      Colwon't
Aina in South Africa means it hurts.
      Collins chance of rotation.
      Digne a troll.
Konsa back to C Back and no attacking returns.
Mazraoui Good medium term but a rotation alternative maybe.

Tempted to captain Salah. If my years of playing FPL has taught me anything he will haul as there’s been a massive sell off just before he faces the worst defence in the league. It’s just how FPL works.

TBH I don't think it makes much sense to keep Salah on WC. It just enables a ton to not go for him. And really it's just this week before the fixtures become a bit stiffer.

              Madueke 😛

But yeah I mean he's probably the best FPL player of all time. The price is just really steep for a player you probably won't captain and whose fixtures aren't the best.

I don't think so. Lewis is a young player with not many PL starts under his belt, tough to ask him to cover for someone of Rodris experience.
I think maybe Gundogan is more likely to take the over from Rodri.

        Raya, Valdimarson
        Mykolenko, Gabriel, TAA, Greaves, Lewis
Salah, Mbeumo, Rogers, ESR + the midfield choice
Haaland, Wood + DCL or 4.5m choice

      • 11 Years

Needed to say Saka plus 4.5 or Raya and Martinelli.
Maybe 1st one as Raya has got a lot of points due to saves against hard opposition.
Martinelli only a punt with minutes a small risk.

      1. LiverpoolKG
        • 3 Years

Yea feel Martinelli is a risk, originally planned for Trossard.
Raya is a set and forget if so, more than to gain from immediate easy fixtures. Prob feel double Arsenal def is more productive than Martinelli punt, but not overly convinced on Saka either tbh, but any attacking returns are likely to come through him one way or another so also feel I need the Arsenal attack cover.

I don't think this is the week regards Semenyo, I do sort of see it but there's just no evidence from him he's ever been capable of putting up a captain worthy haul. I think he managed 13 against Luton last year and everything else was single figures. Maybe he's a better player this season. He's certainly getting more minutes and more attempts at goal, possibly loss of Solanke on that front?

Which leads me on to the other bit about potentially not doing Haaland. Loads of good options this week with good games on paper for Villa, Arsenal, Liverpool. I'm not sure it'll be quite the autocap Haaland territory this week we'll be into in a few weeks.

FWIW I advised people not to captain Trent last week and we know how that panned out. Strictly on outcomes I was wrong so probably best to ignore me. I'm chalking it down to variance given Bournemouth should have scored and he was lucky not to score an OG.

I'm considering him for VC, would take a very brave man to captain him.

I was considering it, but would need to downgrade an attacker to bring in another Arsenal defender. The only option is Salah>Diaz, but want to see how Diaz rotates with CL before I drop him. So decided to go for more attackers rather than defence for now.

      a couple of possibilities:

Raya - limping and wearing a bandage leaving the stadium
Timber - went off but apparently gave a positive interview after the match referencing getting minutes under his belt
Calafiori - also went off (could be)

On pure fixtures Brentford / Ipswich looks pretty good but I'm just not sure I trust Brentford (though I'm probably sticking with Davis). 3-way with BRE/NFO/Greaves gives plenty of good options

that's what I'm on now... Aina/Collins/Greaves. Feels a bit cheap but with Gabriel and TAA only need 1 of them to play every week.

Yeah I don't think it gets better than that at that price. The alternatives I'm looking at are all 0.5 more - Konate/Dalot/De Ligt. Unless Branthwaite/Patterson are confirmed back and you want to take the plunge on that being the catalyst for a return to last season's solidity

Could do, yeah. Maybe it's because I'm only barely there in trusting Man Utd defensively that I'd prefer the bonus magnetism of Dalot or the set piece threat of De Ligt. Plus Martinez can be a scary watch, diving in with 2 feet and all

Was going to post about this. Think I’ve settled on Milenkovic and like the rotation of Collins but not sure on their defence. Think Cowlill and Konsa are a good shout too. Others I’ve looked at with a bit more attacking threat are Kerkez and Davis but not sure Kerkez nailed and Greaves the best 4.0 mil defender so rules out Davis really.

