yes but solanke plays for a much worse team and his ppm were no where near as good, Isak with a full season would/should be a premium pick over 10m really

Think this'll be the first season I start with a proper front 3. Plenty of good options at last. Most likely 3 of Haaland/Watkins/Havertz/Isak

Was looking at Havertz Watkins and Isak front 3, but id just be swapping Haaland for Salah due to captaincy. Granted a big 2.5m saving
Haaland - in it to win it matey 🙂

I don't think they need one considering how Havertz performed from GW26 onwards. Also seems like more talk of Calafiori / Merino than forwards at the moment. But if they do, easy switch to Watkins/Isak & maybe go with Ødegaard (bit wary of Saka post-Euro fatigue)

Doubt it, think that's just our Euros recency bias. Think it's a similar case to Rodri where his attacking returns picked up a bit; had more license to get forward when Partey was covering

2 FTs per week was the latest rumour. Tbh I'm not holding my breath for anything major, but I think it's more likely a change in chips/FTs/subs rather than a change in scoring

Very fair prices even without ball recoveries, he and Rodri would've been more selected last season if FPL hadn't underpriced a lot of the key Arsenal and City assets, i.e. defenders, Saka, Foden. Then you had Palmer, Gordon, Branthwaite, Mateta, Muniz, Garnacho being so cheap, which made it easier for people to punt on the more expensive Havertz, Ødegaard, Alvarez.

    4.5/4.0
    6/6/4.5/4/4
    Saka Palmer Gordon Bruno Odegaard
    Isak Watkins 4.5

meh, not a fan of this pricing at this point. can easily just be fpl top 6 again

only thing that could save it if rule change is subs during matchday meaning bench needs to be better (although wouldnt rule out increased budget if that was the case).

    1. TheBiffas
      • 5 Years

Doesn't actually look that good to me. Those with Salah or Haaland could punish

      1. F4L
        • 11 Years
        1 year, 5 months ago

its ok, having all 3 of palmer/salah/haaland won't work imo so someone will have to be left out.

it comes down to Palmer, had a ppg that rivals peak Salah and Haaland last season. if you think he can maintain or only drop 1 ppg to 7-ish he's a huge enabler for the rest of the squad as a constant reliable captaincy option so you don't have to compromise too much elsewhere

just for starting the season as well its boring but effective (all top attackers from top sides, most with either pens/set-pieces), if 5-6.5mil gems appear like Gordon/Palmer last season then great move to 2/3 premiums but its very tough to pick the right ones from the get go.

    2. F4L
      • 11 Years

*actually can see the potential of Havertz TAA Mitchell Munoz (both 5) over Odegaard 6/6/4.5. Easiest set and forget team

fair point, just have to roll the dice more often, but Watkins/Isak/Bruno/Saka/Palmer, 5 of the best teams (4 pen takers, maybe even 5) feel like captaincy shouldn't go too wrong just playing the fixtures

I'm probably not going to pick Haaland and Salah either, but...

      No Manchester City attackers?
Two Newcastle attackers, with their away performances?

      1. F4L
        • 11 Years
        1 year, 5 months ago

yeah fair points. you can't have them all though. its mainly just frustration at the fact a team like that is affordable off the rip, arguably every mid/attacker should be 0.5-1 mil more

for City attack need to see Foden's price otherwise not much interest atm. Extended CL could hurt minutes as well for City assets

im not going to judge Newcastle too much on last season, they were ravaged with injuries/suspensions/CL gametime very quickly and struggled to recover. What matters imo is Gordon and Isak put lots of good performances in and from end of Januray onwards away from was decent enough (20 goals in last 9 away matches).

Similar to points above, Triple Newcastle is too much with their poor away record. No Arsenal or City attacking coverage, the 2 teams I expect will score the most goals. Are Bailey and Watkins combined in GW2 going to outscore what just one of Foden or Haaland could net that week?

Too cheap by 0.5m for Foden and Gvardiol.

I'm gonna have both for sure.

I don't think so, there's a reason they are revealing prices quickly today

We know because it said that they would keep price reveals going until Tuesday. Also, before the game launches it goes down and is 'updating'.

They will want to launch the game during working hours in case something goes amiss. I'd say tomorrow at 3 or 4p is a good bet. It might not even be tomorrow. Could be early Wednesday.

I think they might release it very soon, next couple of hours hopefully.

So only 3 players in the entire game are going to be over 10 million.

They might as well just get rid of the budget feature.

      Saka
      Son
      Palmer
      Salah
      Haaland

      5 no?

        Saka is 10 million.

10 million is not over 10 million.

Team is basically set now I suppose. Kamada the only punt depending on how preseason goes. Munoz will likely be 5m max.

    4.5 4.0
    Trent Trippier Gvardiol Munoz 4.0
    Salah Palmer Foden Kamada
    Isak Havertz 4.5

I like it, but is Kamada really good enough as a week-in week-out starter? You're pretty much resigned to playing 442

Palace have good fixtures for some time tbf. I'll only get him if he's playing in Olises role in preseason. Otherwise I think I'll go with CHO.

Wow people ballsy going without Haaland

15m ruins the rest of the team. If Cold Palmer shows up this year again it won't matter anyways.

      So a quick comparison

      A) Haaland, Pedro, Nkunku
      B) Watkins, Isak, Foden

Think i'll start with something like this

    4.5 - 4.0

    Saliba - Burn - Konsa - 4.0 - 4.0

    Salah - Saka - Palmer - Kudus - 4.5

    Watkins - Isak - Muniz

time to scratch around for bargains... Salah is mot the player he once was and Haaland is an injury risk nowdays.

Will Burn be nailed with everyone fit at Newcastle?

Premierinjuries has Botman out until January. If that's the case Burn would become a very interesting prospect ..
