You believe Ipswich will ship 4 goals a match? I don't. And even if so, it could well be Adingra to score/assist against them, thinking of what seen as of now.

Yes I do. But it’s the words that are important. The question mark could have been rhetorical. Even as a genuine question, by initiating it with “you” you have clearly made it with the accusation already in mind. It’s a language thing. Thank you for clarifying though.

According to FFH, Solanke price is locked.

I think this might be due to the change in status from red flag (return after IB) to orange flag (50% potential return to Newcastle game)

Ange quote from pre game presser:
“It’s an ankle injury. He copped a knock really early, somebody went across his ankle. He’s definitely out tomorrow and then it just depends on the recovery. Obviously next week, then there’s the international break. But it’s not serious, we know that. Just an ankle injury.”

Ange quote from embargoed presser (10:30pm):
"It's not serious enough to keep him out for five weeks, he's still got a chance for the Newcastle game. That's the extent of it, it's just about how quickly he recovers."

    fplstatistics:
once his status has changed again his price will be "locked"

    Arsenal slots, Arsenal slots

    Defence/Saka/Havertz

    perhaps Isak can match Havertz

as a Son owner, I'm tempted to take his points and scarpa and switch for Salah/Saka

    1. Count of Monte Hristo

see I'm tempted to stick with the treble of Raya/Saliba/Gabriel if I can match Saka (Son) and Havertz's (Isak) points elsewhere...

Arsenal defence not great v Villa, but wondering if unmatched in FPL long term

Genuinely very happy with my team despite the bad GW so far.

I think I have the correct budget options around Haaland and just haven't got the rub of the green from Eze and Rogers.

Triple Arsenal looks correct, Jota has been good. Oddly, Isak starts to look a weak link at his price if Newcastle are poor again. Would be quite rogue to do Isak > Watkins after the super wasteful last performance.

Could be (I did not hear him saying that), but still, Calafiori is a left-footed centreback, while Saliba is definitely right-footed. Calafiori does not play wide since his AS Roma times (he was born 800 meters from my home), and started flourishing when he changes his role, in Switzerland on loan and then at Bologna. This is what I meant.

Next SGW triple captaincy opportunity on Haaland is GW11/12...

Erling Haaland is averaging a Premier League hat-trick every 9.7 games. To put that into perspective, Sergio Agüero has the most hat-tricks in the competition’s history and averaged one every 23 games.

Are you a happy Haaland triple-captainer or a sad non-owner?

I prepared two possible squads for Gameweek 1, with only three difference between them.
The Haaland squad included Haaland(15.0m), Bailey(6.5m) and Enzo Fernandez(5.0m), and the non-Haaland one had Salah(12.5m), Bruno Fernandes (8.5m) and Joao Pedro (5.5m) instead.
Unfortunately, I chose the non-Haaland one and my rank has plummeted to 5.5m, but that may also be partly because I captained Isak instead of Salah in Gameweek 1 and benched Joao Pedro (8) and Saliba (6) in Gameweek 2.

Is Haaland now essential, or not because he won't be playing Ipswich every week?

    1. Tonyawesome69

You chose non Haaland draft due to making the mistake of having Enzo in your draft

No, I chose the non-Haaland draft because our RMT tool thought it would score very slightly more over the first seven Gameweeks (up to the second international break, which has traditionally been a good time to play one's first wildcard).

RMT clearly underestimated Haaland's expected Gameweek 2 score, and Enzo was only a cheap enabler (the Haaland draft was set up for 3-4-3, and the non-Haaland one for 3-5-2).

When you say "clearly underestimated Haaland's expected Gameweek 2 score", do you actually fully understand how projection models/RMT tools work?

Yes. It expected him to score one goal and he scored three.
It might or might not have been a reasonable estimate, he could have scored more or less, but it was an underestimate compared with what actually happened.

I know, some of my worst mistakes have been due to following RMT too slavishly and I try to avoid doing so. I don't agree with some of its assumptions, but the start of the season is a very difficult time to assess form and fixtures.

