Only have 3 players currently for GW29… I’m torn between free hitting, meaning I don’t have to worry about using my transfers for that gameweek… or taking a few hits to try and get 7/8 players to make do…

    Transfers would look something like this;

    GW27: roll transfer
    GW28: Hwang, Estupinan & Foden > Barkley, Doughty & Bowen (-4)
    GW29: Solanke & KDB > Toney & Son

    Would leave me with;

    Areola
    Taylor Doughty
    Barkley Son Bowen
    Watkins Toney

Dubravka Haaland Palmer Saka Gusto Gabriel

Yeah I get your point… suppose the other point to make is a couple of those transfers would be ones I would like to make anyway (Barkley & Doughty) with Luton having a DGW.. so doesn’t take much more to get a reasonable enough team for 29..

You’re right though, would mean I could kind of just forget about GW29..

Oh ya like the transfers you've listed are all pretty solid. As long as you weren't fixating on 29 too much at the expense of the other GWs.

Don't mind buying into their attack from next week but the defence is still an avoid for me. Might get a CS v BUR but after that... could be less than 2pts against Villa, Spurs etc

For me entry point massively matters here. If it catches the DGW then definitely Doughty. One off for BGW29 I'd take Reggy. Coufal is punty and I've considered him for my FH. I would not bring him in long term, so I'd say less interesting as part of a no FH strategy, unless using WC in 30/31

Doughty because of quantity and reasonable quality of fixtures.

But unless you are already rocking 5-6 attackers who play in 29, I would focus on moves there

"For example, even selling Erling Haaland (£14.5m) against Liverpool for Carlton Morris‘ (£5.1m) Double Gameweek 28 is logical, as you are gaining three fixtures as opposed to one."

I agree with Camzy. Last time Luton had a double game week I captained Morris who got 20. Captaining Haaland (away at Wolves) would have got me 4. No one active will be captaining Haaland in GW28 or GW30, so risk is further reduced.

Can't say I've really kept up with any BOU assets this season (statistics or by watching them) other than Solanke. I have Estu, Taylor and Maguire in my defense. I will FH in 29.

I am sick of gambling on Estu, but also tempted to have one more roll of the dice. I want to keep Maguire for EVE (H) next week.

    1) Estu to BOU
    2) Taylor to BOU

    A) Senesi
    B) Zabarnyi

I don't know anything about these players, any injury concerns to consider? I hear Zabarnyi has decent underlying stats and is nailed, but Senesi more explosive? Also cautious of Senesi 8 bookins.

    Advice please??

I don't think a haul is entirely out of the question TBH, but I also actually agree with this. I think it's OK to sell him, because even he does haul I literally will chalk that off as an extra reason why I hated the last few weeks of owning him.

That's 8 guaranteed points though with the potential for more.

The reason I generally prefer FH in blanks than DGWs is because you are guaranteed to come out ahead. In DGWs, Saka with his single GW can and often will outscore your Ross Barkley with 2 games.

Who's to say that FH29 will be a dud? If Spurs net a few, a high scoring game of WHU vs AVL and a Brentford win to 0 with a Toney brace vs Burnley and the week could be quite decent.

it's a pretty straightforward trade off though. You lose those guaranteed 8 points now but gain them back when you get 4 or more extra games when you play your FH in 34.

1 if not playing FH in BGW29

2 or 3 if you are playing FH BGW29. Which of 2 or 3, I'd struggle to advise. Elite consensus is Arsenal double up if that holds any sway for you.

Sorry I initially missed this was a question on A/B/C in addition with a Hwang > Son.

Gordon at home and a good fixture. I would 100% play him either way.

100% clear, is if you are FH29 then your team is definitely strong enough for GW27 to not take a hit.

IF you get clear news that Solanke is not playing, I'd do Hwang to Son and bench Solanke - otherwise I'd actually roll.

But it's your game and your choice 🙂

It's interesting that not a lot of people are talking about team value when weighing up the "pros & cons" of a FH29 vs No FH29 strategy. If you used transfers to build your way to FH 29, whether wildcarding or not afterwards, you'd majority have a team full of players you wouldn't want for the long-term and an expensive list of assets to bring back in.

I think when the decision is between such fine margins (at least it was for me) between getting 7-8 out with FT/hits vs. a full 11 with FH - then actually TV can be the deciding factor.

