Statement game. If Newcastle win, City had better start asking questions about their title defense.

Happy with my team, but tempted to do -4 right now:

    Martinelli + Saliba --> Maddison + James

If I wait for next week, will not be possible due to price rises.

    Yes or No ?

I think Maddi will just escape a price rise, will be close. James you will be fine.

Because he looked too isolated on the wing and might get sub as usually around 70 min
I thought he would be explosive against Nott

Maddison looking he will be involved in all Spurs goals.
Free kicks, corners, crosses, maybe penalties

Hmm ok. The predicted lineup on here currently has Trossard as the (false) 9 which would be much better for Martinelli. I'm keen to keep him myself. The only thing I'd say about James is if Chelsea revert to a back 4 (the WB system was surprising to me & fixture-specific, plus they now have Caicedo) he may well play a much more reserved role. But I get the Maddison hype, I'm likely to do Jota - Maddi GW3

It feels like a week where people won’t C Haaland over Salah because of a ‘hard fix’ like when he played United at home last year.

City at the Ethiad can batter anyone.

Then we'll keep half those gains and pocket what Mo does to Bournemouth (with 1 extra point per goal and clean sheet bonus). Midfielder ceiling is always higher.

Could you not say the same for Haaland? I guess the point of owning him is because you think he’ll score a lot of points this season & hit around 230, those points will still mean something with or without the captaincy.

        1. We Go Again
          • 11 Years
          2 years, 4 months ago

Well yeah I would captain haaland if he had the better fixture, regardless of ownership. But he doesn't, so I'd captain Salah because I think he'd get the most points.

Of course haaland could end up scoring a hat trick and Salah could get 0 contributions in another 9-0 Liverpool win. That's just how it goes sometimes in FPL.

what was the score last season against Bournemouth & did Salah Score?

        Liverpool 9 v 0
        Luis Dias (2 goals)
        Harvey Elliot (1 goal)
        TAA (1 goal)
        Roberto Firminio (2 goals)
        VVD (1 goal)
        (Og)
        Fabio Carvakho(1 goal)

it's hard to predict, gvardiol will probably have licence to step into midfield today from CB like Stones and Akanji CCB; think Pep trusts Akanji the most after Dias defensively

once stones is fit enough to start it's gvardiol vs Ake for the left back role imo if pep is going full strength

        • Fantasy Football Scout Member

          • 11 Years

could well be, but Dias would be ccb and ake/gvardiol both left footed so that leaves the rb/rcb as a left footer; akanji spend a lot of time playing that role over walker back end of last season and put in a shift, unless gvardiol is just that good can't see him being given the nod in that position. but again it's Pep so hard to predict

I’ve gone MGW. On pens and free kicks, and everything goes through him. Plus Taiwo is a fitness doubt so might only manage 60 or so. All good options though!

Rodri is nailed, 7.5% owned, and the top scoring midfielder in FPL.

    Would you start Osula?

    Onana
    Gabriel/James/Estupinan
    Salah/Saka/Rashford/Eze/Mbeumo
    Haaland/Pedro

    Areola/Osula/Baldock/Beyer

Nobody knows. He did start both league games last season against the Toon, but in the baldy git’s world that probably means feck all.

Shaw to James or bench and play baldock?
I have Chilly but quite fancy the double up going forward for as long as one or both last!

I bought Shaw for his attacking threat but looked very withdrawn for majority of last game. Clean sheet alos not very likely :(.

Its not great, but u can survive with no wc. You can field 11 this week.

Captain Salah. Do Trossard to someone like Maddison or Mbeumo. Hope Jota starts.

You do have quite a lot of issues in fairness, but your front 3 is very good, Salah is very good. Pickford sucks, but you have a starting keeper.

You could wildcard, and I don't think anyone would blame you, but up to you. Trossard, Kulu, Jota, Dalot are issues, maybe Akanji too.

Thats the problem, i have 5 "wrong" player. Maybe is best to wait for one more gw. Trossard to Martineli, Kulu to Madisson, Dalot to Wan Bissaka maybe ...

Maybe do a -4 and try get Chilwell and Mbeumo. Don't normally recommend hits, but given ur position, this stage of the season, a double move could help cover ur weaknesses to some extent. With those two players in there, no way ur considering a wc imo.
