A muscular doesn't sound good for a start over the week-end for Raya

Big decision for wildcarders including probably me

Huge decision! Most were probably planning on Raya, plus a Defender. Now clean sheets are less likely. I was still deciding if I'm willdcarding or not, and now pretty sure I won't

I’m in a similar situation. Do we think Raya starts this weekend? It could force me to pull the trigger on my wildcard tonight especially as I have Pedro and Barco too! What do we reckon the odds of Raya starting?

Most preview websites are still predicting that Raya should start, but I’m not that confident of that.

At the start of the week the journalists who work around Arsenal said he’d be back for the weekend, he was rested, Arteta saying he don’t know is just making it look more convincing because the media are trying to create a narrative around Raya & time wasting.

Sometimes you just have to read between the lines.

I just brought him in after GW5 and knowing my luck, he won’t be ready.
My contingency plan is to now bring in Neto as backup.

If I was wildcarding I might invest in a 4.5 playing GK.
Personally thing Raya will be rested just because they play PSG in the championsleague on tuesday. Why risk it when you got Neto who for gods sake should manage Leicester behind the leagues best d-line.

    3 FT & 0.0m ITB

    Alisson
    TAA - Porro - Lewis - Konsa
    Salah - Eze - Mitoma
    Haaland - Havertz - Welbeck

    Fabianski - Onana - Keane - Winks

I think Alisson > Sanchez is the best move to address him but which other moves would you make?

    A) Mitoma/Eze > Mbuemo
    B) Havertz > Jackson
    C) Both

    Hello guys,

Question to experienced FPL friends: Right now, I've 2 FT, if I use Free hit, for next gameweek, 2 FTs will be zero or it will remain as 2 FT, or even it becomes as 3 FTs?

    Thank you beforehand.

overpriced is a wild comment for a midfield player who has returned 230 points minimum for the last 7 years

But the value is captaincy. If you ain’t captaining then Diaz seems a better value bet.

I think it’s more how much the money unlocks.

For me (not on wc), Salah to saka means I can do mitoma + fodder to mbeumo + semenyo, and I can bench Joao Pedro against Chelsea away

      Seems like a no brainer

Having looked at the fixtures for next 6 weeks or so and I won't be captaining him once so it just seems a real waste of money. Diaz on same points and loads cheaper makes much more sense to me.

Massive headache with the 2 FWD spots to go with Haaland on WC6

Below are the likely options I'm considering.

Feels like it's DCL v Wood and Solanke v Watkins v Havertz

FWD: Solanke, Watkins, DCL, Wood, Havertz

    1. BobbyDoesNotLook
      • Fantasy Football Scout Member
      • 8 Years

For me (wc6) likeliest scenario is DCL+Solanke.

Solanke for me could be slightly a try-to-be-redemption rather than truly an analytical pick. But he is a great forward, Spurs attacking is good and it is a matter of time when he gets his flow at Spurs so why not.

Watkins is clearly a different price bracket so difficult to compare. Havertz is slightly a question without Ode so I am not buying as a non-owner.

To add, I don't know about Wood. Not necessarily in form, IMO, even though there has been returns. DCL is very similar forward and has also returns so I am leaning to him due to cheaper price and fixtures (short and medium term).

As a third striker besides Watkins and Haaland, I'm finding it difficult to justify Jackson or Solanke over Havertz.
Solanke- a one season wonder (in the PL). That's fine for a youngster but he's 27. Plus it's Spurs.
Jackson: Major risk of rotation if he has a couple of poor performances. Plus it's Chelsea.

    Havertz:
The phrase "it's Arsenal" now only applies to April.

    1. ZeBestee
      • 11 Years
      1 year, 4 months ago

I think Havertz will do better than both in the next 3 and even in the entire season. Solanke though isnt a bad pick. I just don't rate Jackson, but Chelsea are showing grit so may be a good option, but its a wait and see as the next set of fixtures will truly gauge where they are in terms of level.

True, with the huge amount of players Chelsea bought, eventually they'll find someone who shoots the lights out. Might be Jackson.

    TAA - Porro - Robinson - THB - Myko
    Salah - Jota - Eze - ESR - Rogers
    Haaland - Wood - Pedro

    2FT, 1.5itb

    1. Jota > Mbeumo
    2. Jota + Pedro >> [Semenyo/McNeil] and Havertz

        • Fantasy Football Scout Member
        • 15 Years

I don't know if I agree with that. Salah + Haaland drafts have done really well up to now and most people have barely captained Salah.

It's really just combinations of players. Salah + cheap forward vs Saka + Watkins. I don't think it's so cut and dry. If there is value elsewhere to be had then Salah could fit in purely for his raw points output without needing to factor in captaincy.

        1. Malkmus
          • 14 Years
          1 year, 4 months ago

But Diaz has more points than Salah, and is nearly 5m cheaper which is huge. It allowed me to upgrade Porro to Gabriel and Rogers to Mbuemo. Salah could still haul and will prob get more than Diaz and if he had some plum fixtures that I was going to cap him then I'd keep, but after capping him v Bournemouth I'm just thinking he's currently way overpriced. And unlike last season I think pricing/value will be really important. Last season I had 5m itb at the end.

Past points are not a predictor of future ones. It's without question that Salah is more nailed than Diaz and has pens. He's a better asset and will score more points.

If you feel you can make better use of the money then I understand but there are enough cheap options that it's possible to go for him I think.

I said possible. I'm just exploring options. It does seem to make more sense to go for Saka instead and spread the funds but I wouldn't rule Salah out just because he's 5m more than Diaz.

            1. Malkmus
              • 14 Years
              1 year, 4 months ago

TBH I've always Salah in previous seasons, and it could come back to bite me, but I just feel he's not worth the money right now for the output, compared to the extra points you can get in with the spare money. Similar to other elites when they get older and drop-off, like KDB for example.

    Opinion on Solanke vs. Jackson?

I'm in an annoying spot on WC where all of Saka/Diaz/Semenyo could rise and alresty have value tied up in Mbuemo/ESR/Rogers.

Can't swap anyone but Semenyo, and can only gain 0.1m if Diaz rises, and I sell to afford Jackson over Solanke.

Jackson has been very good for us, but won't often be a 90 minute man. Especially with Nkunku in good form for us too. More goals this season - albeit lesser opposition.

Solanke has some encouraging numbers but I never see him as someone who is going to brace.

I'd go Solanke over Jackson I think. Just about. The 90mins and nailed part is what would do it. Jackson has serious competition in Nkunku, gets subbed often and the fixtures aren't great. You might be able to ride the Jackson wave for 2 more weeks but he'll eventually need to be replaced I think.

Not sure I agree with the opinion on Solanke and "never see him as someone who is going to brace". The number of chances created for Spurs CF in Angeball setup should see the potential for a brace increase imo

Oh I agree, in theory. Just yet to see it! The models do rate him higher over a range - but that is in part due to the better xMins. I don't LOVE his next two but beyond that it gets interesting.

I initially was frustrated at being 0.1 off Jackson and my ideal WC6 squad.
Have sort of come to terms with Solanke instead. Would've probably had to to move Jackson on, anyway (unless form continued, obvs).
I think a fit Solanke should do even better at Spurs, than Bournemouth. I had him in my GW1 team, for that reason.
Having said all that. If Raya is out, I'll probably get Havertz instead.
