Pras (FPL) Pras (FPL)
Share:

In his latest article, Pras – who has finished inside the top 40k of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) in each of the last seven seasons and now ranks 12th in our Live Hall of Fame – talks us through his transfer plans for each of the last three Gameweeks.

“I often feel that life is about to begin, only to realise it is almost over.” – Oliver Sacks

The tail-end of the FPL season often feels like that to me. It was only a few weeks ago when the Liverpool “double-double” was provisionally announced, we were planning our chip strategy and we were indulging in the uncharted Assistant Manager chip territory. The doubles and blanks came and went, and now we stand here with three Gameweeks left and no further bumps in the road.

This isn’t the time to look back, as such, but I am happy with how my season has gone. Lady Luck has been firmly on my side on a lot of crucial 50/50s but equally, I think I have made fewer bad decisions (again, a byproduct of things generally going my way on many of the picks).

I sit just under 3k rank and at a little bit of crossroads as to how I see out the season. I could, of course, play my normal style and keep making good decisions, or play a bit more aggressively to push for a triple-digit rank. That’s something I have never had in 14 years of playing FPL. This is easier said than done, of course.

Last week, I went against the popular Bryan Mbeumo (£8.2m) captaincy and despite the Omar Marmoush (£7.6m) blank, I feel I got away with one, given the mere five points Mbeumo got in Brentford’s four-goal victory.

GAMEWEEK 36 BUS TEAM

My bus team (below) looks in decent shape. I say so, speaking relatively. Not many defenders have good clean sheet odds, and the forward line has been somewhat misfiring.

Pras transfer plans

Like many others, I am going to ride it out with my goalkeepers and defenders. I don’t see the upside in using one “magic bean” on a transfer such as Tino Livramento (£4.6m) to Neco Williams (£4.5m). Instead, I will dedicate the three remaining moves to attack the fixtures. These include the promoted teams plus the distracted Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur sides.

Generally speaking, the three forwards I am looking at are Yoane Wissa (£6.7m), Evanilson (£5.8m) and Ollie Watkins (£8.9m). These are all unique in the sense that none of them are on penalties, and we love our penalty-taking forwards. However, when it’s a case of three Gameweeks, the “extras” matter a bit less and it’s about targeting fixtures and entry/exit points.

Gameweek 36 Plan

Those with Areola, and maybe BB37, any chance that Fab plays as it could be his last home game as WH player?

2FT, £3.8m in the and planning on playing BB this week.

    Raya - Areola

    Kiwior – Konsa – Gvardiol – Burn - Huijsen

    Rogers – Mbeumo – Salah – Savinho – Sarr

    Mateta – Isak - Marmoush

    Thinking

Savinho to KDB with 1FT the other FT on either:
    (A) Kiwior to Milenkovic/Munoz.
    (B) Rogers to Shade
    (C) Mateta to Wissa

Why is Arteta such a wet wipe? Seems to always find a way to say the wrong thing. The untrue comments from the PSG bench acknowledging they were the better side or Arteta himself claiming Arsenal are the best team in the competition. Also, the over reliance on set pieces and not figuring out better ways to play the game and win matches. And his lame comments that previous seasons points tallies wins the PL this year as of that counts for anything 😆

    1. Hairy Potter
      • 10 Years

I'm now beginning to doubt his claims that Willock told his former Arsenal teammates that the ball was out in that game against Newcastle.

He's a good manager, but a bad loser, which I suppose is fine, if you're winning.

His comments are extremely disrespectful and also delusional. It doesn’t really come off great at all.

You have to wonder what the players think of him. If I was a player I’d be thinking wtf is he on about, just be honest and say the team needs to be better. It makes the club a complete joke not that it needs help.

One fa cup in 5 years is a complete embarrassment. Wenger on a shoe string budget did the same thing and was hounded out of the club by its disrespectful and despicable fan base.

They will always be bottlers and failures. If can see them failing to get 2nd, imagine pep’s worst season in his career and he finishes ahead of Arsenal who have apparently had the best season in decades.

That “best” season without a trophy. The “best” season playing Tony pulis style football. Losers spurs may even get a trophy before Arsenal which is gilarious

      1. Count of Monte Hristo
        • 12 Years

Very well said, agreed with all of the above. You do wonder what the players must think of him.

        1. Nightcrawler
          • 6 Years

The players probably think he's right. Over the 2 legs their keeper made far more big saves than Raya so the players must feel they missed out

I personally think psg were the much better side. The gulf in quality of the front 3 is there to see but u can't expect players to feel that when u create so many chances

        • 6 Years

So much nonsense In This I'm starting to think you're troll

"Arsenal have apparently had the best season in decades". No arsenal fan thinks arsenal have just had the best season in 2 years let alone 2 decades.

