Lots of options in midfield beyond the core template too and at such a price you can stack your squad.

A good start for the template for sure
If you look at the most owned players, it's only really Gabriel (who many keen players actually switched for Saliba thanks to the insider information) and Pickford who blanked

      Player EO Score
      Haaland 190% 13
      Saka 104% 10
      Estupiñan 95% 7
      Gabriel 70% 1
      João Pedro 55% 7
      Chilwell 53% 7
      Pickford 51% 2
      Martinelli 48% 5
      Mitoma 36% 5
      Salah 32% 5
      Watkins 32% 5
      Mbeumo 32% 7

It's the 'legendary managers' ownership on LiveFPL
          https://www.livefpl.net/league_stats/elite

This will be a good proxy of the typical FFS user team (more so than looking at overall ownership as you have the likes of Trippier being the 2nd most owned defender but no-one on here seems to have him)

Ofc it's possible but quite unlikely imo. With KdB out, Foden is one of the only direct attackers City have. The rest are control players.

GW3 could be a cricket score for City and Haaland will have 200% ownership so is completely irrelevant - having other attackers is how you get ahead

Not sure if or when he'll drop but if he does it would price me out on Chilwell who looks like a superb option. Sometimes it's that simple and now I've done it I won't spend the next 5 days worrying, overthinking, second guessing and rationalising it.

It's possible no one rises tonight for three reasons:

they've done it before when it was Monday

the algorithm that calculates it isn't fully accurate yet if they've messed with any thresholds

            wildcards are active.

Avoid making transfers until deadline day or night before if your player is going up!

I'd make the switch. Jota has too much competition for places and any game where he starts, plays poorly and doesn't score (i.e. today), you're always gonna be expecting him to benched the following week. Think the 0.5 would be handy too.

    3. Licky
      • 13 Years

I'd swap him out, he's a very streaky player anyway so I wouldn't want to own him for any significant amount of time.

I fear it's knee jerking. He has Bou next, so it could be decent match to build self confidence. That transfer basically costs 4 pts and I doubt it's worth it. Jota scores one and Diaz is 9 pts behind 🙁 I will see what happens tomorrow and decide after that what to do. Injury to Bruno or Rashford (certainly not hoping that) would solve the issue.

I must admit I only watched Man United pre-season games, so I have no idea if todays set up was just to counter Pool, or if that is Poch’s system full stop.
I already own Chillwell, but I will double up with James if this wing back system is here to stay

He was a bit rusty for sure. He should have done better with one he took too wide and hit it at the keeper.
But he made up for it with plenty of guts and determination to get into brilliant positions

Chilwell was LW in pre season too, but James was rested a fair bit to tell the right hand side of things. Gusto is more defensive that’s for sure. Nkunku out is a big miss for making most of attacking play, but Caicedo will up clean sheets

    3. Paul Psychic Octopus

Sounds like Poch wanted to counter TAA inverting by playing Chilwell higher up. Next time it could be James further forward.

If you look at the Opta stats, James got in 9 (presumably 'successful') crosses, whereas Chilwell only managed 3. And Chilly was on the pitch for longer.

I'd be interested to see the stats for penalty area touches between the two.

Seemed like James was staying as wide as possible while Chilwell was more inverted and making runs into the box.

As Poch said, it resembled a back 3 in certain phases of play, and a back 4 in others. Same as most top teams. And same as what he did at Spurs. I think we sometimes get too bogged down on formations.

Given what he said, it sounds like Chilwell and James will continue to play advanced aggressive roles when the team is in possession. With someone like Caicedo more likely to drop in between the CBs at times.

Would you not consider 4.5 or 5.0 solid starter defenders instead?

I have a 4.0 and a 4.5 defender on bench in botman i have mubama as my third striker i cant see a decent 4.5 option as third sub striker maybe a luton striker?

Rather than upgrading 4.5 striker, upgrade 4.0 defender instead. That's for rotation btw because non-starter could cameo easily.

All of those midfielders would definitely come off the bench if they don't start so chances are you wouldn't even get your 5.5 FWD off the bench anyway.

I think it's OK having two 5.5/6.0m forwards as long as they are playing. I intend playing 5 mids most weeks.

Morris of Luton also in the mix.

Botman looks a steal at 4.5m once Newcastle are through the Liverpool game.

For 4.5 would play Cash only at home for good fixture and for rotation with other 4.5. Could get here and there attacking points. Use the excess to beef up attackers.

It's not really jerky. The whole point of having 0.5m+ in the bank after GW1 is to be able to jump quickly on bandwagons, or after confirmation that 'risk' players look likely to start.

If Pedro continues to start, he'll probably get to 6.0m in no time.

Think Shaw should have been 5.0

I only really have Shaw to try cover Onana and Shaw ownership.

There are a lot of Man U fans, and every season this happens, where their players have increased ownership that isn't warranted.

Shaws returns of the previous seasons are nothing to write home about.

I want players like Chilwell etc and have limited spots.

Ownership is a double-edged sword. If you have a Chilwell/James getting double-figure hauls, while huge amounts of people are getting 6pts from a Saliba or Shaw, you're going to gain huge ground.

It's best to just to try and maximise your points, and hope that the players you pick just happen to be low-owned.

    Early days but play:
    A) Turner (vs. SHU, at home)
    B) Onana (vs. TOT, away)

Sort of tempted by B. But you never know, as Tottenham may create lots of chances, hence lots of saves!

    1. Begbie.
      • Fantasy Football Scout Member

I was leaning A because of the higher CS potential but you make a great point about saves cause Spurs WILL create a lot so could see saves and bonus points.

    2. have you seen cyan
      • 6 Years

I said B earlier, but everyone else said A.

Save points is why yea, and rotating keepers for me in the past has never worked. I think Spurs and Man U both score. Sure Blades suck, but idk, you wont get many if any save points vs them, and hoping for cs sucks.

Your gut decision to make though.

I am in the same line of thinking. Forest still likely to be dealing with injuries but Sheffield Utd really don't look in good shape. Onana has to get some save pts there so even if he concedes he should have potential to get something like 3-4pts

    Gabriel (CB)
    Foden
    Jackson.

    0.0 mill in bank.

Foden would be number one priority to sell of right?
