Our 2024/25 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) team previews continue with Spurs.

The Lilywhites are one of only six sides to have competed in every campaign of the Premier League. 2024/25 is their second season under the management of Ange Postecoglou.

In these team guides, we’ll be looking at the best players from each club for the upcoming campaign. We’ll also take a stab at predicted line-ups for Gameweek 1, review pre-season and more.

The data and graphics in this article come from either our Premium Members Area or Statsbomb, with whom we are partnering in 2024/25.

Fantasy managers can get access to the wealth of Statsbomb numbers, as well as the usual Opta stats, exclusive articles, transfer planner, tools and app, with a 40% discounted Premium Membership today.

SPURS: REASONS TO BE CHEERFUL

Spurs finished the league in fifth last season. They were also fifth for goals scored with 70, despite losing Harry Kane the day the Premier League season started and not signing a direct replacement.

The side from north London also had decent, if not league-leading, underlying numbers. Spurs were sixth best for expected goals conceded (xGC) and seventh for expected goals (xG)

The free-flowing attacking football that ‘Ange ball’ brings is definitely a reason to be cheerful. Spurs’ underlying attacking stats look promising, especially with the added goal threat of new signing Dominic Solanke (£7.5m):

FPL 2024/25 team previews: Spurs – Best players, predicted line-up + more

Solanke scored 19 goals for Bournemouth in the Premier League last season. The forward netted these from the 414 chances that Bournemouth created, the ninth-highest tally in the league. Spurs on the other hand created 460 opportunities, the fourth best in the division, up from 386 in 2022/23.

Landed on this for now. Attacking GWs. Thoughts?

    Raya
    TAA, Gvardiol, Porro
    Saka, Jota, Diaz, Fernandes
    Isak, Havertz, Solanke
    Subs: 4.0, Bobb, Barca, Harwood

    1.5m ITB for early plans:
    GW2 Saka -> Foden/KDB (Saka will come back GW6)
    GW3 Bobb/Diaz/Jota-> Nkunku
    GW4 Isak/Solanke -> Watkins

my thoughts - either Salah or Haaland brace will definitely hurt your rank

but if both blank, you will be in top 25k

Hate the idea of booked transfers when it's unclear beyond GW1, end up being behind the ideal team (injuries/suspension/bandwagons)

The team feels like .most others but who have Salah or Haaland. Looks like you're backing Fernandes, Diaz or Havertz to score more than those two?

      They might of course.

I like this team. Would go for something very similar, if I went without Salah and Haaland.

    Bottomed

    RMT:

    Hendo (Turner)
    Saliba, Porro, Hall, (Barco, Harwood-Bellis)
    Salah, Gordon, Nkunku, ESR (Winks)
    Haaland, isak, Solanke

    Too top heavy?

Too expensive to do with Salah and Haaland, expecting them to start strong

    Hendo
    Gvardiol, Porto, Munoz
    Saka, Jota, Eze, Johnson
    Haaland, Isak (C), Solanke

    4.0; Barco, Robinson, Winks.

Happy with this now, staying away from Chelsea as someone who watched Maresca every game of last season… Nkunku may still be worth it but it’s wait and see for me, can see it going sour there.

Todays Draft (which will change tomorrow ... probably)

    Areola / Fabianski
    Mykolenko / Van de Ven / Hall / Quansah / Harwood-Bellis
    Son / Saka / Szoboszlai / Nkuknku / Smith-Rowe
    Haaland / Isak / Solanke

343 (433 and 352 might work, but 442 sticks too much money on the bench)

    Stick or twist?

2nd half of last season both Muniz & Eze had better underlying stats than Solanke.

"Spurs play attacking football" isn't a lot to go on.

2nd half the season, Eze & Muniz both had better xGI than Son.

          More, look at TOT vs.
FUL & CRY early fixtures. Spurs have it rough in comparison. (Eve, New, & Ars in their first 4.)

IMO Solanke will get 20+ goals but, I'd prefer to pick him up later on.

Think you are right, get this every year, the brand new transfer and suddenly everyone wants the shining new thing.

Don’t get me wrong solanke a good option and so is ESR. But I think their popularity is inflated because they are new transfers.

First 5GWs could Iwobi outscore ESR, quite possibly. Their ownerships will be drastically different

Muniz plays Lei, Ips, & Whu in his first 4GWs.

vs. Solanke who's got Eve, New, & Ars..

