Would you start Joao Pedro (MU) over Nkunku (wol) ?

I doubt Nkunku starts, but start him just in case. Mainly because the United defence seems to be heading in the direction it was two seasons ago "at this moment"

Personally I would wildcard just to get rid of Nkunku! Plus I think there are better options than Pedro.

I'd be shocked if Nkunku doesn't start.

To begin with, he's racked up the most amount of minutes in pre-season and started both competitive games so far. He's therefore much further ahead than most in terms of match fitness.

Also showing plenty of good moments in a side that obviously isn't up to full speed yet, including another penalty converted after being brought down by the Keeper last night

The early substitution would also suggest he was being protected for Sunday.

        I think I've made my point 🙂

Came back to score in this fixture last season, after his first return from injury - Some would just assume I'm biased but I wouldn't bet against him getting a return.

Go NK. Bad pick I think though. Either he gets many minutes and becomes an overnight star.

Or more likely he keeps the bench warm.

I already have all three in my team. Just more about deciding who should start.
I have Muniz, TAA and Saliba
I'm torn between Robinson and Pereira, but having three Fulham players feels like too much of a gamble

    Bottomed. Sorry.

I've tried umpteen times to create a half decent team with Mo and Haaland. Wasn't happening. One with just Mo was easy.

    But I wanted Haaland.

And finally thanks to @KnightsTemplar I GOT IT!

What you reckon? PS, I'm ok without spurs right now. Son looked S&^T>

    Pope.
    Gvard. Trent. Maz.
    Eze. Saka. Doku. Jota
    Haaland. Issak. Muniz.

YES! Any changes. Thanks gurus of the game

Are you saying this is meant to be a Haaland + Salah team? I don't see the latter in there.

Rest of it looks OK. I'd be worried longer term about rotation for Jota, Doku, Maz

No. Sorry, writing 100mph I never phrased it right. A MO only team looked BEAUTIFUL. A HAALAND only a bit tougher - my best shot. Of course they get rotated dude, I ain't God. This is best I could come up with all week. WC BTW

My point is, being a deity or not, if I use my WC I want to be fairly sure my team is set up for a long run.

Although with saving the FTs this year it'll be easier to have a plan to move from Jota & Doku if they lose their places.

Don't like the Maz pick in general - Man U defence isn't proven yet and seems like chasing GW1 points.

Not a guru more of a grump. But I like it can see the logic in the picks. Doku a good short term move with Ipswich next, but plenty of alternatives to move to.

The only two I don't like are the Man United fella, mainly because of fixtures, and Pope because of fixtures and Schar suspended.

I would go all in on Fulham getting Leno and Robinson instead, nice fixtures (save points) plus signing Anderson at CB.

You can create a 3/4 decent draft with Haaland and Salah

      Henderson
Robinson. Maz. Livra (Could go rico lewis as a punt)
Salah. Saka. Jota (could be any mid range MF). Minteh
      Haaland. Isak. Muniz

Bench: Matthews. Rogers and 2 playing 4 mil defenders

100%. Two extra rounds in CL groups too so prob more rotation. Even having 3 of 4 FT in the bank gives you a bit of flexibility with transfers. Can make 1 or 2 FT and top up FT the following GWs. Plus the FT tally doesn't get zeroed after a chip is played. Could be useful around BB and BGWs rather than hitting a wildcard.

It’s a punt.. Depending on how they do this week I’d be quite happy to split next week and play Greaves over Robinson if needed.

Could try and find the 0.5 for Raya but think I can punt Fulham over the next 4-5 fixtures with little issue. That’s the thinking at least 🙂

Greaves looked v good v Liverpool btw - would be my 4m defender if didnt have Davies already.

Wonder whether Rogers will last test of time

and agree - if you're going Leno (playing every week), i'd replace Robinson

Yeah I was impressed with Greaves! Has some nice fixtures coming up so wouldn’t be against the possibility of starting him over Robinson.

