Bukayo Saka (£9.1m) has been the talk of the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) world over the last few days – and not for good reasons.

His fifth blank in six Gameweeks came at Crystal Palace on Saturday and coincided with him being backed with the captaincy by over a million managers.

We’ll be looking into Saka’s points shortage in two parts.

In a forthcoming opinion piece, we’ll be asking some of our contributors whether they’ll be keeping faith in Saka.

But first, it’s all about the numbers.

Is KDB overhyped ?

Typically a 200 point player, c. 10 goals per season, mostly assists...not a massive goal threat...now likely to get 30 mins for the next few games...

        No he doesn't. He regularly gets lumped deeper. He may be consistent season on season, but he's not through the season, and that's why he's almost never been a season keeper

  After Scholes, this man is the best mid to ever grace the Premier League. Plus coming off a major injury he has 1 goal and 2 assists in a total of 56 minutes (FA Cup and GW21). He will never be overhyped in my opinion.

      I get that, but he's not known for goal threat. Jota is your guy if you strictly want a finisher right now.
      But if there is someone you would put money on to get you a return every week, it's likely KDB. Assist GOAT on a high scoring team, who can even score himself.

        Fair enough. I'm a bigtime fan girl and had KDB week 1 when he was injured. True, his minutes will be managed, but with Salah away, and Kev's propensity to capitalise when he's on the pitch – works for me. A quality differential in a top notch squad.

As Keane says “your eyes don’t lie” and I just see a poor return from an expensive player. Martinelli is on form.m and only costs 7.7m. Arguably a lot fresher as well since he hasn’t played as much.
