Got a lot of players on thin ice (Pickford, Gabriel, Rashford, Pedro) but think there is potential for a good gameweek this week for all of them, so reluctant to get rid and almost tempted by burning a transfer. Any advice appreciated.

    A: Burn a FT
    B: Pickford > ?
    C: Gabriel > Romero/Saliba/?
    D: Rashford > Foden
E: some other combo with 2FT

    Pickford
    Chilwell Gabriel Estupinan
    Saka Salah Rashford Mbuemo
    Haaland Jackson Pedro

    Turner Henry Nakamba Kabore

    2FT 0ITB

I'm tempted by Rashford to Foden. Notts at home is a good fixture but he's playing in the wrong position and if he carries on there he's getting nothing. Foden looked so dangerous in their last game and now they're playing sheff...it's not an easy decision. City have a good run of fixtures so leaning towards Foden.

      1. Stuck in the Mudryk

I heard Martial could come in to the side and push him back out left for the next fixture. I also think he could have had some returns and has been a bit unlucky in last 2 games. But yeah Foden looked fantastic last game and the money saved on the move is another bonus

This is what I'm hoping will happen, if he's pushed back out to the left he could haul. But can't be sure that's gonna happen.

I have a very similar team. (Bruno, Richarlison, and Foden where you have Rashford, Jackson, and Mbuemo).

Seems pretty clear to me that replacing Gabriel with someone who actually starts matches should be the top priority.

If you're gonna burn just lose Pickford. Lost to Fulham at home then battered away. Nothing has changed. Easy swap to Areola. Double 4.0M GKs, get some in the bank and go from there IMO.

Interesting choice in Areola, fixtures aren't the best. Have considered Flekken and Johnstone. I do see Everton tightening up after that thrashing though and Wolves is as good a game for a clean sheet as any

As a Martinelli owner, tonight more or less sealed his fate for a switch to Odegaard, the pens are a factor, Saka doesn’t get benched, Martinelli could easily be against Fulham for Trossard, it was always 2 from 3 for me & tonight was a bit of a gamechanger

Not sure Ødegaard is nailed on penalties, heard they were rotating. Havertz, Jorghino and Saka all possible

I was thinking of Ode to Marti before this evening. I’d hold off, the goals will come

If it’s not broken, they won’t fix it, Saka has missed a couple now and one of them was a major one, I’m sure they’ll leave it with Odegaard now.

    3. Qaiss
      • 8 Years

This could be true… but remember last season, when everyone sold him due to fear of rotation and he exploded for the next 10 weeks after that

I don’t like to get involved in rotation talk because many over think it & tie themselves up in knots on sites like this, he also returned to form when Jesus returned & Trossard replaced Nketiah btw.

I’m talking about the ranking of mids now & the pens are always going to be a deciding vote.

Rough: and I'm almost too embarrassed to say it ...I took a hit to bring Maddison in for Foden. We all know how that went! One of the worst moves I've ever made and only did it so I wouldn't be priced out of the Maddison move. Added pain - he might now be injured!!! Move cost me 10 points, so pretty rough!
Smooth: captained Salah and ended on a respectable 54 so damage wasn't too bad after all.

I’m a season ticket holder, I go to all the home games, that doesn’t mean I know more then you when you get exactly the same info to interpret as I do.

            Again, self responsibility.

After all these tales of woe, my 47 doesn't seem so bad after all.
Even got a small green arrow, but still outside the top three million.
And top of our new family league, thanks to my Brighton duo.
But my squad is now clearly in need of major surgery, so eight point hit coming (probably) since I don't want to wildcard this early.

      Rough:

Injuries to KDB, Timber and James (along with Baldock and Trossard unlikely to start) led me to already WCing in GW2, having already lost 0.2m selling value.

      I sold Wissa (11) Estupinan (11), Foden (9) and Flekken (6).

I brought in Areola (10), but played Turner (2).

Brought in and benched Pedro, who didn't play, and looks to be high on people's selling lists.

Brought in triple Chelsea defence of Chilwell (1), Disasi (0) and Gusto (1), though benching Disasi for that extra point is preettty smooooth...

      Smooth:

Brought in Gvardiol (6), Diaz (7), Odegaard (11) who appears to have gained penalty duties, Jota (12) and Awoniyi (7)

      Captained Diaz over Haaland (2)

62 points and a rise from 5.1m to 1.8m OR

39 points, recovered with 15 last night thanks to Odegaard. Dropped loads to 2.9m but could have been a lot worse as I was at 7m GW rank before last night. Still ended at 6m GW rank!

