Pep's comments on Haaland feel oddly reminiscent of those he made for a number of weeks when he eventually ended up being out for nearly 2 months

Still feel like the answer is keep on WC and bench this week. You will still want him in 37 which is 2 weeks away and easier to downgrade to get him out than to work him back in.

I sold him in GW28 and haven't looked back. I don't have WC but I'm FH37 so I don't have the dilemma, but I can honestly see myself going without him even on FH. Hasn't looked all that impressive for a long while this season

Yeah. I had him until his injury in 16, then briefly for four weeks from 24-27. I think its the FOMO and EO that worries me - lucky assist and penalty against Luton gave me a massive red arrow despite a decent week otherwise.

No WC so will bench this week. I'd get Watkins on a WC with enough itb to buy Haaland back if necessary.

Its the age old "booking transfers" thing though - look at those who did WC30 who have 4-5 injuries. Given Liverpool likely out of the title race by 37, Watkins at home is not a bad fixture I guess, but having the £6m delta sitting in the bank is £6m you aren't earning points on.

Money is not an issue for the rest of the season for me at least. £2.6m itb and that's with Haaland Salah Isak Solanke Bruno Foden Palmer White Gabriel and Gordon the enabler.

Keeping an injured Haaland on a WC is effectively booking a transfer out potentially. Will check Reddit to see if family members sell him this week.

Worded that bad lol, but I prefer Ode in 36 over Foden. Why would I want Foden when I’m chasing and think Ode will outscore him? Plus I’m not going to ply Foden this week. Booking transfers is no issue look my bench

Don't book in transfers - at very least get Foden this week. Can somewhat see the sense in going with Mateta over Haaland. But just be prepared for issues cropping up that mean that move becomes a hit

    Onana
    Dalot VVD Munoz
    Son Palmer Salah Saka Eze
    Darwin Solanke

Henderson Semenyo White Gabriel - 0 FT, 2.5M ITB, no chips left.

Anything worth a hit for this team? I was considering Eze to Maddison/Johnson -4.

No on Eze to Spurs and certainly not Maddison in current form.

For me, the glaringly obvious thing is the lack of Newcastle (playing SHU, BUR and then doubling) and too much Liverpool. WOuld i take a hit for that this week? Maybe not. But VVD, Salah and Darwin to Schar/Burn, Gordon and Isak are moves i'd plan in at some point soon.

What is the move here, 1FT 0.1itb (BB37):

    Petrovic - Onana
Gabriel - Van Den Ven - Gabriel - Ait Nouri - Gusto
    Salah - Son - Saka - Palmer - Garnacho
    Darwin - Isak - Haaland

Tinkering with the WC/BB backline, thoughts?

    Petrovic/Pickford
    White/Porro/Walker/Shar/Maguire

Could be tempted to go Vicario over Petrovic or Pickford, also Pickford only SGWs but next 3 looking really nice...

I'm definitely going Pickford + someone who doubles in 35 and/or 37. Defence is quite expensive - you'll be benching a £5m+ defender in 35, 36 and 38 but if it doesn't mean compromise elsewhere, then why not?

      1. Atimis
        • 7 Years
        1 month, 4 days ago

        Actually can afford that team:

        Petrovic/Pickford
        White/Porro/Walker/Shar/Maguire
        Son/Bruno/Foden/Palmer/Gordon
        Haaland/Isak/Jackson

        Jackson could be Hojlund

Really close to my draft, I think the thing for me is that I want Watkins - at this stage its either in place of Haaland (in which case I have loads of money) or Watkins (in which case I need to make some compromises).

It's tricky this week as I really have one spot left along Isak it's down to Jackson vs Hojlund vs Watkins vs Haaland and benching the other I bring along

That's what I presumed, but he's got 3 City and swapping KDB to Haaland as part of 2FT involves good luck (none of your other 13 getting injured) and a leap of faith when KDB could outscore Haaland in the double.

    9.30am - Howe, Wilder
    11.30am - Klopp
    12.45pm - Pochettino, Edwards
    1pm - Postecoglou, O'Neil
1.30pm - Guardiola, Arteta, ten Hag, Nuno, Glasner, Silva, Moyes, Iraola
    2pm - Emery

    Times in BST.

Just De Zerbi missing. No embargo section from him last night so could be a late addition to the list above or one of his Saturday specials.