Isn't a better choice than whom?
He scored 72 points in his last nine matches last season, and was third midfielder (after Foden and Palmer) in my first draft (which was based on last season's results including late season form, but did not take account of fixtures or of late returns from the Euros) before RMT came out.
He was still a good choice for third midfielder (after Salah and Saka) according to RMT, and could easily have scored more than he actually did in Gameweeks 1 and 2.

I TC’d Haaland, went to bed and woke up full of joy at the extremely rare moment of FPL happiness! Missed the Bernado price rise so couldn’t do the Nkunku > Bernado trade! The Lady in the Lake (moat actually) looking after me!

Gw1 was tough watching Salah, he looks sharp and ready for another golden boot challenge. All we could do as team Haaland was hope that come gw2 our faith would be restored in the robot.

With news that we may have less double game weeks and the addition of the mystery chip, I chose to use my triple capacity chip and couldn’t be happier.

I believe we will soon all have both Salah and haaland using enablers such as Rogers ESR Pedro etc. This then was an opportunity to tc haaland before team Salah also have him…

The one thing about Haaland is his hauls are *reasonably* predictable. He loves a home fixture against weaker opposition.
With that in mind, I'm likely to try and alternate between Haaland and Salah.

Difficult to alternate between them unless you have both in your team, and that means making sacrifices elsewhere.
It might be the way to go though.

Its fine to go without Haaland/Salah, but you have to know what your captancy plan is and be confident in it. You dont appear to have this confidence.

There was a guy on yesterday who captained Son's brace. Kudos to the guy, do you feel this maverik?

I was confident in captaining Salah coming into the Gameweek. He might still match Haaland's score, and I have other captain options such as Saka in my squad for forthcoming Gameweeks, but Haaland's hat-trick has spooked me a bit.

So now I'm not sure whether I made a mistake or whether I was just unlucky and it might turn out all right in the end.

5.5m means very little midway through GW2, as I'm sure you know. Presumably your captain hasn't played yet?

Still feels a bit early to evaluate it, but the guys that I definitely would've had to sacrifice to accommodate Haaland & Salah - Havertz & Son mainly - are keeping it an interesting contest at least

Not essential when if you go without, you can afford a midfield with Saka, Palmer, Son, Jota, 2 premium defenders and a selection of any forwards not named Haaland

I just described my team which doesn't even have Salah but he'd be easy enough to fit in too if I really wanted

I picked my team around the best four captains for GW1-5. Haaland, Salah, Saka and Isak. I started with Palmer in first drafts but switched to Saka to free up 0.5.

Plan was to build up transfers for a GW6 wildcard but my punt on Rashford hasn't worked and I'm down to 14 with Barco off to sunnier climes so we'll see if I hold my nerve!

      Still too early to say.
15m is a lot of money at the beginning of the season.
Forward options looking a bit thin.
Maybe packing the midfield is still the way to go with Salah, Saka,Son and Palmer carrying on last season's form.

Not sure anyone will see this, but, after 3 weeks (assuming no transfers).
      Haaland/Salah/both?/neither?
      40m for 4 attackers

      Haaland/Salah/ESR/Welbeck = 120 (Welbeck could be Wissa (117), Wood (116), or Pedro (115))
If you went with the popular Haaland/Salah/Nkunku/Muniz = 91 (but, of course, people dropped Nkunku)

Palmer/Saka/Son/Havertz = 92; no real alternative formation that does anywhere close to this

I went the no Haaland/Salah route; I have been killed.

I took him yesterday because of Solanke.
Actually he had a lot of shota but no points.. that 4:0 vs everton from spurs hurts me because Solanke would match the haaland's score

Today I wish for great Salah day.

I like it. Ibviously defence not the strongest and the 5th mid is a 2 pointer every gw but apart from that its good. Will also consider Villa defence/keeper and use the money to upgrade midfield