Rough starting Gabriel over Udogie last minute after asking for advice on here. (Not blaming anyone my decision to take the advice!)

The whole gabriel leak still leaving a bitter taste in mouth as ML rival who was online at GW1 deadline switched to Saliba so him & those people are 11 points plus a transfer ahead.

      Good
Mbumo & mitoma double up. Glad I didn't fall for bruno trap as kept 2 mil ITB instead of the utd double up

I have seen a guy in one of my mini leagues having Ederson (6), Mitoma (12) and Pinnock (7) and Kabore (-) on the bench. He still scored 55!

    Turner (Areola)
    Gusto Saliba Chilwell (Kabore Baldock)
    Saka Fernandes Jota Rashford Odegaard
    Jackson Haaland (Mubama)

    1.5m ITB, 1 FT

What would you do if you didnt have Mbeumo or Mitoma ?

I have Salah, Rashford and Martinelli who all could be sold to get one of them but I feel Salah has been very close to getting a haul, Liverpool look decent in attack but have a tough fixture,

Rashford and Martinelli have great fixtures this week but lack form, but then mbuemo and mitoma have a toughish fixture up next but both teams are in form.

Then there is the whole Foden/Alvarez option on top.

Really not sure what to do here, feel like holding could be a mistake as Im already playing catch up, but not sure who to move for or who to sell

    Any ideas ?

Salah will haul all season, that is not in doubt, is he going to get your armband, that is the question, if the answer is no then I think you know what you have to do.

A lot of players can haul.

Just take it in stride a little more, offload Salah, defo not worth 12.5m!

Foden or Alvarez are exciting picks who should do well, I’ve gone for Alvarez.

Gotta take chances to change things around.

Cheers guys, yeah might have to ship Salah it does seem the obvious option.

Will think about it for a couple more days before making a move, considering just leaving the midfield for a week and working a way to get Alvarez in for JP (fund it with selling Shaw perhaps) not quite sure yet.

      Appreciate the thoughts

Couple of changes: Martinelli and Pedro out for Foden and Nketiah

This team has to better 35 pts in GW3, surely!

    Pickford
    Chilwell • Colwil • Saliba • Shaw
    Salah • Saka • Foden • Rashford
    Haaland • Nketiah

    Turner • Garnacho • Baldock • Mubama

looks good, moves for free ?

I have a very similar team and not sure what to do at all

Why Foden and Nketiah over Mbuemo and Alvarez for example or Mitoma plus Wissa or some other variation ?

      1. Twisted Saltergater

        Yep, 2 x FT

Believe me, I’ve debated all the players you mention. On a WC, I would have Mbeumo, but it’s a really bad time to wildcard when United have the Forest game and we’re unsure which Chelsea attacker to get.

Part of me is saying forget about what’s just happened and concentrate on improving my team. Martinelli is frustrated on the left as Nketiah is staying very central, instead of how Jesus would interchange. He’s also suffering because of no overlapping LB. Zinchenko back may change that, but I fancy Foden in this 10 role.

Brighton look excellent but it has been Luton and Wolves. I had Mitoma for ages last year and he couldn’t hit a barn door, but pleased he’s started well. Brighton’s fixtures toughen now.

Brentford 3 home games in the next 4 so still great options.

Cheers for the thought process, I'm looking at it like maybe it makes sense to move to Foden as opposed to Mitoma or Mbuemo this week, because at least his ownership is low in my mini leagues so there is an opportunity to make back some losses - hoping most will not move to Foden without having to sell their arsenal or united mids and let the gw3 fixtures play out and then look at maybe getting Mbuemo in in gw4.

Will still have to think on it for a couple days because Im def more willing to lose Martinelli and Rashford over Salah but this week it feels like selling Salah is the more obvious move.

Agree with your thought process. I’m not going to make up the gap by bringing in Mitoma and Mbuemo so it’s all about seeing which alternatives could do as well or better.

In isolation, Salah isn’t worth 12.5m but he doesn’t cause a compromise to your team as the pricing of other players is so favourable. Until money is a problem, I’m more than happy keeping him.

Gabriel to Saliba is such an easy move, he’s also my favourite player right now, I’m just so anti bringing him in after he’s risen in price & am 11 points down on the swap.

WC makes it a lot easier - think of it this way: At least it's not also costing you a free transfer! The 11 points is sunk cost nothing you do now will change that. Look to the rest of the season.
