Muniz a good cheap 3rd forward for 29 with Watkins & Toney
    For anyone playing FH

I agree - I'll be bringing Muniz in for 29 to replace Solanke. Not on FH but it will allow me to move to Salah in 30 for free and then most weeks he'll be bench fodder. Biggest downside for me is that I won't have Toney in 29

How long is Trent out for?

Would you sell Bradley if you're not planning on playing him this week? It's either him or Taylor out for a Bournemouth defender.

Not sure how long is TAA out, but if he's not back for a 2/3 weeks, then Liverpool has good fixtures in 30 and 31. Would maybe keep him until then and bench in 28 if you can.

    ‘Chip strategy is team dependent’

    Has anyone given advice on:
    - if your team currently looks like this, this strategy might be best

If no GK in 29 then the decision is straightforward. If you have Areola, prefer Neto for 28 & 30-32

  6. Karan_G14

    Dubravka
    Gabriel Saliba Porro
    Son Maddison Foden Saka
    Haaland Watkins Solanke

    (Areola Garnacho Estu Cash)

    GW28:
Haaland & Foden to Morris & Bowen -4

    GW29
    Solanke to Toney (9 players)

    GW30
    Garnacho to Salah

    GW31 WC

Thoughts on this plan? Worth taking a hit for Bou def/Doughty this week?

I think a hit for Doughty, seeing as it gives you 3 games compared to Estu's one, makes sense

      1. Karan_G14
        • 9 Years

True although I would have to bench Porro for that this week. Even Bou def gives me 3 games actually because they have EVE in GW30 and Doughty has Spurs when I need a defender as Arsenal play City.

I don't think I want to TC Solanke, so perhaps Morris is the better pick for the double plus a fixture in 29.
    Who would you go for?
    A Solanke
    B Morris.

Of course. I'll captain whoever I bring. Just a question of current form / niggling knee injuries and an extra fixture. I have no Free Hit and serious lack of players for 29.

    What to do about Adebayo?

Clearly depends on how fitness, but if confirmed fit to play the double would you still swap him for Solanke? Not going to FH so costs me a player and it's a hit (as likely doing KDB to Bowen with FT)

    1. Tonyawesome69

Currently recovering from a hamstring injury. If fit, I don't see him starting the first game which reduces overall mins over 28-29 compared to Solanke.

Luton will be reminded to what happened with Bell on Saturday after supposedly recovering from hammy injury

Leno > Neto worth doing, (even for a hit?)

GK: Areola / Leno / Neto
    28: BUR* / WOL / SHU+LUT**
    29: AVL / TOT / blank
    30: NEW / SHU* / EVE**
    31: TOT / NFO* / CRY**
    32: WOL* / NEW / LUT**
    33: FUL** / WHU* / MUN
    34: CRY* / LIV[?] / AVL [+ WOL?]

    * = who I'd play with no transfer
    ** = who I'd play with transfer

    GW34 DGW/BGW possibility for BOU/FUL:
    https://twitter.com/BenCrellin/status/1763697094529782029?t=y8FrW9nh4vCwAvVNx-15VA&s=19

I'm FH29 so can ignore that week. If BOU get the DGW in 34 that's a bonus. I'd likely want to punt on someone like Eze who'll probably have a DGW [WHU + NEW] then too, so hedging against Areola that week!

Areola & Leno have been a fab fair since GW6. Fixtures for all three toughen up from GW34ish, but that's okay as I'll likely WC around then, or just after.

I hate rotating goal keepers. Feel like it's so easy to get wrong.

Got Pickford and Areola myself in 20 and I've benched 40 points Vs playing 27. Nightmare

Gained 41 points rotating Leno & Areola... and that's on top of them being the two highest scoring keepers in the game.

Doesn't usually work this well but has this year.

Thougths on the Leno > Neto move (and if for -4)?

I'd fancy Areola to keep Burnley out (but noting my rotation record, maybe do the opposite) so I don't think the hit pays off without Neto getting two clean sheets and I'd fancy Luton will score

Jealous. You've probably killed us on GK points with that combo.

Bringing in Dubravka has been a net negative I'm pretty sure. Would have been better off just keeping Areola and playing him every week. Kelleher has been decent so far and saves budget but let's see.

If folks can cover most of the heavy hitters in attack without many hits then the FH can be saved imo

It depends how you hit and when. I did -4 for Son and Doughty this week which has me 8 points up on the players I took out and +2 players in 29. Son should be a good pick Vs Villa plus Doughty has a double and that's all before getting to 29.

