Dead ending to 29 and for free would be the only way I would even half-think about considering this.

It looks an odd move in isolation, but it could pay off given Barkley's extra 2 fixtures over the next 2 GWs.

2 free transfers. Which 2 Bournemouth players are the best move?

    A) Neto / Zabarni

    B) Zabarni / Tavenier

Would be dropping either Dubravka, Charlie Taylor or Hwang

    I stupidly did my transfers Sunday night because I've been frustrated with my performance this season and in my haste I only checked for Senesi getting his 9th YC. Not realising he only played 11mins and came off with injury. I ultimately did Estupinan and De Bruyne to Senesi & Son (for free) making this team;

    Areola
    Doughty², Senesi²*, Gabriel
    Son, Saka (c), Foden, Gordon
    Haaland, Watkins, Semenyo²

    Dubravka, Trippier, Porro, Hwang

I can also afford Semenyo² > Solanke² (-4).

    I was however contemplating wildcarding. The above team gives me five players for BGW29, six if I do Hwang > Bowen (-4) this week or in GW29. So I think I kind of have to FH29. This is what my WC team would be (still requiring a FH29);

    Neto, Areola
Gabriel, Doughty, Emerson, Livramento (could leave Porro in for GW29 if Trippier injury not serious), C. Richards
Saka, Bowen, Richarlison* (news dependant, could easily be Maddison), Gordon, Palmer
    Haaland, Solanke, Watkins

Leaves 6.8 ITB to bring in Salah for Bowen (if I go Porro over Livra it leaves me 0.3 ITB). It would also mean I then have 7 for GW29 and could skip the FH?

Much better to wildcard post FH.

Don't do it to wrap up the 4 points hit, that probably compounds things.

Haven't actually taken a hit yet, it was 2FTs (the Senesi transfer). This was my original plan (what you said), think I'm mostly frustrated. Would you take the -4 for Semenyo > Solanke (exact funds), FH29 and then WC30 or WC31?

        Appreciate the feedback.

What if you do the Solanke move in 28 expecting his ownership to be huge & WC into 29?

It is GW28 now, right? So it'd be Semenyo > Solanke for a hit (exact funds). WC in 29 to then have 7/8 players and slowly make transfers away from the fodder you mean? Not a bad shout either.

    How do these moves look?

Ake + Haaland -> Doughty + Morris (-4) this GW, then Solanke -> Toney next GW giving me 9 players for 29. WCing in 30/31.

I will likely take another -4 in 29 for 10 players with 6 attackers to negate the gains of the FHs. A FH in a later Dgw can very easily result in a 30 to 40 point boost.

Is it worth going double Bournemouth defence for a -4? Thinking of bringing in Neto and Zabarnyi for Alisson and Estupinan. Will FH29.

    Alisson Areola
    Saliba Walker Estupinan Konsa Bradley
    Son Saka Bowen Gordon Palmer
    Haaland Watkins Solanke

Got a defensive issue this week where it's only Saliba that I'm comfortable playing. Will also have some defensive issues for 30-33 and will start Zab for a few of those games.

Also want to have a DGW keeper for 34 and would need someone who rotates well with Areola from 30-33...Neto does seem the best option. Would like to have held onto Alisson for 30 and 31 and then move him to Pickford but it doesn't look like Alisson will be back for GW30 so thinking that I may as well move for Neto now considering he has a double this week.

    Thoughts?

      My non-FH 29 will be:

      Flekken

      Son, Bowen, Bailey, Kulu/Barkley
      Watkins, Toney, Muniz

Plus plenty of money to spend on a bench who will invariably outscore my first 11!

    Areola

Is Foden > Bowen (-4) crazy?

I need a -4 anyway to get a half decent team out in 29 (no FH), could be more likely to pay back having Bowen v Burnley too.

Also allows me funds to do Solanke > Toney next week for free.

Otherwise I keep Foden and either take the -4 next week or ignore Toney. Advice?

        Areola
        Porro Doughty Taylor
        Son Richarlison*
        Watkins

So basically I need to add a mid and fwd at least.

Rich to Bowen the other obvious option but then I likely can't afford Toney, and I'm holding out a bit of hope Rich gets fit in time.

To FH 29 or not, is the question?
With a -4 I can get to something like:

    Areola
Doughty Kabore (I know he isn’t nailed)
    Barkley Son
    Watkins Toney

This team probably falls some 20 points short of FH29 teams. But would it be worth saving the FH for 34 or 37 as there could be better teams and fixtures to target? Would that make up the different if not have better upside? Also have WC and BB left, so I would ideally want to WC close to my BB.

