The current top of the whole game went with Stewart at Soton (4.4) as a none playing forward, part of multiple transfers this week.

He’s on 92 for the week with 2 to play.

Cunha > Stewart might be the way.

She has actually quite poor TV, 101.9 which means that she can't afford Haaland.

I have considered him also, but my forwards are not losing value yet, so no need. I could do:
      TAA, Solanke, Jesus >>>
      Castagne, Haaland, Stewart (-8)

3-5-2 (or 4-4-2) with Isak and Haaland wouldn't be bad for next 3 weeks.

TAA is essential for the double though. You'd need to reverse it.

            24 or 25. Most likely 25.

If you want TAA, you basically cant have Haaland. I have Haaland currently and will be selling after West Ham. Its too late for people to get Haaland now with that double coming. He doesn't have great fixtures either.

Salah (C), Alisson & Slot on Assistant Manager Chip could also be good in GW25. I got Haaland too, but I will hold him for longer than you're planning, and not sure I will opt to sell to fit in TAA. Might just use the chip instead.

Selling Haaland will allow enable a few changes in my team, like getting Gordon and TAA, and letting me upgrade Evanilson and Enzo. Based on all of that, its worth it for me.

Its a shame I will miss the Ipswich game, but he wont be highly owned anyway.

If he hits good form again in the future I might WC him in, but I'll wait to see it.

I thought about using Assman, but the TC is too good of an opportunity. I also want to use that chip on an underdog later in the season and hope for maximum returns.

No point playing it on Dyche in GW25, they wont get the 5 team bonus thing in any of those fixtures in and around that double.

Slot would probably be close to matching Salahs points in GW25 if that is a DGW though.

Slot would have gotten 13 in this GW where Salah got 16.

I would also use FTs to bring in another manager in 26 & 27.

Ye I get that. We all play our game.

I would have a hard to to upgrade (or at least be happy with the upgrades) from the cash if selling Haaland:

                  Alisson
                  Timber - Robinson - Kerkez - Hall
                  Salah - Palmer - Eze
                  Haaland - Isak - Would

                  (Fab, Rogers, Coady, Choudhury)

Could upgrade the bench and I could get TAA. Could upgrade Rogers. But I guess I would look to free up a mil and bring in Slot with this squad. Then WC later on.

My plan is to save free tranfers to get Haaland in if/when needed. Saka after long injury will be wait and see, hopefully (for his sake) he is eased in.

Yes, and that's another reason why I am not going to do it. Basically the only scenario to get Haaland would be Salah or Palmer injury. Trent long term injury possibly the third one.

He’s not. You could do a cheaper Liv DEF, or triple attack, or go Slot.

Konate will probably be back by then. VVD an option too so yea, he isn't essential.

I'm just going all guns blazing this double. TC Salah, TAA, and Jota. If not Jota, then Diaz or Gakpo.

Possibly Ndiaye too. But that's probably too far.

I think I will go with 8 strong attackers in the coming weeks:

      Salah, Palmer, Gordon, Jota, Rogers,
      Isak, Mateta, Wood

I probably won't enjoy the benching headaches though.

        I have currently:
        Salah, Palmer, Diaz, Rogers, Enzo*
        Isak, Jesus*, Solanke*
        + 1ft, 2.2mitb

I was 0.1 million short off Enzo to Gordon so couldn't afford him. Watkins would be tempting, but too short term pick now imo. The way this season is going, injuries may happen and if either Watkins / Duran is out longer term, the other one becomes decent pick. Similar with Raúl/Muniz and 4 Liv attackers, Maddison / BJ and some others.

        1. have you seen cyan
          • 6 Years

Yea, Duran being a pick would be nice. I was looking at Watkins, but he is a tad too expensive for me. He isn't a great pick anyway with Duran lurking. I'd rather punt on Mateta who has great fixtures and is way below last seasons goal tally.

I'm surprised Gordon is so lowly owned, I think he is a priority.

I look at Kulu, but I just don't have space for him in midfield. There's probably 4/5 other players I would get before him.

I think AI can be good in FPL. But its clearly missing the bigger picture here. I have Jota, and I'm fully aware he is a minutes risk. I am hoping to keep him all the way until the Pool double.

Why it doesn't see Man U as a great fixture is concerning. The guy even scored this week.

The problem with Jota is that he is not match fit yet. Yes, he has braced from bench and is capable to do it. But AI doesn't count it like that. It counts him as minutes risk now.

I think it's good in general but the additional info that we get on here, usually isn't reflected in the model. Someone would have to feed in the new data with potential bias.

Yes, and then we have eye test etc in the model. But that's what many of us are doing anyway. We take a look at the stats and add some extra factors to our decision making.

You'd think the predictions would be more accurate over a large spell of games e.g. and this isn't using numbers from a source its purely fictional, predicting Martinelli would get 45 points in his next 10 would be more likely to happen than saying he'll get 9 combined in his next two, the flow of points over shorter spells is likely to be open to a lot of variance and it'll work itself out close to the prediction after 10 games if its accurate but that doesn't really work so well in FPL where we'll only hold some assets for much less than 10 games and we get knee jerky with transfers.

It does make me laugh when people say they are into analytics and what they actually mean is they blindly follow Review

They tend to put a massive emphasis on xMins. They also are slow to react eg Eze will be way more favoured than Sarr.

I think basically they stop you making bad decisions but won’t always ensure you make good ones

That's a pretty good summary. Largely agree.

Aside form the nonsense, I saw it picked up on a couple of interesting things. It saw Mateta was a possible option and clocked that Ndiayes XG/XGI etc has been improving.

I don't think that these "AI tools" are actually AI tools. They are more likely Excel spreadsheet that predict points that are simply calculated by some sort of formula or model. I have considered doing that, but it sounds more like work instead of fun. However, I think beating expected pts predicted by some tools wouldn't be too difficult.

I doubt that. There are so many factors that you can't feed to AI. Remember when Lindelöf had his first born. I ended up checking his missus' blog to find out, that Victor would miss game or two. Just because his wife is Swedish, not Spanish 😉

I actually agree with this idea of holding him. We're halfway through the season now and Wolves had this bad spell once already and they and Cunha still scored goals. I think even with bad fixtures for the team hes a better pick than a lot of strikers. It does depend on his injury status more than the ban though probably

145 points behind #1 at 12k-ish rank. How (un)likely is it to win FPL from this position, and does anyone know if such a deficit at the half way mark has ever been turned around?

It is possible but you better start planning it and find the most likely scenario in which you win it. You will have to take risks that may lose your top 100k OR.

Number one has used too many chips to win. She isn't your problem. It's 15k other teams.

Your chances are certainly below 1/50 000 and that's very optimistic.

    Havertz or Wood?

Wood is cheaper and more likely to have multiple goal involvements in a game

Havertz likely to score more points overall, but not much

When in doubt, pick the cheaper option. However, Havertz is better if you don't need the money elsewhere. But that's only my opinion and I am Jesus owner.

Nope. Mbeumo will cover palmers occassionally big halls by getting points weekly and is also on penalties. Isak far outscores strand. Carpe Diem

HNY to all! First decision of the year to move on Bowen and Strand Larsen with my two FT. Help appreciated. All decent options.

    A) Watkins + J.Murphy (0.0 in the bank)
    B) Raul + Gordon (1.0)
    C) Wood + Martinelli (0.4)
    D) Wood + Sarr (1.3)

A though watkins might be bench when Duron comes back. Otherwise C but martinelli does score much.