Huge day of pressers. Lots of vital information to come. Howe on Trippier and will there be a backlash against Sheffield United after the Palace game. Ange on Rich and Porro. Poch on Palmer, Sanchez and Gusto. Pep on Haaland.

I know Neale will do it justice and there might even be redemption of a Shawshank proportion for FPL managers like me who are still smarting from not bringing Mateta in because Haaland was down to start in the scout predicted line ups.

The only throne I'm on is one for high profile FPL celebrities. I was 50/50 on Haaland to Mateta. The scouts predicted line up was the deciding factor for my final decision. Of course there is no admission of making any kind of mistake on scout's part even though it would have impacted thousands of Haaland owners. Don't acknowledge; never apologize; blithely move on seems to be the mantra when big team news calls with huge consequences are wrong.

You can abdicate more than just a monarchy! So you do hold FFS accountable for your decision? Brilliant. Why don’t you send them your log-in details and just log-in Monday mornings to see how “you” did. Imagine if we all just mirrored the scout squad. Sometimes, heaven forbid, we have to make a decision ourselves. You went on the scout’s word whilst many of us played the percentages. Sorry but you just gotta suck it up

it's "predicted line-ups", not "line-ups". i have no idea why they would apologize - presumably they're 'wrong' about multiple line-ups every week, especially for situations where the fixture isn't until deep into the GW. MCI played 5 days after the deadline.

i agree that your famous. perhaps not for reasons you'd appreciate but it takes all sorts.

How would you improve this lot (WC):

    Onana / (Areola)
    Porro / Gvardiol / Gusto / (Burn) / (Gabriel)
    Son / Bruno / Foden / Gordon / Palmer (C)
    Watkins / Isak / (Haaland)

Is it criminal to go no Liverpool or Arsenal attack?

Areola? I presume no BB but think there are better options if you can stretch.

Gusto is out? Check the Poch presser later.

And you've got the classic issue with all of us on WC - you are benching the two most likely CS out of your back five.

      Front eight looks good

    Hi....Anything for a hit here? Will bb37

    A.....garnacho to Bruno - 4

    B....garnacho to gordon - 4

I'd be benching hojlund or haaland depending on his injury. Thanks

    Petro (onana)
    Porro gabriel gusto (vanhecke bradley)
    Kdb son foden palmer (garnacho)
    Haaland hojlund isak

What do we expect in the united burnley game ? Burnley a couple more days rest, still a chance to stay in PL. United very hard to predict

      Goals, probably

United are scoring lots of goals, averaging 2 or 3 per game recently.
Burnley regularly concede to top half teams more so than bottom half.
I reckon 2 or 3 goals for United, and 0 or 1 for Burnley

I'm set on a -4 to bring in 3 players, but the 3rd player I can't decide between Bruno F or Gordon. The 3 transfers will be:
Darwin / Salah / Diaz to Isak / Son / Bruno or Gordon

    A) Bruno
    B) Gordon

    Current line up is:

    Dub (Hendo)
    White / Ait-N / Branthwaite (Gabriel / Gusto*)
    Saka / Garnacho / Palmer / Salah / Diaz
    Solanke / Darwin (Haaland*)

    Thanks

Tough, i've had Gordon ahead of Bruno on my WC drafts but will get both. You have Garnacho so that could be United "cover". Probably depends how well you think you can use the £2m saved on Gordon

Thanks, the extra funds will probably bring in Bruno next week for Saka. It's just which one to go with this week. I'll have Isak & Garnacho to cover both, but it's who to double up on this week

If the question which one you take this week then definitely go for Gordon, he has the best fixture in the league and is a demon at home

I know you can read 18 pters both ways but if you wanted Gordon, get Gordon - Bruno won’t do it again this week quite like that

Thanks, I want both so over the next few so it's about playing the fixture this week I guess. Utd v Burnley or NEW v SHU, I'm 100% getting Isak in, so it's either double Newcastle or double utd

NEWCASTLE | Pope, Trippier, Joelinton and Almiron are all making progress but will miss GW35.

Tino Livramento (ankle) will be assessed after training today ahead of Sheff Utd.

Wilson made his injury comeback on Wednesday but Targett's season is over.

After some thoughts on my WC team please. I plan on bench boosting GW37 and going for a differential TC on either GW36 or 38 depending on how the league table looks.

    Dubravka
Van de Ven - Gabriel - Burn
    Bruno - Son - Palmer (c) - KDB (vc) - Foden
    Isak - Jackson

Petrovic - Haaland - Branthwaite - Van Hecke
