Eat the price drop on Baldock?

Or make a double move to upgrade him to Botman and downgrade Bruno/Foden/Saka to a cheaper midfielder?

Not worth the risk this year for the sake of £0.1m

See how Jackson goes today but might be worth changing. Otherwise, apart from upgrading your goalie and your bench, it looks like a good team

The crazy thing is Son isn't above 100 atm (but is close)
Would be nuts to have a player go from 0.57m owners to 1.53m in a week and only rise 0.1m as a result!

Priority to ship out from this lot, have 2 x FTs:

    1. Eze (to Mbeumo)
    2. Rashford (to Bowen/JWP or Maddison)
    3. Onana (to Areola), going for ultra cheap GK pair with Turner
    4. Pedro (to Edouard)

If Pedro is a starter I’d say 4. He obviously scored yesterday but he doesn’t look any closer to being nailed. Otherwise I’m losing faith in Eze and Mbeumo is one of my favourites so 1 also but not for a hit

Not really sure on that one as the Greek gk hasn’t played a game since moving from Benfica and the quote when bought was this will give some competition to the place so suspect if he gets a chance and plays well Turner has lost his place . I’m looking at taking him out of my time when I get a chance .

ull want him against pool and united for sure.
he has a record against better teams for a reason; he operates in spaces against a high block

He is naturally not so good against the lesser teams.

Burnely just played with a high block, like Soton did when they got battered, that worked out for him.

    Ideal midfield right now?

Salah (cost not an issue) - Maddison - Bowen/JWP - Mbuemo - Diaby

    2. Where to fit in Arsenal midfielder?

      1. Too early to know. Should be clearer before Luton

      2. Over West Ham or Diaby for now

I really like my current midfield: Salah Saka Maddison Sterling Mbeumo. Salah and Maddison are locked in for now, while the rest can chop and change based on fixture blocks

He's not tracking back so you would expect Pep to punish him for that. If that's benching or in other way u don't know, but the West ham goal is mostly his fault. But he will be a factor which may cause little more rotation, which in my view is more a thing in this community than in real life. If you look at City's options they are not strong, squad is not that full of players of world class material anymore. If anything, it's in defence rotation is, but watching City no defender appeals, no attacking and City plays in a way that often leads to one or two big chances against, like yesterday, in which the opponent is likely to score from.

          Diaby is well worth considering.

You've got Botman too which help because all the talk will be about Newcastle defence i suspect.

I only saw a bit of the game so don't know how solid they looked. 3 clean sheets in 23 is an improvement.

But you'd not think it that remarkable that they beat Brentford at home 1-0.

    Hi DZ! Here's an update...

I did something that I usually find so difficult in this game: sat on my freaking hands over the international break

It was really hard to ignore Son (for Saka), Alvarez (for Wissa) and Estupiñán (for Disasi) and... Roll the FT

Now I've got a Henry injury to handle, I've seen Botman pass his audition in flying colours, and I'm clearly going to prioritise Alvarez over Son with my limited funds. A lot of info I wouldn't have seen coming, especially since Son would have locked me out of Alvarez

Wissa + Henry to Alvarez + Botman will give me this, with 0.2m ITB (WC used in GW4):

    Leno
    Chilwell Botman Cash
    Sterling Salah Maddison Saka Mbeumo
    (C)Haaland Alvarez
    .
    Areola Udogie Disasi Semenyo

Good luck, folks. Here's hoping for green arrows. I'm around 280k OR after subs on LiveFPL, 225k right now

Nice job rolling the FT! . I managed the same and it seemed do nothing was the winning option this week.

Wissa's been unlucky and I can see the appeal of Alvarez. More so since you have Mbeumo.( I don't so am keeping Wissa in spite of the 3 consecutive blanks - I bought him ahead of GW3.)

