Is there a reason why he won't start? I assumed last week was just classic De Zerbi rotating for the sake of it and he'll come straight back in this weekend. Is there more to it than that?

I desperately wanna get rid of him but I’m giving him this one last chance and then regardless I’m booting. I reckon he starts next game.

Trossard for me. Odegaard is a safer choice but Trossard has played half the minutes and scored more goals so I'd back him over Odegaard tbh.

      Roughs:
LiveFPL said that my team was Very Template, although I only had one clone in the top million.
So what happened? Another red arrow, of course.
My main problem was not having Saka. I sold him for KDB in Gameweek 22, and in the four Gameweeks since then he outscored KDB by 49 points to 18, my OR dropped from 546k to 767k, and I as eliminated from Last Man Standing and various cups. Ouch!

      Other Roughs:
Jota's and Adebayo's injuries, KDB, Foden, Leno, Trippier, Mykolenko and Palmer blanking, and Haaland's underwhelming triple captaincy.

      Smooths: Watkins, Saliba and Gabriel.
Liverpool still top of the League.

Saka returns to my team in place of Jota next week, and I should then have eleven outfield payers plus two goalkeepers if they all stay fit and don't get injured or dropped.

I had taken a 4-point hit in GW24 to replace non-starter Archer with in-form DGW25 player Adebayo – but then Archer started in GW24, while Adebayo missed DGW25 through injury.
And I had brought in Jota in preference to Saka in GW25 because of the DGW. I had always intended to replace Jota with Saka in GW26 even if he hadn't been injured.

Kev & Son let me down. Muniz points stuck on the bench. My defenders are laughable and their scores were a joke.

Not great - six DGW players no real score - learnt to go now with gut & look to have faith in fixtures of SGW over DGW players

      Haaland TC - fail

Swapped last moment for a hit Watkins to Darwin (-4) lost in real terms 12 points if
      I had decided to stick

      Smooth:
Choosing Robertson over Bradley and him then getting an assist after coming on as a sub
Odegaard and Saka Arsenal double up
      Kyle Walker over Foden
Hoijlund continuing to get me points

      Rough
Solanke getting more on the bench than KDB's double

Smooth - Gordon & Groß, no Jota

Smooth Saka, Gordon, Watkins & double Arsenal defence

Rough TC on Haaland, I mean I'm thankful for that goal at the end but few the chip has been wasteful, Jota & Nunez really bad luck within those two.

      Smooth

      Rough:
-TC Haaland, what a waste of a chip. Now Solanke gonna get 30x3 in GW28
-Speaking of, I took a -4 to bring in Toney for Solanke
      - Benched Watkins and played Richarlison (I know)
      -Jota

      Smooth:
      -VVD and Walker kinda hauled

Rough: Allison, Adebayo and Jota injuries. BenchBoost gave 6 points. It fits in my season of bad luck.

Smooth: 79 points all out gave a small green arrow (but only just within top 1 million).

Smooth; I had a good one! 94 points, despite selling Odegaard, and a 773k GW rank. Now up to 1.3m from the depths of 5.5m pre-Xmas. Haaland(tc), Saka, Watkins, VvD, Gabriel and Alvarez returning.

Rough; Second week in a row I've missed out on Odegaard's points having benched last week. Brought in Foden but bringing in VvD for Porro too levelled up the deal in the end 15-15. Going to get Ode back now!

If you have a team that's sufficient for GW29 and won't need your FH.
Is it worth considering FH28 to maximise on doublers in that GW?
The fixtures in general during that week are poor and a lot of good teams play against each other.
The alternative is to play FH34 but the doubles in that GW are underwhelming.

    1. Snake Juice
      • 9 Years

FH34 is better because the potential doublers that week are players you won't necessarily want in your main team going forward

    A- Ødegaard
    B- Douglas Luiz.
Game week 29 in mind as used Freehit chip already.
Is having Odegaard better for next 3 fixtures then take minus 4

    1. SalahFingers
      • 7 Years

Personally, I would take budget into count here. If you want Son or Salah in, you'll need money, so Douglas Luiz is a few mill cheaper than Odegaard.

But.. for the next 3, I would prefer Odegaard over Douglas Luiz.

    Areola
    Taylor Gabriel Estu
    Saka KDB Foden Jota
    Archer Watkins Haaland

    Dubravka VVD Doughty Palmer

    1 FT; 1.8 itb

Tempted to take a -4 below. Or even a -8 to bring in a better defender to start instead. Worth the punt?

    Jota to Garnacho
    KDB to Neto/Hee Chan
Maybe Doughty to a playing defender

    1. SalahFingers
      • 7 Years
      1 year, 9 months ago

I wouldn't sell a perfectly good player (KDB) before a blank gameweek like this. You already have a few doubtful with Estu, Jota and Archer, so I'd personally just switch Jota to someone and leave KDB until next week (or another week).