        I agree, just taking a -8 or -12 in 29 isn't worth it

It depends which players you go for. Target attackers for the hits as defense is crap this season. FH is relatively risk free as you are taking out players that aren't playing. If u can get 20 more points than the pack in gw29 you gives a ra k boost and probs what you might be able to get in gw34, but we ha e time to build and the predicted dgw teams aren't great

Yeah that's what I mean. I only hit for Doughty because I had 2 playing defenders. But I wouldn't hit for another defender.

I just can't see the ceiling on 29 being that high to make the delay between 7 or 8 good picks and a full 11 on FH

By and large other than Villa and a couple of Spurs players and Muniz you'd likely not want to have those players for gw30 onwards.

Which is why I still reckon it's better to FH into them in gw29.

You could also go for Villa midfield in that scenario.

Possibly edge it with a chance of a Brentford clean sheet too.

He's in awful form though. Mind, he did get 16 points against SHU last time out!

Anyone you're happy to play from gw30, or hold until your wildcard 2 is played.

Bournemouth actually score more away from home, so that may limit their attacking options in midfield etc. across the double.

Do you reckon both Sheff United and Luton will score, or not?

      Current players i have:
      Areola
      Senesi doughty reguillon
      Bowen
      Watkins

Could add a replacement for mykolenko and solanke to add two more without any hits.

If I use this weeks transfer on a player that plays in GW29 e.g. Haaland > Morris, then I'll have 7, probably take a hit for an 8th.

      Robinson.

Antonee Robinson (£4.5m) can’t be beaten by any other sub-£5.0m defender for Fantasy returns (clean sheets, assists and goals) in 2023/24.

    -
    Doughty - Taylor
    Son
    Watkins

This is currently my players for GW29. With 1 hit i can get to:

    -
    Doughty - Taylor - Regulion
    Son - Bowen
    Watkins - Toney

Worth it or just use FH? Will be missing 3 fixutes. 4 if you count Taylor.

Wouldn't bother hitting in regulion. Try to get another attacker like Maddison or Luiz etc.

Pretty close to FH for me.

        Thanks!

In order to get Bowen i need to do Estu -> cheaper defender. I could do Watkins or Haaland out for Morris or Munez.

Here is my team, I'm dead-ending into 29.
Which 3 of these shall I make?

    Raya(blanks) Dubravka
    Porro Estupinan Moreno Ake Reguilon
    Saka Son Palmer Bowen Foden
    Watkins Toney Haaland

    A. Raya/Dubravka to Kaminski
    B. Estupinan/Ake to Doughty
    C. Foden to Barkley
    D. Haaland to Morris
    E. Haaland to Solanke (-4)

I'd do Haaland > Solanke because you need a captain for this week.

Estupinan > Doughty also makes sense for a deadend 29 strat. I'd probably do Raya > Kaminski for an additional hit since that gains you 2 fixtures over the next 2 weeks.

      In summary, I'd do:
Raya, Estupinan, Haaland > Kaminski, Doughty, Solanke -4

Next week maybe you'd consider Palmer > Maddison and field 9.

        Thanks for the extra detail.
Those were the moves that I initially thought about with Foden to Maddison the most likely in 29.

Part of me is leaning towards bringing in triple Luton without Solanke which is the major flaw.

    Doughty or Bou def?

Both players give me 3 games over the replacement.
Bou def blanks in 29 but can start him in GW30 (EVE) when Doughty plays Spurs and my two Arsenal defenders against City.

If FH in 29, BOU defender

If it wasn't for doubles and blanks, my next moves would involve these switches when players become available.

    Senesi, KDB, Solanke
    to
    Schar, Salah, Muniz

Would that be an upgrade from gw30 onwards?

Schar could be any defender up to £5.4m.

I wouldn't go back to Newcastle defence just yet, I think. Would like to see another 1-2 games first as Saturday could easily be a one off with Wolves' decimated attack

        Yeah

Somehow I've avoided Newcastle defense all season and all their points in the process.

They are still decent enough at home but outside of the top 4 all teams have lost lots of games.

Apparently Wolves were pretty woeful in their general play at St James' Park.

Guess I've realised I've got KDB and Solanke to Salah and Muniz with a reasonable budget for a defender.

        Fixtures confuse matters tho.

Senesi to another Bournemouth defender most likely the move.

This week could bring more amber and red flags etc of course.

        • 12 Years

I'd argue it isn't decimated because Sarabia, Neto, Bellegarde all play regularly too. Fixtures generate form too so I wouldn't worry about jumping on early.
Would Botman be a better use of funds though?