City's fixtures turn pretty hard in GW8 and don't know what happens next week with CL kicking off. Fear I've missed the Alvarez boat

I've been listening to so much Jonathan Pie lately that this rant is more than a little inspired by him (seriously, I'd love for him to read it out loud, even though he hates football). Sorry, this might feel like a re-post for those few that read a similar one from me yesterday, but I'm just boggled by how many bullet points I've actually come up with and one of them has four consolidated!

What. Is. In. The. Old Trafford water? In case anyone needs reminding, these aren't the Oakland Raiders of the 90's, ffs...

    - Greenwood somehow manages to avoid jail, seemingly overwhelming physical evidence notwithstanding, and fecks off to a country with what is apparently a fairly soft stance on assaulting women (though, ironically, not the one I originally thought he'd end up in).

    - Sancho has a p!ss-up with ten Hag and fecks off to train by himself, quite likely having played the last minutes of his short and unhappy United career. So glad we paid 10 mil per each one of his whopping nine goals.

    - Antony (allegedly) decides that having only one player accused of assault just won't do, has a go at his ex-girlfriend and fecks off to Brazil to deal with that. To be fair, in his case it might be addition by subtraction, as the 25 mil it cost for each one of his FOUR goals actually makes Sancho look a relative bargain.

    - Mount gets injured the minute he takes the pitch. Amrabat arrives injured. Casemiro remembers he's the wrong side of 30 and, after a brilliant season, starts playing his age. McTominay turns himself into a goal scoring machine for Scotland, beating Spain basically by himself, but can barely get a game for the club.

    - De Gea fecks off on a free and seemingly can't even find a Saudi club to take him on.

    - Pogba, with what must be the Devil's mark on him (I'm so clever) fecks off back to Juve where he's caught with PEDs. Should have paid his voodoo doctor better, I guess.

    - Apparently confused by his equally blond hair, Nordic heritage and a last name that sounds curiously similar to the biggest Prem sensation in decades, we sign a 19-year-old kid with all of nine league club goals to his name and who also arrives injured.

As result, our only goal in an ugly home loss to Brighton - a team who actually HAS a midfield, despite routinely selling off their best players for sums that would make Jeff Bezos blush, and who have just shipped their best to Chelsea where he promptly forgot how to football - is scored by a 20-year-old kid with all of four senior games to his name, who has spent a year at Birmingham in the Championship and didn't exactly light the pitch on fire with all of a single goal and who looks like Sideshow Bob.

What's left? All we need now is for Rashford and Bruno to take each other out in practice and we can all collectively feck off to the Championship. Actually, it's not all bad. Leicester - a team that has won a Prem title more recently than we have, mind - seem to be doing just fine there. Let's see how Hojlund does on that proverbial cold wet Tuesday night in Stoke. Can't get much worse than this, can it?

Nice one. Does sound good in a JP voice.
It's possible that bringing in Amrabat or Mainoo for Casemiro, and Mount for Eriksen could put you in a good spot to get something at Burnley.

Mainoo is still injured, isn't he?

But that's the sign of the times, isn't it? We're now going to Burnley hoping to "get something", rather than resting the regulars knowing three points are in the bag.

    Saliba Estu Udogie (Baldock Kabore)
    Salah Saka Rashford Maddison Mbuemo
    Haaland Alvarez (Archer)
    1 FT, 0.4 ITB
    WC in hand

Have had a good start so far but I really feel im pushing it a bit with almost no cash to work with every week. So just wanted to know what a good plan for the next few weeks would be

    A) Continue to be stingy and do
Baldock to Lamptey and Kabore to 4.5 ie Botman post double (Lamptey would then make estupinan rotation proof for me and free up 0.1 for Botman)

    B) Create some cash with Rashford to Diaby/Jwp next week and upgrade Baldock and Turner to the likes or Trippier/Chilwell and Flekken etc

Which general direction would you aim for

Let's me keep Rashford and still breathe cash wise too. Can always get zinchenko instead of saliba later in the season So not too worried about losing saliba cash either. Thanks

Well that write up implies that Fulham and Leno are riding their luck.
Clean sheets not that likely to continue.