Morris might actually be good gamble. Solanke isn't fully fit and is playing with pain. We have seen Rashford and Son playing in similar(?) situation and it has been told later as explanation of their poor form.

Areola having Burnley next means that getting Neto for Dubravka (-4) might easily backfire big time. However, Neto has extra fixture and bigger upside. After JotaDarwinKdB dgw25 disaster and OR inside 400k, I have nothing to lose. Neto with his (now) below 5% ownership could be differential worth trying?

    1. Bob B
      • 12 Years
      1 year, 9 months ago

If you have Areola then I don't think it's worth going for Neto. You have a good fixture this week and someone who plays in 29.
There will be a variety of goalkeepers in play and they are not going to be the ones that push you up the ranks.

There will be more people with Bournemouth defence this week so getting Neto will just mean you move along with them.

Without Senesi I don't know who has biggest upside. If I have even 45% chance to win with the gamble, it's better than nothing. I have to find a way to differentiate my team from template. With template I won't get even top 100k ranking.

As a rough plan ( it can and probably will go wrong ) thoughts on this plan to navigate 28-33 with no chip. Means hits but some of these needed anyway whatever chip strategy is and feel probably bigger gains in future weeks than FH 29?

    Week 28 for -8
    Senesi to Udogie ( injury)
    Richarlison to Bowen ( injury)
Haaland to Solanke ( need Solanke for captain)

    Areola
    Gabriel Doughty Udogie
    Son Saka Bowen Foden Palmer
    Watkins Solanke (c)

    Dubravka Toney Pau Taylor

    Week 29 for -4 and 11 playing
    Solanke to Muniz
    Foden to Maddison

    Week 30 free transfer
    Bowen to Salah

    Week 31 -8 for
Watkins to Haaland, Maddison to Elanga, Pau to Saliba ( need to get Haaland back, want to double Arsenal defence so cash needed)

    Week 32
    Carry transfer

    Week 33
    Udogie Son to Ake Foden

Week 34 FH , Week 35/6 WC, Week 37 BB

Tbf Senesi could easily be out 1-2 months so I think he's a sell now or on a wildcard etc.

I've had him about 7 gws or so for his goal threat so I can deal with it okay.

Oh, thanks. If he's out for that long he'll have to go, but I'd probably be WC'ing him out anyway.

I’d do B. Am tempted by Bowen for this week but not sure I want him medium term over other mids, plus I feel benching one of Palmer or Foden may pay off but will be one of those situations where you inevitably make the wrong call

Yeah, but atm I'm benching Kev, unless Martenelli is ruled out.

Which defender do you think is worth a shot in gw28?

    Dubravka (Turner)
    Ake VVD Gabriel (Taylor Porro)
    Palmer Foden Son Saka (Gordon)
    Watkins Solanke Haaland

    1 FT, £1.3m ITB

Tempted to roll FT, or to upgrade keeper situation? Any better ideas?

Are you free hitting in 29, as no point in rolling if so as you’ll lose the transfer

Ake > Bournemouth defender or Turner > Neto would probably be a good move for this week

Does Kiwior look like keeping his place?

    Currently on:

    Areola* (Dub)
    Gabriel Doughty* Ake (Porro* Taylor*)
    Saka Odegaard Palmer Foden (Neto)
    Haaland Watkins* Solanke

    2FT, £4.5m ITB,*s play in 29

Am set on Ake > Zabarnyi for 1 transfer

    Would you
    A. Roll the other (play above front 7, keep 2 FT for GW29 to possibly take a -4 to get to 7/8 players and not free hit
    B. Also do Neto > Bowen/ Son and bench one of the above attackers (probably Foden or Haaland even though that seems ridiculous), still no free hit and play with 7/8 players in 29
    C. Do Neto > Bowen/ Son as above but free hit in 29 to get a full team out without tearing up squad I’m otherwise happy with

Thanks. That’s probably my leaning - and I think going for Son over Bowen (who I don’t know if I want medium term after this week’s good fixture), and then I still have option of free hitting next week without having burned a transfer if I have a change of heart or injuries change anything

I am thinking of KdB to Son myself. I like Bowen fixture but I think Son is worth more depending on when it is wc time, or definitely worth more if you don't have that option left
