Looks like a Form vs Fixtures argument

It could go either way, tbh. I'm the type to back the fixtures and say yes to the move, but wait for all GW3 pressers first

Yup! Hence my wait for GW5, when they'll resume facing some more of the poor defences

The worse attacks than Spurs don't do so well even facing such bad defences

Madders looks so off it in preseason that there were calls/expectations for Bergvall to start ahead of him

    My bench is now

    Mathews
    Quansah
    Jebbison
    Hall
    Faes
    Kamada

Faes/Hall can play enough, but probably time to admit Kamada has not worked and switch to Rogers unless something changes today.

Dont see any clarity on premiums so will stick with Salah and Haaland

    1. Ze_Austin
      • 7 Years
      1 year, 3 months ago

Kamada's benching was a surprise, yeah

Rogers in could be gold. Let's see what happens with Quansah, although I'd be tempted (if you've got 2 FTs) to dump him too and cut losses, maybe for Aina at the same price

      1. Ginkapo FPL
        • 14 Years

Aina is just points chasing. No point selling Quansah until there is a clear option

Aina is just a temptation due to the 4.4 price match and some fixtures you can start him in

But yeah, Kamada is a bigger issue

He played well. Very involved, Almost had an assist when Wellbeck hit the bar, Took his fair share of set pieces as well. That said end product was sometimes lacking.

Don't expect him to get anything at Arsenal though and Rogers Looked brilliant yesterday so not the worst Transfer.

Pre season I thought there were too many. Now none of them inspire. I still think ipswich and hence Davis will do well(or greaves as a sub option). Hoping davis falls to 4.4

Konsa is boring but could be an OK option for 4 weeks

Robinson is good I guess but could be overkill if you already own other fulham

Wouldn't read too much into Son's haul yet, as this was one of his (likely) few starts at CF with neither Solanke nor Richarlison ready to start. He's a great player and will still get hauls from LW, but I just won't consider him as pulling away yet

Bruno and Mykolenko likely to drop in price. Would you move them out?

Hol your horses and let’s see. You could consider Soucek for your mid, though fixtures aren’t fab.
Too bad you don’t have Ronbinson while Andersen had moved already. VDV is 4.5 and did well, but h’s got two tough fixtures coming up. Mazraoui has already gone up in price I think.

Thanks mate. Not too keen on szobo or Gordon yet. Eze definitely an option, unlucky not to haul in the two games so far. Makes more sense to keep Bruno and sell Murphy for rogers instead?

Not keen because they have only played 1 game?

              - Keep an eye Szoboszlai continue playing as a 10
              - Gordon on set pieces when Trippier doesn't play

Why does it make sense to keep Bruno and sell Murphy (1 game involving RC)?

Can either do Murphy > Rogers and keep Bruno another week. Else Bruno > esr/ Bowen . Not sure of Bruno replacements.

Murphy hasn't had a chance yet, so let's see how he plays in a full match with XI men

Even with Bruno, those missed chances don't scream "must sell" to me

Maybe take the price drop and then sell only when a clear replacement or combined move pops up?

Any need for a knee jerk reaction here? 2ft’s available

    Raya
    VVD Harwood-B Konsa
    Saka Eze Nkunku Jota
    Haaland Isak Solanke

    Fabi Murphy Anderson Barco

Harwood-Bellis is playing for a worse defence than Andersen's. Might get 0 or negative points vs Brentford

Andersen should be ready to start by then. I'd play him and roll both FTs, unless Solanke is confirmed out for longer or Nkunku doesn't reach 60 minutes

Most of them, tbh. Even the Johnson I'd have considered selling just got an assist vs City

Maybe Pope + Munoz to Areola + Timber, but that assumes Timber will be nailed

Delaying. Didn't plan to play it early anyway, and nothing's really affected my plan other than an injury and an illness. It's flags that can push me to a WC here:

          Pope
          Trent Gvardiol Munoz
          (C)Salah Jota Foden Gordon Eze
          Havertz (V)Isak
          .
          Virginia Jebbison Johnson Mosquera

What would you change with 1 FT or WC, btw?

