      Not bad. I personally am not a fan of Barco, Eze and Murphy though. I think there's better value elsewhere.

      I grappled with that decision all of yesterday and concluded Haaland + 5.5m.

      The GW2 captaincy is too strong not to go for. There are also lots of exciting 5.5m mids to pick from. Doesn't have to be template ESR, can go Murphy, Kamada, CHO, Minteh.

    G'day! I'm currently flirting with the following:

    Pope
    Quansah - Mykolenko - Konsa - Harwood-Bellis - Andersen
    Gordon - Saka - Son - Jota - Palmer
    Solanke - Isak - Watkins

    Any glaring problems? I am aware of the defense being weak, but I have concluded that I'm terrible at predicting it so I'll just upgrade when the season starts. Midfield might seem like an overkill, but I predict I'll drop Jota sooner rather than later. I don't want to start Palmer GW1 and won't start Gordon GW2 so I think it'll work out alright.

      Can see why you've taken this approach and potentially is worth the gamble - but I think a lot depends on Watkins.

      Given his lack of pre-season involvement i'm not convinced he'll start or if he does, that he'll be at 100%. I also don't see him doing as well as last season, especially with Villa in the CL as well.

      Watkins is a good point and admittedly a risk as well. I honestly got him in at the last moment when I opted for Jota instead of Darwin. With that said, I don't mind this risk and am happy to downgrade if it comes to that. Like I said, I'm going to have to upgrade the defense (and indeed Salah or Haaland) anyway.

    Is it madness to go void in Haaland first week and bench boost?
    With the high value players so expensive fielding 15 players be hard / require compromise mid season to sort out whereas i can just joink it now and wildcard early.

    Benchboost team would look like this.

      Also going Bench Boost but not starting with Haaland and spreading funds around the team instead.
      Depends when you plan to WC but Gordon to Murphy and TAA to another Liverpool defender could get you some extra funds to even out your squad.

      Faes v Spurs, Nkunku v City, ESR v United and Flekken v Palace is essentially what you are bench boosting.

        Happy with the BB fixtures though, other than Faes v Spurs but never going to get an ideal fixture for a £4m starting defender I guess.

        No concrete plans re WC yet, will see how season starts.

        Those changes would get extra funds, but personally don't see it would get me extra points. Fully expect Gordon to massively outscore Murphy (who's also much more of a rotation risk than Gordon).
