I have my chips activated. Southampton at home are the whipping boys so far. Haaland scored a brace yesterday so is over his duck. Don't see much point in waiting. Though, knowing Pep, he'll bench him for a 85th min cameo

"Surely he won't blank against a poor Newcastle side"
"Okay, but surely he won't blank at home to Fulham"
"OKAY, but surely he won't blank against the worst defence in the league"

Not really, you could make an argument for Wolves with how bad their defence has been but Fulham and Newcastle are simply better teams than Southampton. Before GW6 Newcastle had 10 points out of a possible 15 and before GW7 Fulham had 11 points from 18. Fulham have 1 point all season

Newcastle's a tough fixture, but you had people on here thinking he'd demolish them, especially off the back of 2 hattricks. Fulham are decent, but you'd still expect the best striker in the league to bag against them at home - they put 3 past them after all.

Wolves only have 1 point too and have shipped more goals, so that's not the best point to make.

I think Haaland will score too, but how have people not learnt that there's no such thing as "surely" in FPL yet.

No I agree, but Southampton are still a much worse team than Wolves imo. You can't say 'surely he scores', but the chances are higher.

That isn't hindsight, that's just a fact mate.

Southampton nearly have the same xGA as Newcastle & Fulham combined.

2 FT and 3.9 ITB. Have just the right cash to do A but will be priced out when RAN rises.

    A - Robinson, Marti & Mateta > RAN, Salah & Raul for -4

Really? Feels like the Palmer boat is sailing away, been grateful for Salah's service but (ars) a much tougher fixture than (NEW) at the moment, no?

& Arsenal also being decimated with injuries plus facing a tougher run, could be time to hop off Havertz in favour of someone more explosive and in-form?

        1. jonnybhoy
          • 13 Years

As you said Arsenal decimated with injuries/suspensions I'd be inclined to keep Salah, hes still is a differential in most mini leagues and liverpool are in form atm.

I do think Havertz is a sell soon but I'd hold him and try build up the FT as the closer you get to xmas the more you need imo. If you really want you could sell for Raul/Cunha/Watkins but I would hold this week personally.

I'm looking to (reluctantly) ship Watkins soon. As a way to getting Palmer after his ars fixture. Looking at
              Raul, strand, cunha, wood.

It could… still requires some downgrades elsewhere though, if ESR is the man to make way.

I think I'd do both actually (C). Like all those forward options except Hojlund - Watkins is starting looking really sharp now I think if you've no plans for the extra cash. Slightly less sure about selling Salah but I think I'd just get Palmer in as I feel like he's just generally going to be the most reliable (C) at the moment

Yeah I was swaying that way but now wondering whether Salah should be given another week given both his form and the state of Arsenal!

Havertz I’m much less attached to keeping, just can’t decide who the best replacement is - love Watkins, but wondering if the extra cash might come in handy if I opt for Raul or a Wolves lad.

Hojlund not shown enough, is it?

Well, it's been a long barren run until recently. I didn't actually catch the Man Utd game last weekend but it just feels really punty compared to the other 3 who would probably constitute my ideal forward line at the moment excepting Haaland (who I might actually sell for Watkins next week)

A definitely more balanced and covers you in terms of Arsenal defence, plus prefer Cunha to Larsen (and would go Son over Foden).

Leicester + Forest were yesterday, I'll round these two up in today's summary

Son or Foden for next few:

    A) Son (cpa, AVL, IPS)
    B) Foden (SOT, bou, bha)

Easily Son for me for now - more nailed. Foden gamble could pay off but higher risk

Has to be Son at the moment, ino. Foden not even guaranteed decent, regular minutes

      Son.

But I'd rather go Palmer directly now. NEW mun ARS. Only the Arsenal game is tough and it's at home. I rate Palmer as a better FPL asset than both the other two.

Chelsea have 0 wins and 6 league goals at Old Trafford in the last 10 years, it's a tough fixture for them despite the "banter"

Newcastle conceding 3 to a Fulham was an outlier. They're not Wolves with Ait Nouri in a back 4 having an absolute meltdown

As Foden started back so late is he less liable to Pep rotation going forward?

Goodness knows, but it does seem pep is preferring to save him for CL.
Bob is on his way back now too, to add to the dilemma

    A: Son/BJ
    B: Foden

*Have Haaland. Have no other spurs forward

BJ in A lets me bring back Saka/bring in Salah in a few GWs time.

Hi all, is my bench order correct? Confused between Larsen and ESR.

    Raya
    Gabriel TAA RAN
    Palmer Mbeumo Rogers ESR Johnson
    Haaland Watkins

    Bench- Larsen Davis Mosq**

Close. I'm not quite convinced that Everton defence are really 'back' yet, but ESR really struggled to get into the game last weekend and I fancy Brigton v Wolves to be pretty open so I think I'd start Larsen

Yeah, I am going back and forth with it....think you are right.... although I hate playing double wolves vs BRI away

    Hello all

Any help on what to do here will be very much appreciated:

    Raya Bentley
    TAA Gabriel Gvardiol Mazraoui, Johnson
    Saka, Jota, McNeil, Rogers, ESR
    Haaland, Watkins, Ndayie

    0.0 ITB 2FTs

    Saka and Jota out?

    Thanks

    Flekken
    Taa/Digne/Keane/Lewis/Bednarek
    Salah/Palmer/Rogers/Adama/Mbeumo
    Haaland/Welbeck/Delaap

Worth downgrading TAA to Konate (or a forest defender) to upgrade Adama to Johnson/Maddison?

    2FT available so no cost.

If I wanted Palmer would've moved before rise to 10.9 I don't think Newcastle defence is that bad so not must have for me this week. Probably regret posting this
