Delap would be my first choice to bring in for this weekends match vs Leicester but there is a chance Hirst will keep his place so that has put me off a bit. Moving for Cunha or Strand instead.

Pretty sure there will be plenty of goals in the Ipswich match though as neither team have particularly strong defences at the moment. Ipswich need the win more. Leicester will take the draw.

Luckily never had him, so you will know better than me. If McNeill is out who is going to supply him (Never owned an everton player so haven't watch them). Like Cunha Raul Wissa, think Wood may have sailed, but that might me being stubbon

Been there so many times with DCL. Like everything's there for him to smash it, and you know somewhere there's a potential he can smash it, but like he just never does and I could see myself at the other end of the GW thinking why did I give this donkey another chance, should've just sold him. And I know this, because that's exactly how I felt at the end of this last GW

I'd appreciate some more feedback on this one guys if one would be so kind.
Question is do I play the WC?

    Current team:
    Raya,
    Gabriel, Ait Nouri, Robinson
    Salah, Palmer, ESR, Mbuemo, McNeil,
    Haaland, DCL,

    Lis, Faes, Harwood, N Fraser

    WC Team:
    Raya,
    Gvardiol*, Aina/Moreno, Ait Nouri,
    Salah, Palmer, Saka, Mbuemo,
    Cunha, Jackson, Jiminez,

    Fabianski, Garnacho, Dalot, Faes

    (*if fit)

My original plan was WC gw12 but after putting this draft together, I'm very tempted to go now instead. Thoughts?

Stick to the plan if you can. If you WC early like now, you'll lose the differential edge you currently have in 10 and 11. The NcNeil injury is annoying though. Or at least try and hold till 11, I think.

What would you say that edge is? Haaland?

I'm really not loving the Everton double up even with Southampton next (thats if McNeil even plays), I'd be upgrading ESR, and getting myself a more balanced team with an actual playing 8th attacker.

I'm not sure that my GW12 WC team would look too different to this one. (Obviously its difficult to say as a lot could change in that time). I'm actually glad I've started writing this out because I've been focused more on the question how will the WC benefit me and not on what benefit do I have of not WCing this week. I'd have to rely on Haaland getting at least a hat-trick and with the amount of injuries they have, he may struggle to... I know he still could but.

Oh plus price rises will lock me out of getting a lot of these players so I'd best move now, which is really starting to feel like the right move.

Your WC team looks great. I don't want talk you out of it, especially because you seem set on it in a good way.

I wrote a long reply player for player in your two teams, but as I did, realised your WC team has good fixtures in 11 to counter 10, so I think Im swayed over to WC now, with the added bonus of beating price rises!

Id like to re-open a hot topic from a few weeks ago.

Discussion then was if it was not better to fund a good front 7 + bench fodder, instead of putting an extra mil in the 8th attacker.

I was never a fan of it but with so many games, so many injury concerns and more yellow cards (and thus suspensions), is it now a more clever move to build a solid front 8?

    1. Sheffield Wednesday
      • 5 Years

I've had two 5.5m+ forwards and a 5m+ mid who rotate since GW3. Prior to that I had Wood and a 4.5m mid instead.

      1) So far 21 points from 4x attacking auto-subs since GW3. If the auto-subs had been defenders there'd have been just a handful of points.
      2) Could risk starting questionable injured attackers as there has been cover, with no need to make immediate transfers.

      On the other hand
      a) I've missed Wood's great run of points.
      b) I benched J.Pedro's goal against 10man Arsenal, and later Delap's goal against West Ham GW7.

Should have stuck with Wood and a 4.5m mid with hindsight, but there's not much in it.
