    Brereton Diaz or ESR?

ESR should be a fun watch with his fixtures. Cross your fingers that he gets the minutes though.

Think ESR is being a bit hyped by Arsenal fans thinking they let go of a gem. I can see him doing ok this season but think you could use funds better.

Díaz could be the answer in that price range but I’d need to see more of him before I’d commit.

Who is the best 4,5 defender to own long term from Villa, and who from Brighton, and Everton?

      Konsa, Dunk and don’t

Thanks. Do you know if Mykolenko is nailed? Long term I see Everton keep clean sheets, with their defenders back from injury.

Mkylolenko is probably safe at LB

Still early days but I'd go with: Cash, Dunk, Myko

Was at the Chelsea game last night. Despite winning and scoring the penalty Nkunku was poor yesterday but the early sub probably means he safe to start on Sunday.

    Bernardo or Doku?

Good differential with Doku, Bernardo the 'safer' choice.

Think Doku has a higher ceiling this week but Bernardo is probably a safe long term pick.

Bernardo is the preferred option. Doku more likely to collect 2 pointers and then come up with a mammoth score, it could be tomorrow or months down the line.

    Henderson

    Bentley/Murphy/Konsa/Johnson

Seriously thinking of using the triple captain. For the last five years I’ve waited for double game weeks only to be disappointed by the returns. This is a fully fit Manchester City against a brand-new team, they’ll play their best players and really push for a strong result to set the tone for the season. Anyone else thinking the same?

    1. SouthCoastSaint
      • 14 Years

I don’t own but think it’s risky. Remember haaland playing Bournemouth last or season before at same stage expecting to haul and only got an assist

Yeah it’s one of those isn’t it? But he’s had a full pre season and a summer break, the one thing currently stopping me is that Ipswich will be well up for this game given it’s so early in the season. Mind you, it’s City’s first home game.

        Decisions decisions

In all honesty, this looks on paper to be the best fixture of the season to play the TC chip.

Ipswich will take a month or so to get used to the step up and City playing their first home game of the season should be in rampant mood.

Usually, the best TC chip plays are early in the season when a particular team or teams are clearly not ready, have a poor manager and are leaking goals for fun.

The one caveat is that it’s only been one game so we don’t know yet if this applies to Ipswich. But City should get a hatful of goals tomorrow for sure and Haaland surely has to be among the scorers!

      Is it fully fit City?

      - no Rodri
      - Foden played 45 mins since coming back from holiday
      - Pep stated expect a slow start due to players coming back late

      1. Count of Monte Hristo
        • 12 Years

City will have possession of the ball the whole game and I think Kovacic, KDB, Bernardo (Gundogan) will have all the time in the world to dictate things from central areas. For me it’s less about no Rodri and more about how aggressively they attack Ipswich, whether they are content with a 2-0 or they really want to get their goal difference up early. I think Doku, Foden, Haaland need to be really at it to determine the final score.

Do people think Bilva plays just off Haaland again?

You’d imagine Ipswich will set up in low block and try to hit on counter like most

I expect Doku/Grealish and Savinho/Foden to play the WF spots

Ipswich could put 11 men plus all their bench on the pitch and behind the ball, but I don’t think it will affect the outcome.
