As we prepare to return from the 2025/26 season’s first international break, it’s high time to dig into the statistics from the opening three Gameweeks and revive… ‘Big Numbers’!

Diving back into the Opta and StatsBomb data available in our Members Area, we’ll discuss the most eye-catching stats that we’ve gathered so far.

You can, of course, sort all of the data used (and more) within your own parameters via the Members Area.

Only subscribers can read the full article. Those wishing to sign up to our site and continue reading, and see a list of the benefits that Membership brings, can do so by clicking here.

GOALKEEPERS

92.9% of the shots on target faced by Guglielmo Vicario (£5.0m) have been saved, 13 from 14. That’s the highest percentage so far, ahead of David Raya (£5.5m, 90.9%) and Robert Sanchez (£5.0m, 88.9%).

Indeed, the Tottenham Hotspur shotstopper has also made the most total saves, has the best rate of them per minute (20.8), and has denied the highest percentage of big chances (40%) of all who have appeared at least twice.

+2.20 expected goals (xG) prevented by Vicario is another league-leading mark. This further highlights his importance to Spurs, as the data suggests he has helped them concede roughly two goals less than expected.

The bulk of that cumulative total came in Gameweek 1 against Burnley. But Vicario also finished with a positive figure when facing Manchester City and Bournemouth.

Trailing him in the total rankings is Man City’s James Trafford (£5.0m), on +1.90 xG prevented.

He’s about to unluckily lose his place to Gianluigi Donnarumma (£5.5m), but Trafford – despite being responsible for one of Spurs’ Gameweek 2 goals – doesn’t appear to be the primary issue with their porous backline. Last time out, his single match score in the loss to Brighton and Hove Albion was +1.10.

3 goalkeepers have kept two clean sheets and conceded just once, so far. As you can probably guess from the earlier statistic, that trio is Vicario, Raya and Sanchez.

Bournemouth newbie Djordje Petrovic (£4.5m) joins them as another to earn at least two save points. Vicario has three, one each time.

However, rather than Petrovic, it’s double clean sheet man Nick Pope (£5.0m) and penalty-saving Jordan Pickford (£5.5m) who join the main trio inside the top five for FPL points.

Thoughts appreciated. Have used my WC but have left 2.5m in bank to cover big hitters coming back such as Saka Palmer etc. Not sure it’s necessary.

    Team is Raya/Dubrav
    Calafiori, Virgil, Gheui, Sensie, gudmanson
    Semenyo, Gakpo, Grealish, Enzo, king
    Pedro, Haaland, Ekitikee

    2.5 in bank

I'll do well to come out with many defensive points this week.

    I'm playing Munoz and Diouf.

    Start 2 more please...

    1. Dubravka
    2. Sels
    3. Milenko
    4. Estève

Dorgu last on the bench. Thinking of 1 + 3 to play to split the Burnley and Forest chances with Milenko offering some goal threat.

1 and 3 yeah. you have to split it up anyways. my only worry would be arsenal are solid at set pieces so that might rule out milenk chance of scoring.

Hi guys. With 1 FT & 2.8 ITB
    Kelleher
    Van de Ven - Rodon - N.Williams
    Rogers - Mbuemo - Gakpo - Bruno - Semenyo
    Watkins - Haaland
    (Dorgu-AWB-Guiu)

Can I get away with rolling and attacking it next week with 2FT or is this team too light to leave this GW

    Thoughts on my WC team?

    Petrovic Dubravka
    Gabriel Virgil Cucurella Munoz Senesi
    Semenyo Xavi Grealish Paqueta KDH
    Ekitike Pedro Mateta

7.7 ITB. Enough to buy Isak AND Gyokores (from any forwards) AND Saka (from any midfielder except KDH). I could get Salah, which would help with captaincy, but would likely mean selling him for Saka, so it's less flexible.

Trying to cover lots of good options instead of piling all the money into the XI for these reasons:

    1. Increasing team value
    2. There are lots of good options
    3. Therefore better to delay some decisions till later
    4. To help save FTs as I want to use them for Arsenal and Isak

2 Everton Mids might be too heavy, Grealish is suspended GW8. Xavi unknown, could be great, someone i am keeping my I one.

Virgil i am not so sure on with Liverpool defence, prefer Palace double up but stops you getting back Sarr in for Mateta Defence looks great apart from Virgil.

I can see your plan though

      1. Deulofail
        • 9 Years

Cheers Crunchi. Agree about having 2 Everton mids, but Grealish doesn't need to play GW8. It will be a nice rest for him on the bench irl and in my fantasy team. Would therefore increase his xmins around that fixture.

I like Lacroix, but not the double up in this particular team, since I'm planning to rotate constantly based on fixtures. Also blocks Sarr, as you say, though I may sell Mateta if I want both Gyok and Isak.

I just don’t see the points coming in the midfield. Is that two Everton midfielders? And a West Ham player? I think you’ll need a box of tissues here, and not for onanistic purposes!

      What is the strategy?

Are you playing 5ATB? There was a draft I saw from Walsh that leans all-in on 5 atb 5-3-2 with Salah and Haaland. I quite liked it. This draft is a nightmare with no captaincy options.