Brighton bingo will be difficult to call in FPL, but the club continues to excite the fans.

That Man United started brightly and Rashford had 9 shots. But they are in a bit of a pickle.

I do think they get more patience though from their FPL fans, why hold on to Bruno etc with so many options to go to, especially in midfield though perhaps not at Spurs after all.

A day is a long time in football.

    Here's to tomorrow (today) ...

As a non man utd fan and rashford owner.. I think rashford looked like the fpl player of the weekend for everyone's watchlists. Looked a threat throughout in this new role upfront ie best of both worlds(cutting in from the left and playing farther forward). I honestly dunno how he didn't get a goal and assist yesterday. Also, has the best fixtures possible until Gw 13. Going to give him the burnley game atleast.. but I think it's really going to be difficult to get rid of him lol

Selling him would make my life so much easier(look above) .. but it just feels like he ll be one of the highest scorers in the game now till possible WC time ie GW13. Manutd and rashford looked amazing until around 50 or so mins yesterday. Brighton got 2 goals in 2 chances basically and killed the game. I'm keeping the faith vs burnley atleast and will then re assess

so the Twitter stuff I'm seeing that Man United were beaten by a better drilled side costing just £16m or so and they are a club in disarray off the field isn't a reflection of the actual game itself?

            I guess it's not.

Not at all. Post the 2nd goal man utd were obviously deflated.. but first 55 mins or so was fantastic. With the number of mids they have(and no wingers) this new system makes perfect sense too. I hate manchester united usually.. but I'm weirdly bullish on them and rashford with this new formation and players coming back.

Definitely not for the first half; MNU were the better team until the first goal, and Rashford was millimetres away from an assist and a goal, constantly looked threatening - I regret taking him out of my team.

However, once they gained control BHA were much better, the only issue with them is that you have no idea where the points will come from. Mitoma seems to be the most nailed from the front positions but that could go out the window next week with EL starting.

Things couldn't have turned worse for Son fpl this week could it

Just a 0.1 rise followed by a blank and followed by a richarlison masterclass in the last 2 mins of the game which was probably the greatest psychological boost for a striker possible. Won't be surprised if richa is upfront sooner rather than later. Was tempted by rashford to Son last week but held off and will ignore Son for now

... it could have been worse with a penalty miss or red card.

it's funny because everyone says don't knee jerk but many do.

People tend to forget that things change and dont always stay the same. Just because he didnt do anything last season doesn't mean he won't do anything this season. As a chelsea fan he has been great this season and will be their main creator and scorer. So yes he will tick along nicely ie 5 or ppg and not score a hat trick every week..as I type this I realise I'm just an experienced old guy who has played this game for 15 years replying to probably kids/people new to fpl ie 1 and 2 next to your usernames... so our views Will probably never align

From what I see on Twitter it's some kind of fixture swing for a few teams. It's probably AI telling them it's time . I've seen loads saying they are wildcarding in week 8/9. I do think if Chelsea fail today , the fact that UTD are gash and a lot brought Son in that there could be a big change of plan as early as this gw

For what it's worth, I used my WC last week as felt my team needed a change. Ended up making 9 changes to my previous team. It seems to have paid off, at least this week so far.

I'd go with what you think you and your team needs rather than what others, who have different teams, think is optimal.

I've got a rough plan for how I want to use my transfers for the next 4/5 weeks. Mainly about brining in Salah, and originally Son. Though an injury like Henry can easily disrupt plans. My team would probably look a bit different if I played my WC this week.

I would consider Bruno to Salah funded by Jackson (unless he finally starts to finish his chances tomorrow) to Archer if you prefer 3-5-2 or Foden to Sarr if you prefer 3-4-3. Not sure how you feel about owning Salah though. He’s a bit polarizing this season plus you’re an Everton fan. The 3-5-2 direction would solidify your team with a bunch of PK/FK/CK takers and give you a good out on Foden to Diaby as his fixtures shift soon.
