Luke Shaw will miss the opening games of the Premier League season due to a calf injury sustained at the start of pre-season training.

He is working hard on his rehabilitation with a view to being available after the first international break.

Luke Shaw injured again. Biggest waste of space in football. Might make Mazraoui worth a punt for those who are that way inclined.

Yeah was just reading about this on X and MU forum... almost as worse as Phil Jones atm. So fcking annoying, another season without a proper LB it seems -_-.

But yeah Mazraoui or Amas even, has to play there now, neither ideal imo.

Jota is Liverpool’s starting striker and has on paper one of the easiest first 5 or so games. Nkunku also has good games but Chelsea are all over the place, regardless of his pre season. Both good picks, but it’s Jota all day long for now if it’s one or the other. Although having Rogers over a 4.5 is the obvious pro to option B.

Wes Foderingham - I know he was at Sheff Utd last year, but I'm thinking he was bought more for the "third choice homegrown goalkeeper" option than a viable starter.
Then again, Fab is 39, so may be glad of the rest.

(I've gone Areola / Fab - I honestly feel Brentford will struggle this year and Flek / Vlad will be bombarded)

Do you think Foden or Son scores more points this season?

I liked Foden more than Son, not even considering price, when the game came out but am wondering how the Solanke signing will affect him. I think it's a positive as he gets others more involved and is quite selfless.

I'm interested in general outlook of them, not taking into account fixtures and form. People often overreact if players score or don't score, so think it might be better to get an unbiased opinion before the start of the season

Son to outscore Foden and maybe Solanke. Son to be golden boot contender.

Think Solanke will have a similar effect on Son like Kane had. Son is best playing off a central striker. Won’t be surprised if Solanke gets in with lots of assists while Son just buries goal after goal with his pin point accuracy.

      1. Bad Kompany
        • 7 Years

Cheers! Does Solanke drop deep like Kane did? I know he isn't Kane, but I felt like Richarlison used to just hog the middle, taking away chances and space from Son

He did have a few bursting runs down the right tho with some dangerous whipped in crosses. He’s also on set pieces obvs and our new red arrow corner technique will cause havoc I reckon, so I still think he’ll be very reliable for assists.

        1. Thanos

Basically all the players stand at the edge of the box together, then charge in a split second before the cross. Didn’t pay off against Sevilla, but I can see the pure unpredictability of it causing havoc against a lot of teams.

    Henderson Valdimarsson
    TAA Munoz ARobinson Barco Johnson

    A. Munoz to 4,5m
    B. 3-5-2 with Nkunku instead of Solanke. Plus 1xtra million. Would allow Gordon to Bruno eg.

Spreading funds across teams is a bit of a fallacy. You just pick the best players in their respective positions. Does Isak suddenly make Gordon a worst pick?

      Havertz saka
      Salah jota
      Son solanke
      Haaland foden

One doesn’t decrease the others appeal in my eyes

I could be maté definitely, just difficult in my team to get both coz I’ve got Saka and Haaland too

Yeah, that’s why I’ve gone Salah over Haaland which allows me to make great use of that additional £2.5 mil.

I think the question is not who you want to pick. Rather it is who you are comfortable leaving out. Great pricing this season!

Ah have you mate; I was on Salah with no haaland for age then I went to have both of them and no I’m just Haaland. They have done a great job pricing this year definitely. It’s made it so much more exciting again!!

Ha! I’ve gone the other way. So sure to get a Sal-Haa team but now firmly on no Haaland. I’m even thinking of going with Foden from the off, bench for GW1 and possible captain for GW2. Late call on that one though.

Haha yeah I went the other way!! Ooh that’s a good idea about foden mate!!! I like that idea

I know Foden is already back in training. My only concern is Pep roulette and I’ll have to sacrifice Son for Foden. Although, I still have Solanke and Porro so that could do fine. But Spurs against Leicester is such a tasty fixture. Maybe even do GW2 transfer. Lots of thinking!

Haha yeah want never fully guess pep Thars for sure mate!! Son away to Leicester and home to Everton is super tasty!!! I’d go for that!!! Lots of tinkering and thinking still to go!!! Best of luck this season mate!! Hope it’s a good one for ya!!

As above Son for me but either a good shout Rice takes great corners so a little less set pieces for Saka

got both because it’s hard to decide, could get one and then Solanke/Havertz uptop if you fancy it

misread the 2nd part but point kind of stands, Son first 2 and Saka long term probably

Clinging to that belief - the first name I put in the team, and never left any draft.
(then again, I was on Nunez for a while convinced he's on for a good season, so make of that judgement what you will)

If he stay fit, Jurriën Timber

    Anyone going with no Haaland?

Team balance is so much better without him, however he could easily get back to back hat-tricks against Che & Ips

    Haaland Isak Solanke

    Feels like I’m almost done…

    Pickford & Virginia
    TAA, Saliba, Porro, Barco, Harwood-B
    Saka, Jota, Gordon, ESR, Rogers
    Haaland, Isak, Pedro

Any tweaks (nothing as drastic as Shaw’s calf please)

From one injury prone LB to another...

Ben Chilwell is now assessing his options, with Chelsea unlikely to stand in his way if they receive a suitable offer this summer.

Manchester United are one club to have shown an interest.

"Ferdi Kadıoğlu to Brighton is done. He will transfer to the Premier League club for a record fee"

Barco not so nailed anymore... but on another side, Ferdi is such an attacking LB and also has goals in him(can play as LW/RW and even CAM).

Might not necessarily be at LB. Played in multiple positions with a lot of apps in each position

His main position is LB, he has played "everywhere" becuase he can and that's where he's been needed. And also early in career he and his old club didn't know what his main position was, so they played him wherever. Before realising that he is a LB.

With so many new signings and really good ones across teams, I would be good to keep your WCs firmly in the pocket to see how the first XI shape up.