Set & forget I think it's Solanke. But, short term I want Muniz.

Any thoughts about this Salah-less team?

    Henderson, 4.0
    Gvardiol, Andersen, Mykolenko, Robinson, Burn
    Son, Eze, Gordon, Nkunku, ESR
    Haaland, Isak, Solanke

Without Salah is of course risky but otherwise i feel pretty good about the squad but with some headache of choosing..

    Henderson or Sels/Areola?
    Burn could be Hall/Konsa/Barco/Milenkovic?
    ESR or CHO/Minteh?
    Son or Saka?
Downgrading Gvardiol to a 4.5 def and upgrade someone in mid?

  17. _Freddo

    Thoughts on this please?

    Think I love this

    Raya
    Trent Gvadiol Porro
    Saka Jota Smith Rowe Bobb
    Haaland Isak Solanke

    Fabianski Barco Winks H Bells.

.5m in the bank to turn Bobb into Minteh.

I’ve basically sacrificed Gordon for Trent.

Think it’s worth it? Saka, Jota & Smith Rowe were going to be 3 of my 4 mids from GW2 so it’s just Bobb who’s the really cheap punt but I have a plan for him if it goes pear shaped.

The way I see it, I’m certain he starts GW1, he’s in because I think he’ll score points, if he plays well & scores points, Pep will give him the Ipswich game because he doesn’t need to rush key men back for that with them being at home.

He’s in because I think he’ll score points.

That .5 could pad out the bench to cover when he does lose his place, Bells could easily be Robinson, plan to WC when the late international players like Foden and Watkins are back in the groove.

Tempted by Gabriel and Saliba for Raya, yes, been going back and forth with that all week, would mean Pope would be the keeper but the Raya move gives me a bit more funds to play with.

Raya & Porro has been flipping to Pope and Saliba so it’s possible for sure.

When I look at it on paper, Porro is the one player I don’t like in there, he may not make the cut, I don’t think they keep any CS tbf

He was always in because I couldn’t find a way to get Trent back in.

In a similar predicament shooting between Raya, Hall, Trent and Pope, Gvardial, Gabriel

I would say porro and Gabriel/Saliba likely a similar GW1 score. If one was to go crazy it would be porro

I’ve changed it back (Thanks Tony mate)

            Team is now

            Pope
            Trent Gvadiol Saliba
            Saka, Jota, Smith Rowe, Bobb
            Haaland, Isak, Solanke

.5m in the bank and same bench.

That does look and feel better.

The only thing worse than Spurs defence right now is Leicester's attack so think even Porro could get a CS in GW1 and after that I am just pretending he is a extra 5.5 mid that gets 6pts for a goal

It’s Newcastle v Spurs defence really isn’t it, which one would you rather cover?

Southampton home is similar to Leicester away.

Porro feels like he could have a big score in him but I just don’t like their defence.

Think Southampton will concede more and score more than Leicester this season so for GW1 I prefer Porro over Newcastle defense and Isak(c) with Gordon/Murphy but after that Newcastle def is much better so pretty even tbf

    Gvardiol, Hall, Saliba
    Salah, Saka, Jota, CHO, Son
    Isak (C), Solanke

No idea Freddo, he is one that is in the balance for sure. Seemed to rotate well with Myk for the first few weeks.

Could go with a palace defender instead?

I’d rather have him than Porro myself but I’m unsure how long he’d be in for, what’s his competition there?

Jota for the start. I feel like he is amazing value when fit. Goal machine. Sell him for Gordon when he gets injured.

    B) Son, Jota, Havertz

    Wouldn’t be captaining Salah btw

People trying to 'cover' Salah, get Pool coverage and spend the cash elsewhere. It's a risk.

    A) ESR
    B) Minteh

not clearly. Havertz is more aligned to Arsenal and the way they play and has played well in euro's and pre-season. Solanke whilst good on paper has a poor scoring record apart from last season. Jury is out on him for me but potentially will get chances as spurs go gung ho

      No, but there is potential

Son would be in my team as a non negotiable however he’ll be moved to the left

      Spurs will score goals

Havertz will suffer as a result of his reclassification and may still play in midfield

Easily B, both in B have the potential to explode, Salah is doing a lot of heavy lifting in A.

Salah fear is because historically he’s been the highest owned most captained player, remains to be seen if that’s the case this year, don’t think it will be.
