasn't one of the best!

It’s a good team. I’d just start with Bruno over Foden for the guarantee of starts\Pks since Man U have 3 good attacking matches to begin the season.

The problem with that is it doesn't leave enough ITB for TAA or Salah if they fire

The other thing is United weren't great at scoring goals, City were by far the best, if Foden looks like starting it's a no brainer

True and I'd be even less confidant if Arteta proceeds with his plan to play Havertz and Ode above Rice rather than a double pivot of Rice and Partley.

Yeah there’s no real out and out “attacking” defender for Arsenal, which is why I think Ramsdale is so popular. Gives Arsenal defensive coverage, which it seems like everyone will have, and also doesn’t take up a defender spot.