Very similar line of thinking to my wildcard -

Except I wanted a piece of the Arsenal defence - 1.5m itb

      Raya (4.0)
      --
      TAA- Akanji-Robinson (THB-Pau)
      --
      Jota-Andreas-Eze-Foden (Rogers)
      --
      Muniz - Havertz - Haaland

      --
I think your team beats mine gw2. As a matter of interest why did you go KDB > Foden? I would have thought Foden was the better long term pick?

      1. GoonerByron
        • 14 Years

Was encouraged by KDB playing in the #10 and getting 90 mins last GW. Feel hes a good punt few people will have.

Foden still not 100% to start imo. Would want to see starts and some form from him after a shocking Euros.

        1. Wrong Captain Choice - Ag i…
          • 16 Years
          1 year, 3 months ago

I was thinking that Foden likely starter after 45 minutes the last day.
It is funny you mention the Euros, because a lot of my basis for not picking KDB was he looked "gone" in the Euros. Whereas my view on Foden is that England misused him. Not playing him in favoured position etc.

One of us are going to be right anyway!
Hopefully both because I will have three city and Haaland captain.
If KDB plays well means more chances.

"Fears are circling on social media over a possible injury to striker Dominic Solanke after the striker was not pictured in training footage released by the club on Thursday.
There have been no reports of any substance to validate these claims and Ange Postecoglou will give an update on team news at his pre-match press conference at 1pm on Friday, August 23."

"Pedro Porro scored Spurs' first goal of the season, nodding home a deft header from a James Maddison cross, but had to be forced off in the second half against Leicester.
The right-back was clearly playing through a painful knock for a number of minutes before being replaced by Djed Spence.
However, Porro was spotted in training with Spurs on Thursday and is considered in contention to face Everton."

Quansah injured on Tues and will to train today. Not looking good for a start this weekend. Tough one for folks that held after the price drop.

Will we see another price drop?
Not sure as there's limited options with him down to 4.4m:

    B) Tete + £1.0m itb

Pretty bold to wildcard after scoring 84.

New team looks good though. Go for Palmer.

Yeah sometimes it can backfire but i went with a decent team thinking of starting off well in gw1 which i did. So after watching most of the games in gw1, i feel like this new team will be better off going forward.

Consensus seems to be that Nkunku won't start this weekend - why's that? Had a full / decent pre-season, only played 57 mins vs City, and 58 mins last night (having scored). Just due to number of alternatives, or something else (injured)?

Sort of want to keep him given Chels fixtures and advanced role, but patience likely to be thin given competition for his spot etc - and i don't have much of a bench if he doesnt play....

Szoboszlai was my first thought having watched him live last weekend (and cos i don't have Salah!), so wonder whether just do it now?

Sensible: he's had one game, vs City, and got decent minutes in his legs midweek. Hold and reassess later.

Actual opinion: just a bad pick. Sell for Garnacho.

I think it is too early to know to what extent he is a starter risk, but then again that is no different to when people selected him in the first place.

Don't get rid of Isak. Top player. Newcastle were down to 10 men.

Oh great, as if Pickford/Virginia pick wasn't shaky enough they've gone & bought Begovic too. Someone tell Dyche that his problems are in front of the keeper & pull his finger out.

I hate it if Solanke is out. Just as I was happy that I can just save the ft and be one step closer of my first 3fts in bank. Also of course, a really good fixture missed against injury ridden Everton.

Hopefully we get good news today from Ange.

Some rumours about Palmer picking light injury, which totaly interupt my team with Solanke, Milenkovic and Barco

If Solanke is confirmed out, best option? I like Havertz, but tricky upcoming fixtures.

    A) Solanke -> Muniz
    B) Gordon, Solanke -> ESR, Watkins (-4)
    C) Gabriel, Solanke -> Robinson, Watkins (-4)

    Hendo
    Trent, Porro, Gabriel*
    Salah, Saka, Eze, Jota, Gordon*
    Isak, Solanke*

    Fabs, Jebbison, Barco, Johnson
    Bank 0.0m

I'd get Havertz if you can afford him (he rose last night though which has priced me out of the move).