  21. Warby84
    • 10 Years
    1 year, 3 months ago

    How is this WC?

    Steele (Fab)
    Gvardiol Gabriel Robinson Faes Mosquera
    Saka Salah ESR Rogers Sangare
    Haaland Pedro Watkins

    Thoughts??

    1. Ze_Austin
      • 7 Years

Verbruggen is back in training, and is considered by many to be a better GK than Steele. I'd just take Areola as the set-and-forget 4.5 right now

There's a lot of trust in cheap players here. Could be gold, but might be difficult to address until you've accumulated 3+ FTs. I understand the appeal though

            Tough aint it 🙂
So many good options at present.
For once, I reckon the pricing has been pretty much spot on and making choices really difficult.
I reckon the way to play this year may be very regular swapping of players in and out with form/fixtures. But, of course you can quickly lose value that way too.

Hopefully going to be a FUN season :).

'But, of course you can quickly lose value that way too.' - Should really say NOT gain value rather than lose.

I usually end up with a high team value which can be VERY valuable toward the end of the season (but i also tend to take a lot of hits). Could be a very different season this year :).

Really thinking Salah may become essential after today. Was going to wait until GW4 but by then may be priced out of the popular/logical moves to him.
What would yo reckon to the below???
Leaning toward 1 or 3 myself but hard to split. Reckon Porro struggles for next few, but am liking Rogers too.

    1 Saka + Jota – Salah + Rogers/Savio
    2 Saka + Isak – Salah + 7.5 fwd
    3 Porro + Saka – Salah + Robinson/Pau.

Saka looks essential too, even though I don't have him

Every option here involves a downgrade, which I'll only be comfortable with if you're capping Salah very regularly in this setup

I seem to be in a minority with Saka. I don't see the player others rave about, and I am a gooner. My son gives me real grief about it too, but I reckon he is being overhyped.

Did you like Mane? Saka's FPL consistency reminds me of Mane

I get it. BHA is still one game you may want to get out of Saka. Personally I’ve gone with Havertz from the start to save 2.0m.
I’d go with option 3 but get behind that couch for the BHA game.

Not sure how Saka to Salah is a downgrade? Fixtures for pool are great whereas for Arsenal only so, so over next few. Spuds fixtures are grim in short term too and so cant see Porro getting any clean sheets.
I would be looking to W.C. around GW6 and bringing Arsenal attack back in then.

Time to consider 1st transfer(s) of the season.
    Henderson.
    Porro, Gabriel, Robinson.
    Saka, Jota, Gordon, Smith- Rowe.
    Solanke, Haaland, Isak.
    Matthews, Rogers, Hall, Barco.

    2ft's, 0.5m ITB.
Thinking to WC around GW 6 and get on the likely lads then.
    For the next few weeks--

    1. Porro + Gordon -> TAA + 6.5m (Nkunku possibly).
    2. Change keeper.
    3. Save another FT.
    4. Something else standing out?

You’ll see they will fail to score again.

Saliba & Gabriel know how to play against Haaland & Calafiori/Timber strengthen the left side, that’s without talking about Merino bulking up the midfield.

Giving Eze one more GW. But not high on Palace any more. The transfer strategy is poor IMO. They have sold or are likely to sell 5 of their significant players from last season - Andersen, Ayew, Guehi, Olise, Schlupp. Other than Sarr in for Ayew, there aren't any upgrades in that team. If Guehi leaves as is expected their defence is in the mire and a poor defence often leads to a downgrade in attacking output.

Don’t think so but with the ability to roll 5 FTs, the first WC is a luxury now.

I’m even thinking about using an early FH because of the ability to hold 5FTs, it’s opened the game up.

GW5 when Arsenal and City clash (I’ll be heavy in both) feels like a decent chance to look at it, if you can get to 5FTs, you can deal with blanks/doubles without a chip.