      1. IN SANE IN DE BRUYNE

You know, players don't have to be expensive to be captaincy options

      2. Deulofail
        • 9 Years
        2 months, 25 days ago

No strategy as far as formation goes. Just play whichever seem the best options each week until I eventually take money out of the bench. Ekitike is a captaincy option this week. Isak, Gyokores and Saka will be good options from GW7. Not thought much about it, but GW6 looks good for Semenyo and Pedro

    6. Deulofail
      • 9 Years

Thanks for replies. I agree, 2 Everton mids is not a great idea. I don't know why I didn't consider this yet. I like King but I worry about his minutes going forward. I could go for Reijnders if I downgrade VVD to Porro or any other defender.

    Hi all

Disastrous start FH3 as i was hoping Palmer news would be better, and know what to do with my 2FH's (Saka out)but maybe a hit is in order. 2FT

    Sanchez (Dub)
    Munoz Porro Andersen (Williams, Esteve)
    Palmer Saka Bruno Wirtz Gakpo
    Watkins Mateta (4.5)

Was going to Saka to Reindeer / Paqueta and upgrade 4.5 to Pedro maybe Williams to Lacroix and play 4-4-2 this week.

Am giving Watkins a couple of more weeks. (same with Wirtz and Gakpo)

    A. Sell Saka and get Pedro in
B Sell Saka and get Lacroix in

I just don't know who I am WC to yet

Yeah thats my worry, not had a chance to follow FPL to much yet this season, but Focal said that the world no.1 has been playing a back 5 which says something!

Don't think 4-4-2 this week is the worst in the world

Take the risk on Calafiori’s minutes, you reckon? I’m not massively feeling the more templatey Gabriel pick, which is what’s led me to Raya to get some Arsenal defence in place with an eye on GW7 fixture swing.

I don’t really expect to get much from VdV on a regular basis (would probably be reluctantly benching him for Munoz Senesi Butn this week anyway), more just about having a Spurs defender for their nice fixtures as well… had Porro pre WC but not sure he’s worth the extra dosh

Thoughts on the plan going forward?

    Gw4: Sarr/Guiu —> Semenyo/Mateta (-4)

    GW5: Bench Boost (sell Reijnders?)

    GW6: Salah/Mateta —> Haaland/Ndiaye (free)

GW7: Wood —> Gyokores (free, exact funds)

    Team:
    Sanchez Dubravka
    Munoz Williams Andersen Rodon Dorgu
Sarr Salah Bruno Kudus Sarr Reijnders
    Guiu Wood Watkins

      Depends on your others.

Despite clean sheet odds I fancy Burnley to be a tougher nut to crack against Liverpool than Forest at Arsenal.

So is Sarr out? Glasner should have had his press conference at 9am?

Absolutely delighted with the Palmer news, the fact he trained yesterday and is training this afternoon makes me really optimistic of a start.

My Chelsea line up prediction will be:

    Sanchez
    Gusto Chalobah Tosin Cucurella
    Caicedo Enzo
    Neto Palmer Gittens
    Joao Pedro

Garnacho not fully fit yet, Estêvão and JP just had to play in Bolivia for 30 mins. Could be Estêvão over Gittens and Neto over to the left. I

*hadn't finished, if Lavia fit to start I could see Enzo in the ten, Palmer right and Neto left.

Does it also mean he will finally start performing after his literal no-show since January of this year?

He has to show something this week, otherwise I'll be shipping him and Ekitike for ~5.9m mid (Elliott?) and Haaland ahead of gw6. If he's looking good I'll avoid the robot for now.

I dunno. I'm not very confident in a start personally.

      Guiu could start

Pedro more likely to sub in for 30 mins than play from KO?

Start Gulu and bench Rodon in my team then, maybe?

I'm just thinking with the narrow win last year last minute goal and away draw vs Brentford Maresca will want his big guns out.

    Appreciate thoughts on below
    a. Ramsey (gone to Lei) to Tavernier and keep Palmer as part of BB next week
    b. Palmer to Semenyo

If Sarr is out, then Place two players as a no.10 could be Pino Kamada. Nice cocktail to have watching the game!

Having a disastrous start this year, so appreciate any feedback/suggestions on this FH team. (0.0 itb)

    Cheers!

    Raya
    Cucu - Munoz - Lacroix - Livra
    Salah (c) - Gakpo - Semenyo
    Gyokeres - Mateta - Ekitike

Looks pretty good to me. Picking Livramento over another attacker seems wrong to me but otherwise decent.

I could squeeze in one of the cheap mids perhaps - any you prefer this week?

can you get Livra upto Barnes(or other similar priced mid of your choosing)?

      Cucu > Anderson
      Livra > Fodder
KDH > Barnes and start him

Thanks. Yes, I did consider Barnes, but last week's benching is a concern, especially given that Gordon was out.

Wolves have JSL out so I quite fancy Livra's chances tbh.

Really thankful if you could help me with this one. What would you do?

    A. Watkins + Palmer —> Haaland + Semenyo

    B. Sarr + Palmer —> Salah + King (means playing Watkins and benching King)

    1. Conners

A looks best long-term, then figure out a route to Isak.

Anyone else going for Cash given the recent international form, 19 crosses and upcoming fixture run?

Have been semi debating it today while searching for 4th defender in that price bracket, but not sure I can bring myself to be disappointed by Villa anymore