    1. Camzy
      • Fantasy Football Scout Member

I don't really see how TV is relevant until GW31. We can afford everyone we want between now and then.

      1. 112kane112
        • 7 Years
        1 year, 9 months ago

That's my point. If I start switching out players which I've got in at low buying prices, to only have to WC them back in 30/31 - I could literally be having ~1m or more less to utilize come that point.

Of course it's ream relevant and depends on when you bought certain players in.

For example I would want both Haaland and Saka back in, who I have for 13.9m and 8.6m respectively

        1. Paul Psychic Octopus
          • 14 Years

It's always painful losing TV. But have to consider other factors.
Hardly ever been able to pick Salah, KDB, Son and Haaland at the same time due to injuries, overseas tournaments etc.

So many excellent, low price alternatives this season (as in most seasons).

My view is you build team value in the first two thirds of the season, to utilise it in the last third.

    2. HashAttack

On the other hand, those using FH29 could end up with a lot of players injured in gw28 and having to hold through the international break and lose money that way

Team value has certainly entered my mind while drafting a potential 31 wildcard and, while there will be losses incurred while I choose not to free hit in 29, I think that's the way to go with the current set-up I have. Going to be tough to swallow the losses but sometimes they're unavoidable

    Dubravka,
    Saliba, Ake, Gabriel,
    Saka, KDB, Palmer, Son
    Watkins, Haaland, #Solanke,

    Flekken, Gordon, Burn, Van Heke,

    Suggestions please?
Commited to the FH29, so looking at this week, here is my main dillema:

    A) KDB > Son and hope that Solanke will play
    B) Keep KDB who could go nuclear vs Man Utd (also could be benched) and do Hwang > Bowen
    C) KDB, Hwang > Son, Bowen for -4

If Porro is out I have to play one of Reguilon or Estupinan.

    What would you do?

    A) Reguilon
    B) Estupinan
    C) Take a -4 for... Zabarnyi?

Rest of defense is Gabriel, Porro, Senesi

If Lamptey is injured, Estupinan should play. I've got him and considering playing him

Are there any other alternatives if Lamptey is injured? As an Estu owner too, I may hold and play if pressers confirms Lamptey is out.

Tough one with it being for a hit.

A for me. BRE have a very small chance at a clean sheet and a higher chance and getting something against leaky Chelsea.

Reguilon. I've been hurt by Estupinan's recent benchings. Reguilon has also looked good going forward since I signed him a few weeks ago and would be content to start him against a Chelsea team which has misfired plenty recently.

Having said that, if we get news of Lamptey/other injuries, Estupinan could drag me back in

I've seen a few posts from folks apprehensive on Son this GW due to poor form after Asian cup.

2 week break, long term data to back up the quality FPL asset he is, likely playing CF and on pens makes him an easy transfer in this GW.

makes sense. I'm leaning more towards Odegarrd atm for no reason what so ever

Who should be first defender sub in case Porro doesn't play
Doughty or Moreno (I'm leaning Doughty)

Moreno assuming predictors have him starting

Spurs are still the only visiting team to keep a cs away to Luton this season (and they did it with 10 men 🙂 )

Low CS odds for Luton and 2.10 goals odds for Villa

    A) Dubrav (WOL)
    B) Areola (Eve)

    Oitb. Ofts. G2g?

(PS I'd just like to apologise in advance to anybody who is offended by this question. Of course, I have a brain of my own and opinions of my own. I just enjoy taking in different perspectives also. It's unacceptable, I know, but I'm trying to be a benner man.

    Areola (Neto)
    Saliba, Gabriel, Senesi (Ait-Nouri, Branthwaite)
    Salah, Saka, KDB, Palmer (Garnacho)
    Watkins, Solanke, Haaland (c)

Garnacho first sub, then Ait-Nouri, then Branthwaite.

Looks ok, though would've thought Branthwaite had better chance of a cs as opposed to Ait-Nouri's assist probability. Just a shame you were subjected to all that puerile crap earlier fella. Have also gambled on Salah this gw, so GL. 🙂

Yeah, I had it on Branthwaite but Newcastle have been so bad defensively so switched. Branthwaite probably is sensible, though.

All good here, appreciate the comment.

Although he did get subbed early in their game the other night so not sure it he took a knock or not. Hopefully find out in presser.

Find it funny Haaland is supposedly getting enough transfers in to trigger another price increase.
