Any Saints supporters out there want to weigh in on Carlos Alcaraz? Looks like he might be a decent enabler . . . have I been seduced by a series of highlight videos on YouTube?

Good player. Poor attitude at times. Had the odd good run but will not be nailed on.

With Raya you don't need a 4.5 keeper. Go for the least wanted 4m keeper that plays for a sht team

You know I’m sure years ago there used to be like 4 or 5 Hot Topics a day that represented all the chat. It’s like no one can be bothered to hot topic anything anymore. Such a great feature that’s been ignored.

Six of the ten most recent hot topics were hulked by myself, including one of your own.
I can't remember whether I hulked that one after it was flagged to us or whether I just spotted it myself, but it was such an obvious hot topic candidate that it would probably have been hulked by another mod anyway if I hadn't got there first.

If more comments of that quality about subjects that are likely to generate (or already generating) interesting discussions and gather upvotes are flagged to us, then they will probably become hot topics too. We always look at comments that are
flagged to us as potential hot topics, but not all of them are that as good candidates as that one.

Haaland or No Haaland was clearly a major topic for discussion, but which others have we missed recently?

I'm still on the lookout. Hulked the City news post yesterday but didn't link it to HTs since we had a follow up article & the discussion got very spread out very quickly.

Only saw one request of yours (or anyone else) that you made on Saturday night when I wasn't online. That was the only one flagged for HT all week.

Maybe just temper your expectations of the rate of change a little? I am human after all, with a need for sleep & paid work (you know this is purely voluntary, right?), and a house that is literally falling apart at the moment.

I do have some ideas for setting up more in depth discussion of new tactics, new players etc once we get closer to the start of the season, at which point I'll start watching some friendlies and get more serious about sorting out my team, but at the moment while it's still fairly quiet on the news front I'm still in FPL-lite mode tbh and trying to get a few others things done first.

    Thoughts on this draft folks

    Turner (4.0)

    Haaland Watkins gakpo

You don’t have a starting GK. NFO will play Sels or Miguel. Go for the 4.5 options from CPL, Eve, AVL, Newcastle over most of that def.
Colwill not assured of starts either.
      Midfield looks decent!
Strikers great if Gakpo plays, but outside Salah the liv attackers are up in the air for minutes (Gakpo, Jota, Diaz, Luiz all battling for 2 spots).

Too many question marks for me.

I have a Haaland draft and a more balanced one. Which team scores more points?

    Draft with Haaland and Salah:
    Flekken / 4.0
Muñoz, Mykolenko, VdV / Konsa, Barco
    Salah, Palmer, Eze, CHO, Rogers
    Haaland, Watkins / 4.5

    No Haaland draft:
    Flekken / 4.0
Porro, Hall, Konsa / Robinson, Barco
    Salah, Palmer, Foden, Gordon, Eze
    Watkins, Havertz / 4.5

Thoughts on this Haaland and Salah draft? 3-4-3

    Miguel
    Trent / Gvardiol / Mykolenko / Anderson / Barco
    Salah / Eze / Gibbs-White / Pereira / Rodgers
    Haaland / Isak / Armstrong

This was my previous no Haaland Draft which I've been settled on but I'm getting twitchy that I need the Blond Destroyer, also 3-4-3

    Miguel
    Trent / Gvardiol / Mykolenko / Anderson / Barco
    Salah / Palmer / Eze / Hudson-Odoi / Winks
    Haaland / Isak / Watkins

Which one gets the least love?

Merely an observation I guess. Depends.of a stronger midfield is better than starting with Haaland. I'm not convinced all the big hitters like Foden, Saka and Palmer get full minutes in the first few weeks.

    Pick one of each…

    4.5m GK
    A. Flekken
    B. Henderson
    C. Sánchez

    4.5m DF
    D. Andersen
    E. Konsa
    F. Colwill
    G. Mykolenko

    6.5 MF
    H. Szoboszlai
    I. Bailey
    J. Johnson

    Rest of the team:
    ___ // 4.0
Gvardiol Gabriel Burn // ___ Faes
Salah Gordon Nkunku ____ // Winks
    Haaland Isak Pedro

    1. TheBiffas
      • 5 Years

With the keepers it depends if we find out who is first choice from Chelsea / Palace. Sanchez if he's no.1, Henderson if Sanchez isn't, Flekken if neither are. Then I'd go Mykolenko from the defenders and Johnson from the mids

Hopefully he can get past his injury woes. He has been the main driver behind this move and he wants to play regular football. Pretty admirable that he moves from Arsenal to a club like Fulham. Most footballers these days would be happy to rot away and collect a paycheck.

If he stays injury free, I have no doubt he will be one of the players of the season.

BB GW2 if Bobb likely to start, as assumed thus far.

    Pope
    Gabriel Munoz Mitchell
    Palmer Gordon Nkunku Madueke
    Haaland Isak Muniz

    Steele/Verbruggen Bobb Castagne Robinson

Double Palace defence, triple Chelsea mid is bold.

      Either top 100 or 9000000th.

3 Chelsea mid with city first game as well. Slightly mental.

3 Chelsea in general is madness imo. New manager, don’t know how they will perform and might take awhile to get going. Don’t normally read too much into pre season but Chelsea not doing great and Wolves doing good

      - not clear on how Timber and Calafiori fit in the Arsenal defence
      - Madueke linked with a move away

If IPS was Haaland’s GW1 fixture, how high do you think his ownership would be?

I don't often give out tips for Fred but when I do they're absolute belters...

Get Emile Smith-Rowe in now before they move him to Fulhams squad so that you can have 4 Fulham players come the start of the season

I went from a no Salah + Haaland team >> Salah team >> Salah + Haaland team >> Haaland team. Which of the last two do you prefer?

GK and defense are the same:
    Miguel 4.0
    Gvardiol Andersen Mykolenko Konsa Bellis

    A)
    Saka Gordon Eze Nkunku CHO
    Haaland Isak Darwin/Gakpo

    B)
    Salah Odegaard Eze Andreas Roger
    Haaland Isak Wood

      A. But would probably drop Haaland.

    Anything need changing here?

    Pickford Virginia
    Gvardiol Saliba Porro Burn Anderson
    Salah Palmer Gordon Eze Rogers
    Watkins Isak 4.5

    1. polis
      • 14 Years

I'm into it if you think Salah goes large.

Salah to Saka/Son affords upgrading the 4.5 forward, Rogers, or both.

Agree with Polis but Salah isn't the problem. You've too much at the back (and in goal). Simplest improvement, downgrade one of the 6m defs then bump the 4.5m forward up to Muniz or Wood.

Unsure if Foden rested first / second games of season
    please choose one

    A)
    Haaland, Joao Pedro, Bernardo

    B)
    Isak, Watkins, Foden

    1. David Parkinson
      • 3 Years

Even with the Foden doubts, you're not making a strong case for A.

        Thanks David,

I was thinking Haaland at first as Chelsea defence leaking goals for fun
then Ipswich with cover in midfield if Foden not starting with Bernardo for these
        fixtures

From Haaland + Salah to not having any of them, but I like this midfield:

    Flekken / 4.5
Muñoz, Konsa, Hall / Robinson, Barco
    Saka, Son, Foden, Palmer, Eze
    Watkins, Isak

    B) Andersen, Son, J.Pedro

      A. Ode over Bruno if you don't have Arsenal.

    Salah Eze Nkunku CHO
    Haaland Watkins Isak

    4.0GK THB Barco Winks
    0.0 itb

    Thoughts?