Same with Doughty. He's got a blank for this week, but should be fine afterwards, so I wouldn't take a hit for him.

I'd do Jota -> Garnacho out of that, although I'd prefer someone else over Garnacho.

Not sure if KDB is fit to play this weekend. Worried that he might be on the bench again.

I might keep Doughty as I'm not keen on taking a hit for a defender. Hopefully his value doesn't drop.

          • 7 Years

KDB might be on the bench. This article has an update from the boss about that. There was a niggle in his hamstring and wasn't risked.

Either way, I wouldn't transfer someone out unless they are not gonna play. KDB is always a risk. He's a walking injury and that's just the way he's always been, but I wouldn't sell him yet. Wait for news closer to the game IMO.

It’s a hard call debating between the Wolves midfielders, and even Garnacho for this upcoming GW.

I’m hoping to get KDB news as well. Starting to regret bringing him in. He steps up vs the big teams (United and Pool upcoming) but the injury is obviously a concern with his price tag

    Areola
    Ake Estupinan Lamptey Saliba

    Dubravka Darwin Palmer Porro

    1. Darwin >> Solanke [-4]

I'd get Solanke. You will want him for the double in GW28 either way. His fixtures are good too (except for the next one, which is Man City)

    B) Watkins (-4)

B is the more sensible choice but I like A's short term fixtures tbh so I'd be tempted to go with him.

I'd also be temped to do neither and get Solanke instead with his fixtures and upcoming double.

Cheers, I have Solanke. I had planned on a Watkins to Darwin hokey-cokey.

The hokey worked, albeit for only 5 points but price rise etc. prevent a smooth cokey.

Hence - do I take the hit or run with the ManU crew.

Other part of the - 4 would be Estupinan to Pau (FWIW).

Who would you rather keep long term if you had to sell one:

    Richarlson or Luis Diaz?

    1. C0YS
      • 9 Years

That's a tough call. Richarlison the safer option, Diaz more explosive and playing for a more exciting side scoring goals for fun. I would go with Diaz if I were confident of his minutes, otherwise Richarlison.

Cheers. I've been leaning Diaz too but actually thinking I might just sell him to Hwang then use the money ITB to do KDB to Salah next week. Richarlison wouldn't be enough to fund that.

      I'd probably keep Richarlison.

Definite game in gw29, and a future extra fixture that is surely a double somewhere.

Luis Diaz no extra game and a possible blank in gw29 IF they beat Southampton in 6 days.

Ahh good point about 29. Blanks always throw a spanner in the works. Might just FH that week anyway depending how many blanks end up happening.

If the fixtures weren't an issue, I see both of them as basically the same. Richarlison didn't get anything since Son is back, so I wonder was Richarlison pushed to a less good position? If so, then maybe Luis Diaz would be better?

I'm stupid.. I had the transfers ready for the past half and hour but only pressed it now. The game complained that the prices changed and I lost 0.1 on the transfer... Doh, but at least it's less important at this stage of the season.

Does anyone know what matches are likely to be blank in GW29? I have a free hit and wildcard, and I'm not sure when to use either of them. Probably GW28 and GW29.

Unsure at the moment with GW29 & would depend on how many you have playing to use chip
possible FH if team weak otherwise maybe wait for GW34 ish when more DGW predicted

Plenty of gameweeks to go, so can make transfers to deal with either. I don't really have to worry about non players this far out, but it's nice to know well in advance.

I might as well use my WC, Free Hit, or Bench boost if the fixtures look decent, and those 2 gameweeks look very possible.

    Rate my Wildcard Team

    Areola (Dubravka)
    Dalot Saliba Gabriel Moreno (Bell)
    Saka HeeChan KDB (Son)
    Watkins Haaland Hojlund

    Hojlund + Dalot > Senesi + Solanke in GW28.

Getting a mix of the essentials + fixtures+ doublers. Salah probably in GW30

I wouldn't get Areola or Dubravka at this stage. I know a bunch of us got them because they are cheap, but they are both useless. I'd get Pickford, Onana, or maybe Johnstone instead if you must go cheap.

I also would prefer Salah over KDB. Obviously not for this week, but if you are wildcarding now, you should have enough spares to cover the few blanks.

Otherwise, looks decent. I like your GW28 idea. I can't see those 2 Man Utd players form keeping up for too much longer.

I fear that salah won’t be back until GW28.

I think he may come off bench Vs Forest, then start Vs City. Using FH29 so will have him for that GW.

        1. SalahFingers
          • 7 Years

Definitely possible, but then KDB is just as dodgy for minutes. We thought he was back but he still blanked. KDB was probably rested, but why was he rested when he's barely played all year?

I'd probably go safe and choose someone like Foden instead. He's pretty reliable for minutes and doesn't score badly either.
