So many intriguing 4.5 ish guys. Who is everyone,s 2-3 favs?

    Lewis feels like a must
    Robinson still very forward
    Justin has a great run

Why does Lewis feel like a must? You'll be checking City's team sheet every week and Ederson tends to concede his first SoT faced pretty consistently.

Is Trent really worth the 1m more than Robertson? Robbo looked dangerous today, could have easily got an assist or two. Trent always threatens a haul, rarely seems to happen. I own Trent btw

Robbo xMins risk at some point probably although he looked very good today. Trent is going to get a few big hauls I think

Check the history. Robbo is getting older, Trent perhaps even improving. On WC I might have defenders only from 3 teams: Raya/Alisson, TAA, Gabriel, Rico L and then either Robbo or Gvardiol.

      1. Davido989
        • 15 Years

On WC I would consider Raya Gabriel Trent VVD and never touch defence again

I just can't understand Bonus Points. eg: - Arsenal v Leicester today.
    Trossard scores twice
    Justin scores twice
    Martinelli 1 goal, 1 assist
    Havertz 1 goal

so who should get 3 bonus points? - Bukayo Saka?!?!
at one point he was given an assist for Trossard's second (at least by the BBC) but not by FPL so what did he do to deserve a MOTM bonus point status?!

It is not Saka's fault that he created so many normal and big chances. Have you read the rules? To play any game, knowing rules and how the game works is very important.

Pedro is red flagged and supposed to play next game. I can afford him to drop once without losing value, so I am not in a hurry to sell him. Players that risk losing my TV go out always in basically that order.

Yeah he’s not a bad pick and should have hauled today, but fixtures aren’t great (NFO not a ‘green’ fixture IMO) and it’s that c70 mins game time and Nkunku on the sidelines that puts me off.

Solanke has that same Brighton high line next, then an out of form West Ham (who Jackson hauled against of course), Palace (also not looking great, averaging just under 4 big chances conceded a game recently), Villa and then Ipswich. I like that run and think Solanke could be a good option - Man Utd this week will be a good eye test.

That Brighton defending today is one of the worst I think I've seen in 30 odd years of watching football. How can you play a high line with snails at the back? I thought Hurzeler was some sort of genius but this is just stupidity. Palmers looked great in two games where teams have defended horribly and anonymous otherwise.

It cant work if you've got no pace. You can't catch them offside if they are happy to give you 5 yards because they know they'll still get there first conceding the head start. Suicidal stuff. Needs to be stopped or they will keep getting ripped apart by any pace and somebody capable of spraying half decent balls over the top

Defending all round in that game looked shocking!

Interesting that Chelsea will go from playing one of the highest defensive lines in the league (Brighton 2nd on this metric, just behind City) to one with one of the lowest (Forest 4th lowest this season and lowest last season).

He didn't make it top 5 million last season. Are you REALLY worried now?!?

Here we were told at school that dog is always "it". However, I believe they are called either he or she if sex is known 😉 And even here NOT previously "it", even though we have only one word covering both words (he and she).

My dog is called Boomer. He / she is sleeping now thankfully, but will check out his / her pronouns with him / her in the morning.

My late dog at least knew that she was she. Female humans in her territory (the bed) were not her best friends. She liked more those who didn't dleep with me 😉

The current puppy is different story...

You and me both Ricicle. Same outcome ML wise.

Still think its the right move. Needed a bit more resilience across my squad hence GW6 WC.

Could have done with not being burnt by it 1st time of asking.

Awful feeling ain’t it, but I’m surprisingly more at ease with it than I thought I would be about Palmer, I don’t like Chelsea’s fixtures and certainly won’t be panicking to rush Palmer back in my squad.

A gameweek too early perhaps but he certainly wasn’t justifying his price tag. I wanted more spread and resilience also.
Ah well, only next Gameweek, I’m still inside the top mil from 500k today, until tomorrow haha!
Wouldn’t mind a Rogers hat trick.