I'd recommend considering Mazraoui as one of your defenders. Shaw has been ruled out until after the next international break, but I have to say from experience as a United fan I don't think we'll see him featuring regularly until after Christmas. Even then, we have three full backs only until Malacia returns (also not happening any time soon). He's so attacking that for the price point I still think he's a keep for me.

On your question about attackers, for me Solanke and Wood are both better options than Jackson and Pedro. Wood in particular is someone I think you need in a wildcard play. 4 matches at home out of the next 6, on penalties, no European commitments, already out of the Carabao Cup. Conversely, Jackson is always a rotation risk and has a tough fixture schedule. Solanke I can see going on a bit of a run now and doesn't have much threat to his starting spot for now.

The standard forum answer is: "if you don't captain Salah, he's not worth the extra 2M".

But if you can find a way to get TAA, Saka, Salah and Haaland, please let me know.

Getting Saka in is one of the main reasons I'm WCing haha BUT there is more than one way to play the game.

Interestingly enough, I'm a Chelsea fan and try to avoid any Chelsea players in my team (to not jinx them)... obviously had Palmer last season tho

For me, the triple-up makes watching the game more exciting haha

I think no Saka is very risky. Has an assist in every game and now faces 3 weak opponents, and will surely haul in at least one of them.
Double figures in all 3 would not surprise.

Not much mention of Robinson as a defender on the WC's, is that just because he is now 4.7m and hence doesn't fit nicely in a 4.5m slot.
I've got him since 4.5m, so don't no whether to keep on WC or to bank the 0.1m profit?

I haven't officially sold him yet given price rises, but although the fixtures are still pretty decent, I feel like most of the best CS opportunities have gone by now (LEI ips WHU). Expect they probably will concede in games like BRE/WOL/BHA

Bruno Fernandes not being on corners or indirect FKs when Eriksen is on isn't being talked enough imo. The model's darling really isn't such a good FPL pick and the raw 'chances created' stat is irrelevant imo. He plays so many forward passes that anyone taking a pot shot after he fed them the ball credits him with a 'chance created'.

The more relevant stat is 'big chances created' and Bruno has only created 2 big chances this season which is the same as Diaz, Gibbs-White and lower than Rogers, Mbeumo, Maddison and even Rashford, his own teammate. His xGI is really high but that's mostly from the first game where he played as a false 9 and had two big chances which he missed. Since then, he hasn't been nearly as dangerous and he's had 5 games now to make his mark.

A clear avoid on WC imo especially at that price point. He could come good at a later time and/or if United start getting pens but I would steer well clear until United start showing some genuine threat.

Good point. Also feels like penalties are less likely for united than a couple of seasons ago.

I'm a United fan and I agree with this assessment. I would caveat it that I don't think Eriksen will play a lot this season in the league - Maynoo and Ugarte will be preferred, with Casemiro and Eriksen being spared due to their age. Until we start really being clinical in front of goal, xGI, big chances created, etc. are all pointless. You don't get any points until someone scores a chance.

I will be watching keenly as Hojlund comes back to the starting line-up regularly. He looks like a different player physically. If he turns into a 15-20 goal striker this season then suddenly Fernandes will be a much more viable option.

Not sure about eriksen, started last 2 games which was a surprise, but he played really well. Still a top player just not the legs in the big games. Still I can't see ugarte starting at home to spurs up next as we will need eriksen's creavity. Ugarte more likely on as a sub but should start away at villa next I think.

Utd very toothless up front, really need to start taking those chances.

I would avoid all utd except for maz or de ligt really. Bruno has been poor so far, was really frustrating v palace, so many misplaced passes and the outside of boot shot when clear through when could take it on his left was ridiculous.

Brentford/Forrest/Ipswich decent threeway trio for rotation (for 1 spot)

    a) Konate + Mbuemo
    b) TAA + Rogers