"Wenger on a stroke string budget" true for 06-12 but Wenger botched the Leicester city season by only signing Cech. That alone was sack worthy. The following 2 seasons arsenal were one of the highest spenders in world football. Signed crap players that took ages to leave and couldn't even get UCL in those 2 seasons. Not to mention arsenal have had a better Europeans campaign last two seasons than the previous 16 seasons

With hindsight you can say it’s too late but I’ve nailed all the other chips so can’t complain. If I get 10pts I’ll be happy. With hindsight I could’ve used it on another singer gw earlier in the season but would rather have waited on the chance of a dgw which unfortunately didnt come

Not the most inspiring bench for BB. I suppose it depends on if you think a lot of your players won't play in GW38 and you won't have FTs to use.

It would be better for keepers in 38 with raya and areola but might do raya to Sels this week instead. So areola Williams konsa Murphy in 38 might be slightly better but that risk of rotation makes me tempted to get it out of the way now

What should I do? Get rid of Palmer and doucoure and get bowen and de brunyne for a minus 4? Or just keep Palmer?

palmer has done nothing for months and now looks good again. might be wrong time to sell for a hit - but then those transfers do look appealing.

      Catchy user name!

    Got 1 FT.
    Currently have Wissa, Marmoush, Marteta
Midfield: Eze, Salah, KDB, Mbeumo (c), Rogers

Roll transfer (Marteta or Rogers bench), or sell Marteta for Wood/Cunha
    What about rumours Cunha transfer?

Roll to get Watkins in 37 best option? And then 2 FT for W38

Mateta > Wood or Cunha looks good.

    Raya
    Burn Livramento Gvardioal
    Salah Bowen Rogers Mbeumo
    Isak Marmoush Wissa

    Jose sa Elanga Murillo Ait-Nouri

    3.8itb, one transfer

Thinking of Rogers to De Bruyne and bench boost, winning mini league by 6 points, team near identical bar he has De Bruyne

    Thoughts?

Hi all, team for this GW is below, I have 1ft and £4.5m itb. What is the best option here from what I am considering below?

    A) Murphy and mateta > KDB and Wissa (-4)
    B) mateta > wissa for free
    C) roll transfer
    D) something else

    Verbruggen

    Williams livramento Gvardiol

    Eze mbeumo rogers salah

    Mateta marmoush isak

    Bench:Raya, Murphy, saliba, bradley

A or B. I have similar dilemma and I already went B) and considering Savinho--> KDB for (-4), if not than probably bench Savinho and play Rogers, Sarr, Mbuemo, Salah

Some help please all: 3FT and 2.6m ITB. Would love KDB but cant see a way. Have AM transfer to make too - currently on Moyes.

    Areola
    Munoz - Gvardiol - Saliba
    Salah - Murphy - Mbeumo - Sarr
    Marmoush - Isak - Mateta

    (Raya) - Rogers - Konsa - Livra

    1) Mateta > Wissa
    2) Mateta > Cunha
    3) Sarr > Bowen

Can see the appeal in all those transfers but also think palace might do really well. What about salah to kdb? I’d get pep AM if not getting kdb

Yea could gamble on no salah and makes total sense - means AM will be Frank

I can barely decide between 1 or 2 either but I'm slightly leaning towards Wissa due to Ipswich's horrific defensive data.
Sarr > Bowen is good, but don't be surprised if Spurs rotate and it backfires. Could possibly hold off on this one.
AM Frank or Pep for this week IMO.

With 1FT + 1.1 itb and plans to BB this week, what should I do?

    A) Mateta > Wissa
    B) Murphy > Elanga
    C) Other ideas?

    Raya
    Gvardiol, Collins, Milenkovic
    Salah, Saka, Murphy, Mbeumo
    Marmoush, Isak, Mateta

    (Verbruggen, Sarr, Kerkez, Munoz)

My front 3 are currently Wissa, Isak and Marmoush.

Would you transfer any of the above out for Cunha?

If it helps, i already have Mbeumo, and debating Murphy > KDB

      Absolutely not.

I'd give it a week and then move Marmoush on for Cunha. (This week if we hear he's benched).

No, sell one of Isak/Marmoush in 37

    Reposting as thread moved on:

    Currently:

    Areola (Raya)
    Munoz Gvardiol Williams (Saliba Burn)
    Salah Mbueno Rogers Murphy (Sarr)
    Mateta Isak Marmoush

    £2.9m ITB, 1 FT

    A) Mateta to Wissa as FT?
    B) Murphy or Sarr on the bench?
    C) Anything else?

yes to A as he could be benched or only play one half
I would bench Murphy as I think he gets reduced minutes and probably a harder fixture