Sold both Palmer and Salah. Palmer, I didnt blink an eye at. Was more worried about Mo. Cant happen every week surely. I think the biggest issue was that the guys I brought in did nada.

Saka, Diaz, TAA, Gabriel did nothing.
          Haaland (C) likewise.

2 extremes and ended up on the low one.

It’s such tough luck, it really is. I didn’t hesitate taking Palmer out either, was fully convicted in that decision, just a freak event, he won’t be doing that again in a hurry haha!
Salah I definitely wanted to keep, just have a soft spot for him like many.

I wasn’t on a WC, I played that in GW 3 and have done well since, but this GW it’s toppled a little.

            I ended up doing Palmer + Jota + Chalobah + J.Pedro > L. Diaz + Mbuemo + Gabriel + DCL

Haaland captain the same. Just a seismic turn in luck but can easily balance itself out next week before internationals.

Only Captain Hindsight would say those werent great transfers.

I mean, 2.9% of people on here said they would captain Palmer, yet at half time, that ML margin after 5 weeks was wiped out right there and rank doubled from 300k to 750k.

                Absolutely haha!
It’s such fine margins isn’t it, especially at this stage, I’m fully aware people will flock to Palmer now and I’m pleased because I really don’t think they will do that well with their fixture swing. The points are gone and just have to move on to next Gameweek.

Im with you mate. 100%. Lets hope and keep telling ourselves that. I still believe it to be so. Im happier with my team now than any of GW1-5 but my balls are aching from that size 11 that kicked them good style tonight.

Absolutely mate, it’s hard to take the day it happens but let the dust settle and it becomes clearer. We’re both more happier with our squads so it’s onwards & upwards for sure!

We just have to hope so. However, we are going to probably see Foden and Son getting huge points this season also.

I can't remember the correct word for helping each other in this kind of situation mentally. However, this will be season of shocks. C Haaland owners have beaten Salah captainers. Dream team is unaffordable. There will be wins and losses. CC's are easy to follow and AI is based on old performances. FPL will be more like a roller coaster and we can't simply play it safe and end up in top 10k.

Interesting. The only reason I'm playing after a hiatus is I was invited into a league.

Thing is I HAVE to win. Nothing else will do. So even if hardly any of the league have got any decent OR history you do look at times and go grrrrr.

Yeah you can’t help but look and grimace at the sheer luck, but as I say I’m not that concerned, it’s just been one of those gameweeks.

During my sports betting career I used to say that 50% of surprises can be predicted and the other half not. Early goal and RC changes everything for example. Only Brighton fans were basically able to fear this imo. They knew the risks. We perhaps didn't listen or believe.

I don't mean Palmer scoring all 4 but Brighton (like others) take stupid risks at the back so I'm not surprised they conceded 4.

I really don't get this way of playing. You don't have to hoof it to cut out risks but this is extreme.

Bit confused on what to do.

    Pope (Turner)
    TAA Konate Robinson (Faes Greaves)
    Salah Mbeumo ESR Eze (Winks)
    Haaland Solanke Wood

I’m pretty happy with all my positions except my mids (specifically Eze). Should I:
    1. Get Palmer & Diaz by selling Salah & Eze
    2. Get Palmer & 4.0 Def for Eze & TAA
    3. Just get Diaz by moving a LIV defender along:
    a) Eze & Konate -> Diaz & Mazraoui
    b) Eze & TAA > Diaz & Gvardiol
    c) Eze & TAA -> Diaz & De Ligt

Hard to figure out what’s chasing yesterday’s points and what’s setting my team up for success, any help appreciated.

    Cheers!

I like 2 with van den Berg
Having Haaland + Salah + Palmer could be killer, best 3 assets in the game when most players on here only have the 1 (who everyone has anyway)

    Raya,
    TAA, Gabriel, Robinson,
    Salah, Saka, Palmer, Mbuemo, ESR,
    Watkins, DCL,

    Lis, Faes, Harwood B, Fraser

    A) Play WC
    B) Salah + Watkins to Haaland + 6.2m mid for -4
    C) Keep current team and carry on going against Haaland
